"I booked this hotel two months in advance, paying 980 RMB per night including breakfast. However, on the day I checked in, my colleague found the price was 580 RMB per night with breakfast. Early check-in cost an extra $30. I appreciated that the power outlets were universal Chinese type, so I didn't need an adapter. The breakfast offered steamed buns, noodles, and chopsticks. While it was nothing special, it was decent enough. The outdoor seating at the restaurant was very comfortable. On the downside, the room facilities were outdated, and the hygiene was just average. There was a strange smell from the wardrobe and the sink, and some areas were quite dirty. On the positive side, the staff were all very nice. If the price had been under 500 RMB per night, I would have found it acceptable. But paying nearly 1000 RMB per night, I felt like I got a raw deal."

"This hotel is located in the CBD. While the CBD area can be a bit busy at night, the hotel's security, service, and restaurants are top-notch. The rooms are also very spacious, and there's a gym and an outdoor swimming pool. The hotel boasts three dining options: a 24-hour bar and a buffet restaurant. It's also conveniently close to East Africa's largest mosque and a museum, both great for daytime visits. Plus, there are safe bars and restaurants right next to the hotel that you can check out during the day."

"This is a really nice hotel in the Commercial Business District. The best thing about here is the breakfast which has a really nice spread including an egg station, beef/chicken sausages, and pancakes. I also used the gym frequently where they provided towels and water. Everyone was always so friendly. While it is centrally located, it’s not the safest neighborhood at night - during the day it seemed fine (but you must always take care of your phone). We didn’t mind it because we were always out and when we came back to the hotel, we never left again each night."

"The hotel is an old colonial house and well maintained. The location is a little far from the restaurants and city center. A Carrefour is within walking distance. Breakfast and pool are great. Highly recommended for budget travelers"

"We loved staying at this hotel which is absolutely steeped in history. Staying here feels like taking a step back in history and the art deco design of the bar was just gorgeous. However, it was the staff that really made our stay memorable. They made us feel special and welcome from the moment we walked into the hotel. It just happened to be my birthday and they went out of their way to make it feel so very special. In particular, Kanja and Christine, were just fantastic and made us feel very welcome. "we spent 4 days in this superb well-located hotel. The meals were varied, the room very clean, and special mention goes to the many attentive staff members especially to the lady at the travel desk who gave us great advice for our safari in Nairobi National Park and to our Uber driver. One negative point: the pool is not heated."
