Jeonju Geunsunae Chogajip Pension

Staying at this traditional Korean thatched-roof house (chogajip) in Jeonju was such a special and unforgettable experience! I booked this place for my friend visiting from the U.S. to give her a unique taste of Korean culture—and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The location was great, the room was clean and cozy, and the host was incredibly kind and helpful :) After booking, I recommend contacting the host in advance to let them know your estimated arrival time—it really helps with check-in. For international guests, it may be a bit difficult to communicate, so having someone help with the message is a good idea! If you’re visiting Korea, don’t miss the chance to stay in a beautiful chogajip and experience a piece of traditional life. Highly recommended! ❤️

Such a lovely, unforgettable experience of staying in a traditional hanok pension. Owners are kind and mainly Korean-speaking locals. They may not be there during check in, so remember the room name in your booking for easy identification, or inform them of your exact arrival time to ensure a smooth process. Our room was cosy but had a comfortable double bed, TV, cold water in fridge, Korean bath towels and clothes hooks. (Hot water kettle and mugs can be found in the mini lounge hut near the gate.) The spacious and separated bathroom was rare, and the ondol floor was such a warm treat in winter. We were even given freshly made tteok and honey as breakfast treats. Good value in the heart of Jeonju, within minutes walk of everything. Thank you for the hospitality! We had a healing stay.

Overall, it was a very satisfying stay. The interior decor and amenities were all as well-equipped as shown in the pictures. The meticulous attention to detail was impressive, with items like an LP player, a tea set, and a Dyson hairdryer, each coming with a QR code for a tutorial. Every single item of decor was beautiful, making it a delightful place to stay. We also ordered the rooftop glamping and BBQ set. It was easy to book via phone and pay upon arrival. The price was 40,000 won for two people for glamping (4 hours use) and 40,000 won for the BBQ set, totaling 80,000 won. This was a reasonable price, considering we'd spend more if we ate out for dinner. The set included one serving of samgyeopsal (pork belly), one serving of moksal (pork neck), one tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patty - or similar), one ramen, a sauce set, chili/garlic, six marshmallows, and a pack of Charm Crackers. We could cook the meat deliciously on an induction grill dedicated to grilling. For drinks, they provided camping wine glasses and an electric opener, so we could bring our own alcohol. We could rent hanbok (Korean traditional attire) at the lobby, but it could only be worn inside the building. All hanboks were one-size-fits-all, and the men's sizes seemed to be around 95-100 (US M/L). Even though it was a free hanbok rental, the colors and quality were better than those rented in Hanok Village. The staff were also very kind and helpful with all our inquiries. The location, being in a motel district, was a bit of a downside, but thanks to that, we were able to enjoy all these amenities at a great value for money.

Hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from Jeonju station but 30-35 minutes by bus to Hanok Village. Room was very clean and equipped with kitchenette and best of all, a clothes drying/sanitizing machine! Excellent view of the city on 16 floor. Front desk staffs and Manager very helpful although they speak limited English. Across the road have local eateries and a CU convenience store. Level 1 has a pizza shop and small 7-11 store. Only negative feedbacks is the bathroom which will filled with water during shower as no separation between shower and toilet. Overall, comfortable and clean hotel to stay. Oh, hotel restaurant at level 6 serves value for money shabu shabu for lunch @ KRW14,900!

My first impression was a little surprising, but the location is great. There are many delicious restaurants nearby, so we didn't have to wait in line to eat. The 'ondol' floor (heated floor) kept the room warm. The picture is of the hotel wall... they really put a lot of effort into giving it a traditional Korean 'hanok' feel.

The place had a cozy, homey vibe that made me feel right at ease. From the moment we walked in, the owner greeted us warmly with his charming eye smile and was always eager to help. The room was great, featuring a TV, a mini fridge and a spacious bathroom stocked with essentials like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste and toothbrushes. We visited during winter and the room was wonderfully warm, creating the perfect retreat from the cold. We even had the opportunity to prepare our own breakfast - eggs, bread, butter, jam, coffee and milk. To top it off, I did my laundry there, which was incredibly convenient. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. He’s genuinely one of the kindest Koreans I’ve met during my trip. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I absolutely fell in love with this place. I would definitely return! Sir, this is me, your guest from the Philippines. Thank you so much for accommodating us! Take care always!

Brand new hostel. SELF CHECK-IN - be sure to get a message from the owner for security code to open door-- he may text it- does your ESim get texts? Great kitchen, potable water dispenser, brand new mattresses, privacy blind eaxh bunk, bunk light and socket, small towel provided, A/C works great, very close to the Hanok Village, very close to bus back to train station. Place is brand new.

Hotel that was difficult to find for a trip with my daughter on the Sakyamuni holiday From foam cleaning in the lobby, there are all the little things that travelers have forgotten and not taken. The refrigerator has a snack with drinks and milk and coffee In the morning, you can bake your own morning bread. It is spacious and comfortable if you don't want the tidyness of 5 star hotel class The location is right in front of the city hall. It takes a little over 10 minutes to walk to Hanok Village, but all the way to and from are attractions, so it's worth walking around. There are restaurants nearby from Hyundai Ok ~ Anyway, my daughter and I were very satisfied with 2 nights and 3 days!
