"Two separate sets of elevators. We were in the ”house” section. Room was small and have never experienced 2 twin beds in a hotel until now. Location for price is good. I figured out too late that we could have taken the train/tran to the Convention center for $1.25 each way or $3 a day. There are 3 rail platforms less than a block from the hotel to take you north, south, east or west. Great bars and restaurant within walking distance."

But unfortunately, even a high-end brand such as Marquis Marriott is generally not feasible in the United States. The lobby is quite atmospheric, a bit like a domestic Sheraton. I thought, ”Great! I finally found a hotel brand in the United States that is comparable to a domestic hotel brand.” Unfortunately, the room was small and not bright. Marquis Marriott in China is so comfortable that they don't want to leave the room. I feel that leaving a second is a waste of such a good environment, but this Marquis Marriott's room, I don't have the feeling of wanting to stay in the room. , horizontally benchmarking domestic Atour.
In terms of service, there is no turndown, and everything is very formulaic when checking in. It is not impolite, but it is very cold. It feels like a cashier in a supermarket. These are not seen in the domestic Marquis Marriott, or at least not. allowed to appear.
In general, the Marquis Marriott is clean and tidy, the staff is polite, and it is no problem to sleep, but that's all, it is not a hotel worth exploring."

"It's an old hotel, so even though it was remodeled, I was worried when I went in.
I thought it was because the lobby and reception were ordinary.
Oh my goodness, the room was clean and very modern~~~
What was disappointing was the pillow, which I had not seen anywhere else in the world.
It was a pillow with a lot of cotton tangled together, but it wasn't uncomfortable.
It was even quite comfortable. On the other hand, I wonder if it was clean since even the cotton was washed.
I also wanted to haha
And since it's an old hotel, even if it's remodeled, the plumbing can't be changed.
There probably wasn't one.

"The room was clean and tidy! Stayed for three days and two nights, no one came to clean the room the next day! No one changed the towels! Room facilities are OK, the air conditioner comes down from the roof just above the bed, uncomfortable! Fortunately, you can adjust the temperature. Good location."

Nestled in a residential area, its location was incredibly convenient, offering a tranquil retreat just a bike ride away from the city center—less than 10 minutes to be exact. This made for peaceful nights, ensuring a restful sleep in a safe environment.
The hostel is run by a delightful couple whose hospitality knew no bounds. They were not only eager to assist with any issues that arose but also went above and beyond by providing bicycles. This thoughtful touch significantly enhanced my mobility around Houston, allowing me to reach various destinations swiftly.
What set this hostel apart was the attention to detail and the array of complimentary amenities, including cookies, milk, cereal, coffee, and tea. The cleanliness and smart technology throughout the house contributed to a seamless stay, making it the best hostel experience I've ever had. The bathroom towels folded into swan shapes were a testament to the owners' dedication to detail, adding a touch of elegance and care.
The warmth of the place was akin to being at home, with the owners always ready for a chat, eager to answer questions, and share their stories and experiences. A highlight for me was the world map on the living room wall, where guests could pin their home countries—a fun and interactive way to connect with fellow travelers.
In summary, this hostel was more than just a place to stay; it felt like a home, or perhaps more accurately, a homestay. It's undoubtedly the best hostel I've ever stayed in globally, blending the comfort of a home with the adventurous spirit of a hostel.

I recently stayed at the Thompson Houston and overall had a great experience, especially thanks to the excellent service. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and professional. Their attention to detail really made me feel welcomed, and I was touched when they surprised me with a graduation cake — a thoughtful gesture I truly appreciated.
The hotel breakfast was a highlight. The food was fresh and well-prepared, and once again, the service stood out. Dining in the morning felt like a treat thanks to the welcoming atmosphere.
That said, there were a few downsides that affected my stay. The room was quite noisy, even late into the night. It was hard to relax or fall asleep with the amount of outside noise coming through.
Also, I ordered in-room dining on two occasions. On the first day, everything was great. However, the next day the fries were noticeably soggier, the salad was just a bowl of greens with six tiny avocado cubes, and — most concerning — the aioli on the side looked like it had already been used.
Overall, Thompson Houston left a positive impression on me, mostly due to its exceptional staff and quality breakfast. I hope they can improve the soundproofing and ensure consistency in their in-room dining service.
