Hotels near Iowa State Capitol Building, Des Moines

The snowstorms have started early in Iowa so I was extremely happy to walk into the warm hotel and check in. The desk clerk was friendly but not overly so. Check in was very quick and I was quickly on my way to a beautiful and blessedly warm room. Noise was a bit loud as wedding guests came in after 1am and I was near the elevators. Check out was seamless and breakfast at the hotel cafe was quick, friendly and tasty.

Poor lighting, couldn’t figure out how to just turn on 1 light. Bathroom lights to bright to keep light on all night. You should install small night light in bathroom. Refrigerator too small and u need coffee maker in room Beds comfortable, bedding cozy, and quiet room. Thanks for great weekend in Des Moines.

We came up to watch a football game at Drake with little kids and had a great stay! The ice cream shop around the corner is NOT to miss! Huge breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend.

Newer facilities, front desk staff service, general restaurant, breakfast, dinner, can go to a restaurant outside to eat, no other choice, good choice for early flight, drop-off service can be less than seven or eight minutes to the airport

The staff was so friendly! We had a bit of miscommunication between the hotel and trip.com regarding payment, but they got it worked out quickly and the staff were quick to make things right for us! We enjoyed both the hot tub & pool and both were exactly what we needed!! The hotel was far enough from downtown to be peaceful but close enough that everything was accessible. The biggest thing that stood out was how accommodating the staff were. Absolutely recommend.

Excellent service from Tracey and her team. She was so kind, helpful and friendly. All staffs at the reception was so welcoming. Rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. Beds were so comfy and had a good night sleep. Breakfast was delicious with variety of choices. We wished to have stayed here longer but had to catch a flight the next day. Definitely returning in the future. Highly recommend to everyone visiting Des Moines. Thanks to every staffs for making our stay amazing!!

All is good, people very helpful and warm. Very good shuttle to airport, just not sure why they gave me a room at 2nd floor which is actually on a platform for ventilation or warming system equipment, kind of noisy but I am on jet lag and can’t sleep well anyway.

The location of the hostel was very good.The hotel restaurant was great for dinner and there was a park nearby so it was nice to walk around. Room condition was very good

The hotel was so great. Perfect location, nice staff, clean room. Would definitely recommend as an affordable hotel to stay while in DTDM

They couldn’t accept my card and asked take 100$ cash from them ATM WITH 3.5$ charge! I was there only for one night!
