Originally booked this hotel for shits and giggles coz of Anthropic Claude. This place is obsessively clean. I’m talking about the kind of clean that makes you suspicious — like maybe they have a team that just polishes doorknobs all day. Everything is spotless. Even the complimentary laundry room (which, yes, is FREE with detergent pods included) looks surgical. Zero lint. No detergent residue. No mysterious washing machine funk. Just pure, sparkling cleanliness. For someone as particular as me about hygiene, this was an unexpected jackpot. If I could give it 6 stars I would. Location is solid: walking distance to Chinatown, Maxwell Hawker Centre, Keong Saik Road’s fancy food scene, and two MRT stations (Chinatown and Maxwell). The outdoor courtyard smells like fresh lemon balm disinfectant, which is oddly specific but very reassuring. There’s also a complimentary minibar, which feels generous for a compact room. The double bed room I booked was small but accurately described during booking, so no gotcha moments. If you’re short like me, the bed’s perfectly comfortable. They’ve maximized storage cleverly: luggage space, safety box, mini fridge under the bed. The courtyard becomes your unofficial living room since the actual room is just… bed. The Meh The rain shower is a mystery. I still don’t know how to use it without turning the bathroom into a wading pool. The handheld showerhead has weak water pressure, though the bathroom itself is otherwise excellent. So clean!!! You can feel the MRT rumbling underneath (acceptable noise level), but the real problem is Leila, the bar downstairs. If you’re into nightlife, great! If you’re trying to sleep on the second floor, less great. I could hear thumping bar music until late. Front desk was gracious and delivered earplugs promptly when I asked, so points for responsiveness. Walking around during rainy season would be a drag. The Verdict Would stay again for overnight layover purely for the cleanliness. Thanks for the random pick, Claude (both the AI and the hotel). 🧼✨🤖

My stay at Galaxy Pods Chinatown was overall quite average and more suitable for a short budget stay rather than comfort, as the location is definitely convenient and close to MRT and food options, but the sleeping experience was not great—the bed was too hard and thin, making it difficult to rest properly, and the pod itself does not block out noise well, so you can easily hear other guests moving around or talking, which affects sleep quality; while the concept of having a private pod is nice, the facilities and cleanliness feel quite basic and inconsistent, so it’s acceptable if you just need a cheap place to stay for a night or two, but not ideal if you’re looking for comfort or a good, uninterrupted sleep.

The location is good, very clean and a really nice hotel. But the shower at 816 was a bit broken, I think you need to repair it. Amenities are so limited, glad that I bring my own amenities. There's no bidet spray on the toilet, if you really don't want to add it, you can change the type of the toilet because you have so many international visitors. But overall okay, won't complain too much for that price ❤️

I'm used to staying here every time I come to Singapore. It has Wi-Fi and a super cozy, natural wood-themed decor. If you check in during the day and don't know how to do it, you can go to the second floor. There are Chinese staff at the front desk, so no need to speak English. The service attitude is excellent. You need to change into slippers when you enter. The capsule pods have soft cotton mattresses, making it feel like lounging on your own tatami. Each pod has an independent fresh air system, so there's no stuffy feeling at all. The common area also has Japanese comics, really enhancing the atmosphere. Friends who like minimalist Japanese style should definitely give it a try! It's a 3-minute walk from the MRT station.

Sorry for the messy bed, the photo was taken during checkout, not during a housekeeping inspection. The room is really small. Like open the luggage and block the walking path small. The price, however, is not small at all. But well, this is Singapore, if you want more space, you also need more budget . Cleanliness is acceptable, nothing to complain about there. We also had a very memorable morning when the fire alarm decided to be our wake up call. No snooze button. Credit where credit is due, the hotel crew reacted quickly and professionally, and the announcement was loud and clear. Full marks for emergency response. Location wise, it is excellent. Very close to Chinatown MRT, shopping malls, old market, dining places, convenience stores, mini stalls, and the legendary Maxwell Food Centre. Basically, you can survive very well even if you skip the hotel breakfast.

Pros: 1. Excellent location, within a 3-10 minute walk to attractions like Merlion Park, Clarke Quay, and Fort Canning Park. It's also very close to the MRT station. 2. Famous eateries like Founders Bak Kut Teh and Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, as well as a shopping mall, are nearby. 3. The shower and toilet areas are separate for wet and dry use, and gender-segregated. The cleanliness is good. 4. Front desk staff are available to assist with self-service check-in and check-out. 5. The room features a convenient electronic numeric keypad lock, and the air conditioning is available 24/7. Cons: 1. No facilities for self-laundry or drying clothes. The hostel offers paid laundry and drying services at S$6 each. 2. Don't expect much from breakfast; only simple biscuits and coffee are provided.

Welcome to A Hotel Chinatown, a heritage boutique hotel that celebrates the rich cultural fabric of Singapore’s historic heart. Housed in a lovingly restored 1920s shophouse along the storied Keong Saik Road, our hotel invites you to experience a side of the city where the past lingers beautifully amidst the modern rhythm of daily life. Once home to Chinese merchants and later a colourful enclave filled with the stories of generations past, the building retains its Art Deco façade, complete with traditional timber shutters, hand-laid heritage tiles, and intricate ironwork details. Step inside, and you’ll find a thoughtfully redesigned space that blends the romance of old-world Singapore with fresh contemporary comforts — warm woods, clean lines, and soft lighting designed for rest and reflection. Just a 6-minute walk from Outram Park and Chinatown MRT stations, A Hotel Chinatown places you in the middle of a living cultural district. From the vibrant walking streets of Pagoda and Trengganu, to the famed Maxwell Food Centre, Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, and hidden gems like Ann Siang Hill, your journey into Singapore’s heritage begins right at our doorstep. Whether you're here for a soulful escape, a culinary adventure, or a stroll down memory lane, A Hotel Chinatown is more than a place to stay — it’s a place to belong.

A very recommended hotel, located in the heart of Chinatown, it is such a strategic location. The hotel is near food street & MRT. So it is easy to go anywhere and choose anything you want to eat. The staffs are so friendly! The room is also clean with complete amenities. If I have to say one bad thing about this hotel is that it is not soundproof so if the street is noisy then you will hear it full volume from the room. Shout out to Laura, Xue, Gladys, Jeffrey, and Pan! <3 I forgot to take a picture of the room but the room is exactly like what you see on the internet!

First off, the price is unbeatable for Singapore, truly cheap. Secondly, the hygiene is good; it's clean and clearly regularly maintained, making for a comfortable stay. The location is also fantastic, right by Clarke Quay, only 200 meters from the MRT. It's a 700-meter walk to Merlion Park and 300 meters to Chinatown, which is incredibly convenient. I stayed on a weekday and had a private room all to myself, so the arrangements were perfect. The only downside is that there's a bar downstairs, so if you're on the second floor, it might get a bit noisy at night. But considering the price, I can't really complain. If I'm traveling alone again, I'd definitely choose this place!

First capsule hotel experience — exceeded expectations. Capsule room, toilet, reception, and environment were clean, except for a blood stain on the bedsheet. Friendly receptionist during check-in and check-out; guided us through the process clearly and professionally. Shoe locker provided (no shoes in room). About 10 capsules per room. Large luggage lockers available — fit my oversized sports equipment easily. Plenty of toilets. Capsule itself is cozy with two plugs, two small wall-mounted tables, and two additional lockers on the headboard. Roller curtain for privacy. Two powerful central AC units. Strategic location — walking distance to Chinatown attractions, MRT, shops, and eateries. Hawker Chan chicken rice right below the hotel. Downside: stairs only, no lift. Overall, very satisfied and will definitely book again.

GGuest UserThe Shangri-La Singapore boasts an excellent location, offering a serene and elegant environment with beautiful garden views. The check-in experience is relaxing and comfortable. The rooms are spacious, and the bedding is soft and skin-friendly, with a full range of toiletries provided. The overall service is attentive and thoughtful, with warm and polite staff. The breakfast selection is extensive. The only minor drawback is that some facilities are slightly older, but they are well-maintained and clean, which doesn't affect the stay at all. Overall, it offers good value for money, making it a great choice for a trip.

AAishuishui1025## Facilities: The facilities are quite new and spacious enough. However, the online reviews about poor soundproofing and mosquitoes are true. I was woken up in the middle of the night by people chatting next door, possibly returning from their night out. And when people talk in the hallway, it sounds like they're right in your room. ## Environment: Banyan Tree focuses on a pristine, secluded, and very rainforest-like atmosphere. But this particular area is clearly geared towards families, with most guests likely coming for the convenient access to the zoo. However, the overall amenities aren't very family-friendly. The pool closes at 7 PM, so we barely got to use it. ## Hygiene: The room's hygiene was decent, but mosquitoes appeared out of nowhere, and my son ended up with four big bites. ## Service: It was okay; we didn't really experience much in terms of service. But when we asked for directions, they were extremely helpful and guided us precisely. ## Location: The hotel's location is indeed excellent. You can reach the Night Safari directly via a covered walkway, which protects you from rain and sun. ## Breakfast: The Chinese breakfast was just so-so.

--chenchen-The hotel is quite new overall, and the location is super convenient. I only stayed one night for a city layover, so here are the pros and cons: **Pros:** 1. It's very easy to get to all the attractions, many are within walking distance. It's also close to the City Hall MRT station, and popular internet-famous restaurants and coconut milk tea shops are nearby. 2. We checked in with our child, and the staff immediately gave us a little snack bag for the kids. While it's not a family-themed hotel, it made a better impression than some dedicated family hotels. **Minor Cons (not dealbreakers):** 1. We were given an adjoining room, which made me feel quite insecure. I actually moved the coffee table to block the door before I could sleep. 2. The toilet paper in the bathroom was very sparse! And the toilet flush button was incredibly, incredibly hard to press – you needed a lot of force. We initially thought it was broken. 3. We'd just spent three nights in Sentosa where the minibar was fully stocked and complimentary every day. In contrast, this hotel, at a similar price point, had an empty fridge, which was a bit of a shock. It really hit home that 'it's hard to go from luxury to frugality.' 4. Perhaps it's because efficiency is so high back home, but checking into hotels in Singapore feels incredibly slow. My child kept asking when we would finally be done. **Overall:** I'd still recommend this hotel for business travelers and tourists.

GGuest UserI stayed at Lyf Funan Singapore for 2nights as a business traveller. The design is fun and colorful, not your typical hotel vibe. The room is compact but works fine, with a private bathroom, and the sink is outside the bathroom which is actually quite convenient. I stayed in a standard room—it’s okay for couples or friends. The hotel has more of a co-living feel. There’s a shared kitchen, dining area, and even a small workout corner, so it feels more social than a normal hotel. Breakfast was a bitsimple with limited options, just a few simple dishes and some bakery items. I’d recommend skipping it and eating outside instead. Location is definitely a big plus. It’s inside Funan Mall, super convenient for shopping and food. You can also easily walk to places like Fort Canning Park (right across the road), Clarke Quay, and Merlion Park. Overall, nice stay if you like modern design and a lively vibe—just don’t expect too much from the breakfast.

SSheilaOSheilaRelaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. Really good rooms with luscious pillows. The tub was heavenly. The pool was packed with kids but enjoyed my time there to sleep, think and do almost nothing. 3 nights. My only 2 gripes : no smoking room that's enjoyable to be in, and that their coffee is average. I'll definitely give this a 5 star rating for peace, comfort and joy at a decent price.

YYueguangxiadewanzilunFor a country as expensive as Singapore 🇸🇬, a hostel priced in the 100s is definitely great value for money. Many local Chinese people stay here, and you can learn about Singapore's history by chatting with them. The closest MRT stations are Lavender and Jalan Besar, and it's also very near Little India, making it super convenient to get to all of Singapore's major attractions. There's a food court right downstairs, which is probably one of the cheapest dining options in Singapore, helping you save a lot on food. I stayed here for three days and thought it was pretty good!

AAnonymous UserUgh, I forgot to take photos, so I'll use some random ones instead. First off, I chose this place because it's super close to Universal Studios, and I figured a chain hotel wouldn't be too bad. But the price wasn't exactly cheap – I paid over 480 for a queen room. I know hotels in Singapore are pricey, so this was within my expected budget; I'd already come to terms with the cost. The front desk staff were all really nice. However, my heart sank when I opened the door. The room was tiny, and they don't provide slippers, toothbrushes, or cups, citing environmental reasons... though if you ask the front desk for a toothbrush, they'll give you one. For cleanliness, I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 – not terrible, but not outstanding either. It's a small room but has all the essentials, though you definitely can't fit two suitcases in there; it felt really cramped. On the bright side, the soundproofing seemed pretty good. I'm not sure if there were no other guests or if everyone was just incredibly considerate, but I didn't hear any noise. Plus, I was so exhausted from sleeping at the airport the night before that I slept like a log. It was the best night's sleep of my entire trip, and I was genuinely shocked that I slept best in the smallest room... Oh, and the shower gel and shampoo are all-in-one, so if you're particular, you might want to bring your own.
