"I chose this hotel because of its reputation as an old-school establishment, but I was a little disappointed.
1. I have a permanent residence in Japan, so it's understandable that the front desk would ask for my residence card. However, they also insisted on making a copy of my ID, which no other hotel in Japan has ever done, and I found that quite perplexing.
2. There were still hairs from the previous guest stuck to the shampoo bottle in the bathroom, which is simply unacceptable. I wanted to ask the front desk about it, but I was too tired in the evening to even bother.
3. On the bright side, the breakfast was quite good and varied, and the window seats offered a nice view of the city."
"I had a wonderful stay here as a solo traveler. The location was very convenient, with easy access to public transportation, restaurants, and convenience stores. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help whenever I had questions. The facilities were also well maintained and made my stay even more enjoyable. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely stay here again if I visit the area in the future. Highly recommended!"
"The hotel's location is excellent, with a variety of great food options right next door. The breakfast provided by the hotel was also delicious. The service was attentive, and transportation was very convenient. Overall, a great experience! 👍"
"Very nice hotel with a large public bath and good facilities (gym, pool etc.). Breakfast is great and they provide the Niigata rice cooked in the traditional way, a must try! Just that there is a distance from the JR station and one of the crossings to get there requires a go up bridge. But you can go around it to avoid it."
"The hotel itself is quite nice, and the service at the reception desk was excellent. The staff in person were polite and genuinely tried to help with anything I needed during my stay.
However, I was very disappointed with the phone service. When I called the hotel and spoke in English, the call was hung up on me. I tried several times and the same thing happened. It did not seem like the staff member on the phone was willing to assist or find a solution. This left a very negative impression.
As this is an “International Hotel,” I expected at least basic English communication or an attempt to assist rather than disconnecting the call. I already informed the hotel about this issue and I sincerely hope they improve their phone service permanently.
Additionally, the hotel is located 10 mins by walk from the city center so you will likely need to take a taxi to travel around.
Overall, the in person service was good but the phone communication experience needs serious improvement."
"The location of the hotel was very convenient it was near to everything. Train station, restaurants and shopping centers. The staff were friendly and the room is clean and decent."
"The hotel itself is not bad. When I checked in, because the Japanese hotels were very rigid, I needed to wait until three o'clock to check in. I went to store my luggage in the morning and then continued to travel. The room is still a bit small, especially a lot of items need to be picked up on the first floor, which is slightly inconvenient; The heated microwave oven is not on the floor of the room I stayed in, a bit tossing! The breakfast is really good, the restaurant has a good view and the food is rich and delicious. But the opening time of the big bath is not understandable, men can't take a bath in the morning~ can be at night! I checked out late at noon, and the front desk also charged me two hours more. In fact, it didn't take that long, so the overall impression was greatly reduced!"
"Very nice hotel. Very comfortable, rooms very nice. Lots of choices of restaurant within the hotel. It's a bit of a walk from the Niigata train station (10mins?) so if it's cold and snowing, maybe abit more challenging, but on a nice weather day, it's a pleasant walk. Staff are super nice. I requested more pillows and towels, and were brought to my room very quickly."

AAnonymous UserLocation: Super convenient! It's connected directly to the station building, so you can walk through a passage from the station straight to the hotel elevator without even stepping outside. The only minor inconvenience is a set of stairs you have to go down before you reach the glass doors to the hotel elevators.
Facilities: The room was a bit small; I couldn't really spread out my luggage. Other than that, all the basic conditions were met. For the price, I can't really complain. Oh, and the corridor outside the elevators is really beautiful and green.
厨厨二病の蟹さんThe hotel service was excellent, and the front desk staff were very friendly. Dinner was a set menu, and breakfast was a buffet. The food was decent. The hot spring could accommodate about ten people. It's a good leisure option for travelers.
Ttraveller from CebuCheck in and out is fast. Being part of JR Train Group gave it immediate accessibility in same building in 2 to 4 minutes. Hotel lobby 3rd floor is same floor with JR entrance.
Besides Seven Eleven store and about 40 meters distance walking to Yoshinoya.
Many food shops around South ,West,East entrance.
Bic Camera just across street.
Room is ok with bath separated from toilet.
KKeeeeeeeeeeeIt was a convenient and easy to understand place just across the road station and footbath.
The cleaning was well done and I was able to spend it comfortably.
The food was delicious. Especially the breakfast buffet was good.
I think it is a good hotel in Cospa.
It was good that the large communal bath was large, but I wish it was a hot spring of a more habitual type because the hot spring was tasteless and odorless.
GGuest UserThe hotel is a 4-minute walk from the station. It's clean and quiet, and the lobby offers a great selection of high-quality toiletries. The bed was really comfortable, and the bath towels were soft and absorbent. The breakfast was especially delicious, with soba noodles, Niigata rice, and a variety of Japanese dishes. There's also a washing machine, dryer, and microwave on the first floor.
GGuest UserNice hotel withe rooms of various sizes. For me it was spacious enough. Bed was comfortable, would have liked one more cushion.
Room was clean an I liked that i could open the window. It was quite hot in the room because the heater was turned on. Even if i turned it off hot air came out.
Room was clean and had everything i needed. You can also get things at the front desk.
Breakfast was buffetstyle and really very good with a lot of choises, both Japanese, local and western.
Location was very convenient near the train station. About max a 5 minutes walk. Near the hotel there are a lot of places to eat or have a drink. At the station is a shopping mall.
GGuest UserMy son and I stayed one night in the cheapest room without meals.
It was an old inn, but it had an open-air bath and was not too bad.
There were three smoking areas, and from the smoking area in front of the large bath we could enjoy a leisurely cigarette while looking out over the garden.
CChaitianくんThe service is very good, with free drink coupons. You can also go to the same hotel next door to experience the ceramic steam bath for 500 days, which is quite comfortable. The room is indeed small for a temporary stay. It is less than a five-minute walk from the station and convenient for eating. The big camera next door has everything, and there are many restaurants nearby.
와와사I've not ever stayed Dormy Inn and this was the first time. It was very nice and impressive. Good onsen and clean facilities. I will try to find Dormy Inn chain near the places I plan to trip to. Thank you so much for the nice services the hotel provided.
IIYAClean and comfortable, very suitable for family travel, parking is also convenient. In short, it is highly recommended for parents and children. If you drive in Xinyi, choose this one, the service is great!
