Hotel Broletto - Centro Storico
8.4 (38 reviews)

Hotel Broletto - Centro Storico ★★★

📍 Via Accademia 1, Mantova

"I absolutely loved my three night stay at Hotel Broletto. The room was fabulous – spacious, well equipped, clean and stylish. There was a Lavazza Espresso machine in the room for that early morning coffee, luxury hygiene products in the bathroom, a fully stocked complimentary mini bar, and a comfortable bed. The en-suite has everything you need. Everything was in good condition and fresh. There is a lift too – never to be underestimated. The hotel breakfast is a typical Italian fare but really well done. A variety of fresh cornettos, pastries and cakes every day, fruits, cheeses, meats, breads, cereals, and a cappuccino machine. Winning! They have a convivio station set up in the breakfast room during the day and evening for anyone who would like a hot drink or snack. The standout though would have to be the hotel staff, Nicole, Anita, Deborah and in particular – Diletta, who went out of her way to ensure my stay was everything I wanted and perhaps didn’t know I needed. She was absolutely brilliant, cheerful, helpful, lots of great tips and suggestions which made my stay a breeze. Communication was excellent before, during and even after leaving. The location is central to everything you want to do and see. This hotel is a 10/10 in every way. I am very glad I chose to visit Mantova/Mantua and that I chose Hotel Broletto."

Grand Hotel San Lorenzo

Grand Hotel San Lorenzo ★★★★

📍 Piazza Concordia, 14, Mantova

"Very atmospheric. This wasn't our first stay, and everything was excellent. The location is superb, right in the center. The room is comfortable, and the breakfast is excellent. The hotel terrace is stunning. The staff is always helpful, especially with parking. The hotel is in a ZTL zone, so you have to drive around a lot to find somewhere to park and then to the parking lot. It would be nice if the hotel sent customers a suitable route with street names in advance so they don't run into roadblocks using their GPS. But this inconvenience is completely compensated by the hotel's location. We will book again."

"Spacious rooms, air conditioned ok, standard but functional line accessories for practical needs, large parking, comfortable location with bus line no. 5 direction historic center in a few minutes, you can make the ticket on board with credit card or payments. Historical center is also reachable walking in about 20 minutes. In the vicinity, a supermarket and a great coffee shop, focceria. We have been assisted by the very gentle hotel secretary, Ms Emmanuelle (I hope I have written right)"

Hotel la Favorita ★★★★

📍 Via S, Via Salvatore Cognetti de Martiis, 1, Mantova

"Antiseptic. Bizarre lighting system in room. Stained hall carpets. Layout of bathroom: toilet near the bed separated by a translucent sliding door. Location in the middle of office structures and parking lots. Suburban rim - not walking distance to the city. If there is a shuttle service no one told us."

Hotel Mantegna Stazione ★★★

📍 Piazza Sordello 13 Piazza Sordello 52 Piazza Don Leoni 25/27, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 89, Mantova

"The bed was clean, but the shower wasn't cleaned thoroughly and there was hair in it. Other than that, I have no complaints. There was a large supermarket nearby, and the room had a refrigerator, which was convenient."

Hotel Casa Poli ★★★★

📍 Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi, 32, Mantova

"Clean and spacious rooms. Great ending to our two week trip. We stayed in 5 different hotels/B&B’s and this was by far the best! Don’t let the street approach give you a bad first impression, nothing beautiful or eye catching about the outside of the building (except the large modern door!). Not sure about parking as we arrived by Taxi but the staff is friendly and helpful so I would contact them for suggestions. The breakfast was the best we’ve had in Italy or Switzerland. Large variety and attentive staff. Excellent experience."

"The hotel room was large and well-equipped, and in a prime location. However, it was quite noisy during my stay, with furniture being moved around morning and evening."

"This place was fantastic. Right across the street from the train station. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful with restaurant suggestions. They have a little courtyard off the office which is a very pleasant place to enjoy a glass of wine which they graciously provided my wife and I. The room was very nice and quiet. Without hesitation I would stay here again."

"Quite a long way from the railway station, so a taxi is a good bet. Small hotel, quiet and comfortable, very good value for money and very friendly and helpful reception staff. Breakfast only, but plenty of excellent restaurants within a couple of minutes’ walk."

"Depressing room overlooking an apocalyptic, "The Last of Us"-style view of an abandoned shopping mall. The walls were like tissue paper, I heard the others snoring, and I couldn't sleep a wink. The breakfast was awful, and the restaurant was awful. There wasn't even water in the mini-fridge. I asked for a spoon for dinner in the room (Deliveroo) and after an hour I had to go out to get one myself. The bathroom water ran yellow at times. The elevator, despite only being full twice, took forever to go up and down, with epic waits. I'd rather sleep in my car than sleep in my car."

Hotel la Favorita ★★★★
"I stayed in a single room, it was basic, there was no kettle in the room or a mirror in bedroom, had to use the bathroom one. The bathroom was nice and clean. The room had lots of storage and a minibar. I didn't get any bottles of water in my room until the second day. The air conditioning/heating hard to control, so I just ended up turning it off. It was also unusual that the rooms don't have door handles on the outside, so had to make sure the door was definitely closed. Breakfast was decent, lots of bread and pastries, some hot food and self service hot drinksand juice. The hotel seems to be in a business park, near to some shops and across the street from McDonald's, but not sure how to get across. "

"The hotel was conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from Mantua station, the room was clean and more than spacious enough for one person, and it wasn't too far from tourist attractions, so I think I had a really great trip."

"A wonderful hotel within walking distance of the historic center, yet not in the ZTL zone. Comfortable room and bathroom. Parking is available nearby on the next street. Breakfast was good. The staff was very helpful, explaining and showing us how to get to the parking lot."
