1st night was very noisy as there’s a single wooden door between my room and the next family room, it was like I was sharing the room with them. Fortunately they moved out the following day. There was also a lot of noise from outside, I wasn’t street facing. I tried to close the window but it doesn’t shut, they were also cooking with charcoal so the room smelt like a bbq. I booked this hotel specifically because it had a swimming pool, as in the pictures, it doesn’t. That’s only if you book the villa which is two blocks away I was told. So a completely different hotel. The western breakfast doesn’t exist either, I was offered some kind of noodles or salad. I ate out each morning. Also the girl in reception booked a taxi for me to the airport, it was twice what I paid to get there, I thought fair enough, there where lots of other people in the minibus from the airport and this was my own taxi, only for it to stop at every hotel on the way  picking people up. The guy on reception was very nice and helpful but the hotel tainted the start to my trip in Luang Prabang.  The whole booking was very misleading.

The staff were exceptionally good, very enthusiastic in helping with issues, and super friendly. The female staff members were sweet, and the male staff members were gentle. What was unacceptable, though, is that for light sleepers, this place is an absolute nightmare. There's constant traffic noise from the road outside, and it's extremely loud. The walls offer no soundproofing whatsoever, and the windows don't seal properly. I initially stayed in room 101, but couldn't bear it in the middle of the night, so I was moved to 209. It was slightly better after midnight, but I was still woken up by vehicle noise around 6 AM. There's nothing that can be done about it, as it's due to the location. If you're not bothered by noise, this place is a good option; it's very convenient to get to the market and attractions. The room facilities are decent and quite new. Breakfast was also good.

Overall, it's pretty good. It's located down a small alley, so you drive to the alley entrance and then walk in. The alley is very quiet, and as you enter the hotel, there's a large pond with a small fountain, which is quite beautiful. It's about a 10-minute walk to Mount Phousi and the main street – not super close, but not far either, just a nice stroll. The room was clean and tidy. My only regret is that we were given a ground-floor room. The sliding door opened directly onto the pond and breakfast area, so guests were constantly walking past right in front of us. While I wasn't too worried about security, we had to keep the curtains drawn and the door closed the whole time, otherwise the room was completely exposed. The breakfast was decent; we ate it for three days and didn't get tired of it, and there were fresh squeezed juices available every day.

Good plumbing and the linens were in decent condition. I really enjoyed the breakfasts; they were perfect for a couple of days, especially considering how expensive Laos has become and not having to spend extra on breakfast at a cafe. The only strange thing was that my room was cleaned the day after I arrived, but then it wasn't cleaned again, even though I left the 'please make up room' sign out.

I fantastic hotel. I been to Luang Prabang many times , like 10 times. I live in Vientiane with my wife. and I found this hotel on my last trip to Luang Prabang. I will definitely stay at this hotel each time I visit LP. I can recommend it. The thing I like is the spacious rooms and courtyard, high quality shower, bathroom, bed, linen all very very good. And the walk to night market is so close. Like 5 minute walk and you there in middle of all happenings. One cannot get this much space and quality in such a short walking distance. Well worth it. See you next time. Staff were excellent and helpful. Can buy from the fridge in reception. Breakfast is very good to get you on the road and going. I enjoyed egg, baguette, coffee each morning. There were other options. Good cooking quality and serving efficiency. All areas of hotel very clean.

Since driving into Luang Prabang, this hotel has not disappointed. When we arrived at the store, the boss took the initiative to help us carry our luggage, and also pointed to the parking place intimately. It really saved a lot of things without looking for a parking space everywhere. The room was clean and visible to the naked eye, the sheets were covered with no folds, and there was no dust in the corner of the bathroom, so I lived in a particularly safe place. My favorite is the swimming pool in the yard. The blue water is accompanied by the surrounding green plants. I wake up in the morning to shoot the morning light and the sunset in the evening. Every frame is like a picture. I am tired of driving and relax in the pool. More convenient is that the boss can help rent a motorcycle, so convenient, want to go to the night market or Guangxi Waterfall to ride on; if you want to swim the Mekong River, let the boss book a cruise ship to worry, do not have to find the channel to compare prices. I didn't worry about the whole process. I will bring my family to Luang Prabang next time. I will definitely choose here!

The owner is incredibly welcoming to guests, even offering free rides to the train station for elderly visitors and providing travel tips. The rooms are clean and tidy, and it's quiet at night. They offer a complimentary washing machine and a kitchen for self-catering. The lush greenery and the peaceful, elegant courtyard are delightful. The owner goes above and beyond to meet guests' needs. The hotel is centrally located, close to attractions. I found my stay here very peaceful and comfortable. A huge thumbs up! The gentleman is also very kind and warm-hearted.

AAnonymous UserThis was my first time staying at this hotel (chosen because it is top-rated), but unfortunately it was a disappointing experience for me as a business traveller. Apart from the central location, the stay did not meet my expectations. I booked a double-bed room and requested the second floor with a temple view. The staff informed me that the second floor was fully booked, and even the double-bed rooms were unavailable, so they gave me a twin room (no. 3) and pushed the beds together. The only good part was that the room still had a partial temple view from the window. The room itself was beautifully decorated, but there were no basic amenities such as slippers, toothbrush, razor, or comb unless requested at reception. I returned to the hotel close to midnight after a long day, only to find the reception closed, no staff available, and no information on how to contact anyone. There was also no in-room phone. I had to walk barefoot on the cold hard floor, could not brush my teeth, and could not request an iron to prepare for my meeting the next morning. In the morning, staff were still not present at 6:00 AM when I needed toiletries. When they finally arrived, I overheard the housekeeper saying they had run out of stock and that I should “go buy it outside,” which made me feel quite unwelcome as a guest paying a high room rate. The receptionist then repeated the same message without offering any guidance on where to buy items. Additionally, while the hotel claims to reduce single-use amenities for environmental reasons, they still provide drinking water in plastic bottles instead of glass — something that should be improved. I would like to compliment the staff member on duty on the morning of the 12th Nov 2025 at around 6:00 AM. I wanted to prepare food for almsgiving, and he kindly gave me helpful advice. He even went to ask a nearby vendor to bring the items I needed so that I could receive the service conveniently. I truly appreciate his assistance and excellent service. Overall, the lack of essential amenities, poor service availability, and unprofessional attitude made my stay uncomfortable. This will be my first and last stay at this hotel.

CChou LeSatri House – A Living Museum You Can Sleep In Staying here feels like stepping into a beautiful dream from another era. Every corner is a work of art. The furniture, the layout, the little details—they all whisper stories of old Indochine charm. It doesn’t feel like a hotel. It feels like you’re actually living in a graceful, historic home. The architecture is stunning, and the garden and pool are simply gorgeous. Peaceful, timeless, and so beautifully kept. The staff are warm and genuinely kind. We used the bikes from the resort to explore town, and it added so much joy to the experience. Breakfast is à la carte, and each dish was delicious—thoughtfully prepared, never rushed. And somehow, every time we stepped out, we came back to a perfectly cleaned room. It’s the kind of care you don’t often see. Satri House isn’t just a stay—it’s a feeling. One I won’t forget.

SShenhuiThis hotel is nestled in a valley, with several acres of rice paddies at its heart, creating a very natural and ecological environment. You'll often see cows, chickens, and cats roaming around. The breakfast selection is quite extensive, and the Chinese food is incredibly authentic. There are two Chinese staff members at the front desk, so communication was seamless for me. Although it's a bit far from the city center, there's a shuttle bus every hour, which makes getting around very convenient. Highly recommend!

GGuest UserSofitel is unique in Luang Prabang. Just as Tao Yuanming described in Peach Blossom Spring: At first it was very narrow, but only then could people pass through. After walking a few dozen steps, it suddenly became open. After checking in, walking through the corridor, you will immediately feel like you are in a paradise. The 26 rooms are arranged in a square circle, with a tree-lined courtyard in the middle, a 25-meter lotus pond on one side, and a swimming pool of the same size on the other side. All rooms are suites with courtyards and outdoor baths. The rooms are simply furnished, clean and beautiful, and the service is very thoughtful. The only drawback is that there is only one restaurant. However, 3 Naga is a sister hotel, and the hotel provides free shuttle bus to the hotel, which also increases the restaurant selection. I love the hotel because I love the city.

GGuest UserWe enjoyed our stay at the 3 star Mekong Charm Hotel, so we decided to stay two night longer than planned. The location is wonderful. The breakfast Terrace is directly above the Mekong river. The hotel manager lives for her work and is very helpful and friendly. We had nothing to care for. She organized a motorcycle and our train trip to Vientiane. If we come back to Luang Prabang this hotel will be our first choice.

MM432069****The hotel's exterior has a strong local flavor; every photo taken there is beautiful. The front desk has Chinese-speaking staff who are very friendly. While the room furnishings are a bit dated, the cleanliness is quite good. Because some rooms are under renovation, there's some dust during the day, but it doesn't affect occupancy. The only downside was that our room was on the second floor facing the street, and the noise from passing motorcycles at night was quite loud and slightly affected our sleep. Those who mind this should consider carefully before choosing this hotel.

GGuest UserThe hotel was lovely, conveniently located near the night market and restaurants, yet tucked away from the main road. The rooms were spacious, clean, and boasted comfortable beds. Breakfast offered a good selection of high-quality items. A welcome drink and fruit were provided upon arrival. The staff were very helpful, providing us with information about local attractions, and we easily rented a moped from the hotel for 180k. The pool area was pleasant, though mostly shaded. Some noise from the main garden area was audible through gaps in the doors, but the hotel was generally quiet, so it wasn't a significant issue.

GGuest UserDisappointing given this was trip.com recommended and had such a high rating. Receptionist barely spoke a word of English, didn't know we had a reservation, didn't know it was pre paid, had to call his boss on then phone to speak English to me to check us in. Room has coffee cups but no kettle, no coffee or tea. Under the cups was mould and dust. Old soap bar and toothbrush at the back of the sink. Asked for toilet paper and got told it was being ordered and would arrive the next day, next day we got nothing. Had to constantly ask for toilet paper and tissues. When we asked to change the towels we were handed a bundle of towels from the floor that were not even folded. The courtyard was messy with open Garbage bags around. The room was generally ok and the beds ok. The shower was good with plenty of very hot water. The lady receptionist and the man were both friendly and tried to help but basically had to call their boss on the phone to do absolutely anything and they were not really able to help with things. We asked about a possible late check out and were advised if we tipped the housekeeper we could stay until about 1:30 as the housekeeper goes home at 2pm and has about 12 rooms to clean that day. We checked out at the checl out time of 11:30 and the house keepers went straight to our room to clean it. Surely if the other 12 rooms all checked out at check out time they woul be cleaning those rooms? And how much do you tip? It was very ambiguous and they said they didn't want to end up charging us if we checked out late. It really seemed like - if you want to check out late then you need to pay our staff for staying longer, we would have been happy to pay an agreed amount but to leave a tip and not suggest an amount was not very clear. It amazes me how this place gets such a good score. The location is good, there are nice restaurants nearby but the service is poor.

GGuest UserI found this gem of a hotel in Luang Prabang, and it was a truly amazing experience! The **Ya Hotel was definitely the biggest surprise of my several-day trip to Luang Prabang! From the moment I landed, I felt the warmth and convenience far exceeded my expectations. The hotel owner is a super nice, handsome Chinese man. A graduate of the National University of Laos, he's not only fluent in Lao but also deeply knowledgeable about local culture and customs. Before we left, we learned that we needed to prepare sticky rice for the morning alms offering. The owner thoughtfully pointed out the best street corner to view it from, and even emphasized the importance of maintaining silence and avoiding casual photography. Every day before heading out, he offered advice on food, drinks, and entertainment, and he always offered expert recommendations—from Laotian hot pot stalls hidden in alleys to authentic French bread at the night market. He even shared his bargaining tips, making it feel like I had a ”walking guide.” The hotel's location is impeccable! Located in the heart of the city, it's a 5-minute walk to the main route for the morning alms offering, allowing you to immerse yourself in this millennium-old Buddhist tradition without having to get up early and rush. Breakfast is particularly plentiful. A three-minute walk takes you to a restaurant on the main road. The aroma wafts from the open kitchen, nestled among bamboo trees. The owner highly recommends the basil, onion, and ground pork with sticky rice, served on a bamboo plate. The meaty aroma, combined with the aroma of the herbs, is incredibly appetizing. For just 15 yuan per person, you'll be completely satisfied. For a French-inspired experience, the corner bakery's freshly baked croissants paired with Laotian black coffee are a local favorite. I was lucky enough to run into a few fellow Tianjin residents who were craving steamed buns and fried dough sticks. The owner arranged everything with just a phone call—really nice! The hotel's location was a must-do for the evening: a 10-minute walk to the Mekong River. Stroll along the banks, watching the silhouettes of fishermen casting their nets fade into the sunset. Then, head to Mount Phousi, a 10-minute walk to its base. Our host had warned us that sunset over Mount Phousi is a must-experience in Luang Prabang. Climbing the cobblestone path, we'd encounter local couples clutching bouquets and tourists clutching cameras. The breeze carried the scent of incense from the mountain temples. We reached the summit just as the sun was setting, and the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers merged below us. The city's old French-style buildings and golden temple domes were bathed in a warm orange. Only when the last rays of light faded and the lanterns below gradually lit up did we reluctantly make our way back. The French Street Night Market is easily accessible from the hotel. Every day after 6 PM, the lanterns on the pedestrian street light up, and strolling there from the hotel is just in time for the night market's peak activity, allowing us to return to our rooms whenever we feel tired. The hotel's newly renovated rooms are bright and comfortable, with a fresh French-Lao design and thoughtful details. During the day, I beat the heat in the pool, the fragrance of frangipani flowers from the garden drifting onto the balcony. In the evening, after watching the sunset from Mount Phousi, I sat on the terrace, sipping a Laotian beer and quietly daydreaming, perfectly recreating the languid rhythm of Luang Prabang. Whether it was a morning shower after watching the alms offerings or a soak after a tiring night market stroll, it was an instant revitalizer. During my few days here, I truly experienced what it means to ”make a foreign country feel ordinary.” The owner, in fluent Lao, helped us with the car rental issue and chatted with my parents in Chinese about itineraries. This sense of trust, transcending language, was incredibly reassuring. If you want to fully experience Luang Prabang—watching monks walk barefoot through the ancient streets in the morning light, watching the sunset over Mount Phousi at dusk, and browsing for handicrafts at the night market—the **A Hotel is a surefire choice. It's an exceptionally cost-effective gem!
