"I had a pleasant stay at HOTEL MYSTAYS Asakusa. The location was convenient for exploring Asakusa and other parts of Tokyo, with public transportation within walking distance. The room was compact, which is quite normal in Tokyo, but it was clean, comfortable, and had the basic amenities I needed. The area around the hotel was relatively quiet, so it was nice to come back and rest after a long day of sightseeing. The staff were polite and helpful, and the overall stay was comfortable and convenient. I also liked being able to explore the Asakusa area easily while still having good access to other places in Tokyo. Overall, it was a good choice for a reasonably priced and practical stay in Tokyo. I would consider staying here again on a future visit."

"The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was very clean and well-maintained. Its location is super convenient with multiple subway stations nearby, offering great value for money. I had a really comfortable stay! I'll definitely choose this hotel again when I visit Tokyo in the future. I came with a friend this time, and I'd even stay here if I came with my girlfriend. You can also see the SkyTree from here, which is a big plus! Initially, I planned to only stay two nights to get settled before moving to another hotel, but I ended up being so comfortable that I stayed here for all 10 days of my trip to Tokyo. Highly recommend!"

"The hotel's location is super convenient, right by the exit of Ryogoku Station on the JR Sobu Line. The hotel itself seems a bit dated, possibly due to an older renovation. The room was incredibly small; it felt like a former single room with three beds crammed in, making it difficult to even walk around. The TV was tiny. The cleanliness also left something to be desired. It seems many hotel staff in Japan are now from South Asia, and the meticulousness and hygiene standards aren't quite what they used to be with Japanese staff. Anyway, the day after checking out and returning home, my legs were covered in itchy red spots. I'm not sure if it was because of this hotel. The front desk staff during check-in in the evening were two Japanese gentlemen, and their service was pretty good. In the morning, for check-out, it was two Japanese ladies. Since it's right by the station, dining, convenience stores, and shopping are all very accessible, which is a definite plus. However, overall, it's okay as a temporary stopover, but I wouldn't be very satisfied staying here for a longer tourist trip. I didn't take many photos, but here's one of JR Ryogoku Station taken from the McDonald's across the street while having breakfast, just to mark the occasion."

"The hotel is located directly opposite the Ryogoku Kokugikan, which is very convenient. It's a mere 1-minute walk from the West Exit of Ryogoku Station on the JR Sobu Line, and that minute even includes waiting at a traffic light. The convenience is excellent, with direct access to Shinjuku via the Sobu Line. The surrounding area boasts a great selection of eateries, including yakiniku (grilled meat), sushi, izakayas, and even Marusuisan. Behind the station, there's a drugstore, a small supermarket, and convenience stores, making it incredibly handy. You can even see the Tokyo Skytree from the window. As is typical for business hotels in Japan, the room is quite small. Due to its proximity to an overpass and the train station, the environment is very noisy, so earplugs are essential for sleeping at night. The room isn't cleaned daily, but towels are replaced and trash is collected. Other than that, there's not much else to mention. But the main point is that it's cheap—a no-brainer for around 300 yen. What more could you ask for?"

"I stayed for three nights from July 11th to 13th. I arrived at the hotel around 5 PM. Originally, I had booked two rooms, each with two twin beds and a sofa. Seeing that there were five of us, the hotel graciously upgraded one of our rooms to a triple room for free, ensuring everyone had a good night's sleep. The hotel is small, clean, and has staff who speak Chinese. Toiletries are self-service. The room trash was emptied, and towels were changed daily. You can also exchange a small card at the front desk for bottled water, one for each guest. Japanese hotel rooms are indeed on the smaller side; you can't open two 28-inch suitcases simultaneously. However, considering the location, I find this understandable. Exit A4 next to the hotel doesn't have an elevator, so it's not recommended if you have large luggage. You can use Exit A3 instead. There are about seven or eight convenience stores around the hotel, as well as good Chinese restaurants and fruit/vegetable shops. It's very convenient to take the subway to get anywhere. Oh, and there's a small rooftop terrace at the hotel where it's very pleasant to go up and enjoy the breeze in the evening. On the second floor, the laundry room has an ice maker, water dispenser, and microwave. Washing clothes costs 300 yen, and drying starts from 100 yen. They didn't charge any additional hotel tax, and check-out was as simple as handing in the room card. There were guests from Europe, China, and Southeast Asia."

"This hotel exceeded my expectations. The location is super convenient, right across from Meijiza Theater and with Hamacho Park just downstairs. Suiten-gu Shrine is only a few minutes' walk away. If you get the right angle, you can even see the Tokyo Skytree! There are several subway stations nearby and plenty of dining options, plus a Lawson and 7-Eleven. The room was a medium size and very functional. You need to pick up toiletries yourself from the lobby. Privacy was excellent, and the soundproofing was great. The design is simple and modern, and the service was attentive."

"A wonderful place to stay in Tokyo! Excellent location in a quiet neighborhood. Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa is within walking distance, and there are also several metro stations nearby. It's very convenient to get to from the airport, with a direct metro line that requires no transfers. The apartment is equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay: a washer/dryer, laundry detergent, an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer, and a fully equipped kitchen with dishes and appliances. There's also a capsule coffee machine on the first floor where you can make excellent coffee. Everything was clean, modern, and well-thought-out down to the smallest detail. This is an excellent option for both short and long stays. We would gladly stay here again."

"We stayed for 3 nights. The room is small but it has everything you need including slippers , pajamas, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush and razor. There is a laundry room available, 400 yen to wash, 100-200 yen to dry. We didn’t eat the breakfast in the hotel since there are 711 and family mart so close by. There is a mini fridge as well. The hotel provides 2 bottles of water and will restock daily if needed. The asakusa station is 10 minutes walking distance, and I really enjoyed the great view of the Skytree along the way. Overall we had a great stay at the hotel."

KkhosodaI had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was genuinely impressed by every aspect of the experience. The cleanliness was exceptional—everything from the room to the common areas was spotless and very well maintained. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, providing more than enough space to relax after a long day. The location is another major highlight. It is very convenient and well-situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, transportation, and restaurants. This made my stay even more enjoyable and stress-free. The service was outstanding throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm and professional attitude. Their hospitality truly made a difference. The food was also delicious, with a great variety of options and excellent quality. Every meal I had was satisfying and enjoyable. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

EEleniqueThis was my first trip to Japan — I loved the country and its people — but I was disappointed with this hotel and will not return. I hesitated before writing, but decided to share my experience because this property was first on my list and the reception staff’s behavior was very disappointing. I have worked in hospitality and am certain the situation could have been handled promptly and professionally. We traveled together (two colleagues) and stayed in room 611 from June 29 to July 3. The room is indeed small, which we knew in advance: two beds with a narrow passage between them — that’s essentially the whole room. The room had all essentials: clean bedding, good towels, a kettle, an air purifier, etc. My suitcase only fit on the bed; my colleague kept her backpack on the pouf. The hotel’s location is excellent — we reached it from the airport by metro without problems. Ueno Park and the zoo are within easy walking distance. We also really liked the breakfast — friendly staff and tasty food. Unfortunately, on July 2 my colleague discovered that dollars were missing from her backpack. We are certain the money was there on June 30, since she took part of it with her on a walk that day. We thoroughly rechecked the room (I found a surprising amount of dust under the bed, though the room appeared clean overall). My colleague, who speaks excellent English, reported the theft to reception at about 18:00. She was told the hotel has no cameras and that housekeeping had already left. We provided the exact amount missing and our dates of stay. We did not make a scene or demand compensation, but we did expect a professional response: to check who cleaned the room on the relevant dates and to contact the housekeeping team. I ask hotel management to investigate: room 611, housekeeping dates 30.06, 01.07, and 02.07, and the exact amount missing (in US dollars) are all known. Taking these simple steps would help restore the hotel’s reputation and demonstrate true guest care. We stayed in two other hotels during our trip and experienced nothing like this elsewhere. This incident has not changed our positive impression of Japan and its people, but it has changed our view of this particular hotel — we will not return. Advice to future guests: be vigilant with cash and valuables, and be aware that the reception at this hotel may not provide adequate assistance.

GGuest UserThough small, this hotel has everything you need. Its Ginza location is incredibly convenient, perfect for shopping or quickly getting to Narita Airport via the expressway. What truly impressed me is how many features are packed into such a compact space. They have a coin-operated laundry and a large public bath. The room, which I'd estimate at about 20 square meters, even managed to fit bunk beds (1.2m/1.5m), making it very family-friendly. A minor point is that since the hotel is directly above the subway, you occasionally feel vibrations as trains pass. This led to a funny moment when an actual earthquake hit at night, and I initially thought it was just another train going by!

GGuest User• located at the furthest exit from the Ikebukuro train station. have to walk about 10-15 minutes to get to the Yamanote line. the surrounding is also filled with a lot of sus shops, with girls standing around at night holding papers and shouting at men. if you’re a female they won’t bother you but if you’re a guy stay safe.  • at night can hear some shouting from the street as well.  • good; have Refa hair dryer, hair wash etc. there’s also a laundry machine, microwave, etc. which was really nice. • space wise, I think that it is very spacious especially for a solo traveller with only one luggage but if you have two, there might not be enough space for you to open your luggage.

Hotel offer Ice bar/cream for the guests after bathing in Comic room next to Public bath. JJoyful TravellerWhile this hotel has a convenient location, the experience was ruined by a lack of basic hospitality and very cramped quarters. The room was so small it was difficult to even open two large suitcases. More disappointing, however, was the staff’s attitude. Everything is followed strictly 'by the book' with zero flexibility. I was told a late check-out would be charged by the hour, and even a simple request for a complimentary bottle of water was flatly denied. The staff were condescending and never offered a smile, making for a very unwelcoming environment. A small gesture like a bottle of water costs almost nothing but earns customer loyalty; unfortunately, this hotel chooses rigid rules over guest satisfaction. I would not recommend staying here.

AAnonymous UserComfortable one-night stay at Shinjuku Granbell Hotel — great location and clean, modern rooms. One useful tip for anyone driving: there’s parking available nearby that you can either reserve in advance for around ¥2,000 per night, or just drive in without a reservation and pay by the hour (rates around ¥1,700 for 8 hours at the lot near the hotel). Made it really convenient for our road trip stop before heading north. Would recommend for travelers exploring Shinjuku by car.

CCarey LoyCenturion Hotel Ueno was a complete disappointment, falling short of basic hospitality standards. The deception started right at check-in: the room was explicitly advertised and booked as a ”Casual Double Bed,” but what we actually received was a cramped single bed. This blatant misrepresentation immediately compromised the comfort of our stay. The lack of care extended into the bathroom, which was a major letdown. The sink and shower area were marred by very bad, visible marks that made the entire space feel neglected and unhygienic. For a hotel that positions itself in a convenient location like Ueno, the absolute disregard for accurate room descriptions and rigorous housekeeping is unacceptable.

圆心This hotel is super convenient with a great location. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. It's a shame that the front desk staff were unfriendly! That's the most annoying part, especially since it was my first stay and I just wanted to ask a simple question. The two Japanese staff members seemed particularly annoyed and impolite. They even took my suitcase without asking me first.
