"The hotel has a large public bath, vending machines, an ice maker, and a water dispenser on the first floor. After a relaxing bath, you can grab some Haagen-Dazs nearby. The room was decent, with enough space to fully open a 28-inch suitcase. It also came with a fridge and free Wi-Fi, which was a nice touch. The only minor drawbacks were the washing machine, which took a bit too long, making it hard to find an available one upon returning to the hotel at night. The hotel's location isn't ideal; it's a bit of a walk from the subway station, but it's conveniently close to the Shijo-Nishinotoin bus stop, making bus travel easy. After check-out, the front desk doesn't provide Mitsui bottled water anymore (which might be a company-wide policy), but they did remind me that I could still get free water from the ice maker and water dispenser area on the first floor. Overall, it was a good experience!"

Here is why this hotel stands out: Huge Rooms: Finding spacious hotel rooms in Japan can often be a challenge, but the rooms here are surprisingly massive! There was plenty of space to stretch out, relax, and open up multiple suitcases without feeling cramped. Unbeatable Location:Situated right in the Shijo area, the location is incredibly convenient. It’s a short walk to transit links, surrounded by fantastic local dining options, and makes exploring Kyoto’s main attractions a breeze. Wonderful Staff: From the moment I checked in, the staff was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. Their warm hospitality really added to the overall experience. Affordable Price: You get incredible value for your money here. It is highly budget-friendly while still delivering comfort, cleanliness, and amenities. If you are looking for the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and affordability in Kyoto, look no further. I will definitely be staying here again on my next visit!"

"This hotel was truly a highlight of my trip to Kyoto! I booked it right before the Dragon Boat Festival, and the value for money was excellent. As it's an economy hotel, they don't clean every day; for my five-night stay, I had one full room cleaning midway through. However, towels were replaced daily, and the mattress was incredibly soft. The air conditioning and humidifier made for a very comfortable stay. The Kyoto accommodation tax of 2000 JPY is collected at the front desk. You can pick up complimentary toiletries from the front desk as well. The location is fantastic, just a 5-minute walk from Shijo-Omiya JR station. There's also a bus stop right in front of the hotel, making getting around super convenient. Plus, there are several convenience stores nearby."

"Amazing location. Room is very clean. Good air conditioning. Water pressure is great. Change in water temperature is sensitive so it’s easier to control water temperature. To Pokemon lover, it’s 8min walk! We absolutely love our stay here. 1 thing to improve: Please use better grade/quality of pillow as the pillow is hard."

"The hotel met my expectations; the facilities and services were good. The self-checkout was quick and easy. The only reason I'm not giving a full score is because I left a banana peel and hoped it would be taken out the next morning, so I put up the 'change towels' magnet. However, when I returned in the evening, there was a bag outside my door with fresh towels, but no one had actually entered the room, so the trash wasn't removed."

"After landing in Osaka, I took the Hello Kitty train directly to Kyoto Station. From there, I transferred to the Karasuma Line for two stops and exited from exit 4 (which has an elevator 🛗). Upon exiting, there's a 7-Eleven on the left, and the hotel is just a 2-minute walk further, up a long hallway to the second floor. The service in Kyoto is always excellent. I was able to find a good price before the May Day holiday. I've stayed at Mitsui before, but the location here is even better, with bus stops closer. Kiyomizu-dera, Arashiyama, and Kinkaku-ji are all just one stop away. The breakfast is traditional Kyoto style, light and delicious, and the elderly ladies serving were very polite. The front desk also provides a wide variety of toiletries."

"I highly recommend it! I don't think it's too far from the subway, about 500 meters, less than a 10-minute walk. I stayed for three nights. Every morning before leaving the hotel, I'd grab a free coffee. In the evenings, before heading back, I'd pop into the Life supermarket about 300 meters away for a late-night snack. After 8 PM, a lot of food items are discounted. Then, back at the hotel, I'd enjoy a surprisingly delicious mini self-service soup with rice. Just remember, you can't bring your own food into the restaurant. After that, I'd head to the public bathhouse for a shower, and finally, back to my room to enjoy my late-night snack (being very careful to keep the room tidy). It was so relaxing! The hotel bedding was also quite comfortable. The only downside was that the bathroom really had a smell; you absolutely have to keep the bathtub plug in. Luckily, I didn't shower in the bathroom itself. Overall, my stay was very comfortable. Too bad I forgot to take pictures!"

"We stayed at Agora Kyoto Shijo for two nights during our trip to Kyoto. The hotel’s location is excellent—very convenient and within about a 10 to 15-minute walk to Nishiki Market and nearby shopping areas, which made exploring the city really easy. On the first night, there was a mistake with our booking and we were given the wrong room. However, the staff resolved the issue the next day and moved us to the correct room for our second night. The room we stayed in after the change was perfect—clean, comfortable, and exactly what we had expected. Overall, despite the initial inconvenience, we had a pleasant stay thanks to the great location and the comfortable room."

"This is my second stay at Hachijo Hotel this year, and I've probably stayed here about five times in total. I love it as much as ever. Whenever I go to the Kansai region, Hachijo Miyako Hotel is my first choice; I don't even bother looking at other hotels anymore. The location is superb, and the room size is considered very spacious for Japan. I really like that the toiletries are POLA. The self-check-in process is very smooth. I also booked a day tour, and the meeting point was conveniently nearby."
