Nestled in the Cloud Grassland of Northeast Asia Scenic Area, Guanshansu Hotel is a striking red retreat nestled among the mountains of Shenyang. With the unique crispness and tenderness of summer, it keeps urban hustle and bustle at bay and embraces the poetry of nature.
Mountain breezes drift through the rooms, carrying the fresh scent of grass and trees with a high concentration of 58,700 negative oxygen ions per cubic centimeter, turning the entire hotel into a natural oxygen bar. The smart, comfortable guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the magical forest and vast cloud grassland. Step outside, and you will see endless green fields, alpacas and sika deer wandering leisurely on the pasture, and the 520‑meter grass sledding slope stretching like a green ribbon into the distance.
By day, you can chase the wind across the grassland and wander through the woods as clouds drift over the hills. As night falls, the galaxy shines brightly above, and you can sit quietly by the window with a cup of warm tea, watching the moonlight outline the mountains, turning slow mountain time into inner peace.
With the softness of rolling grasslands and the tranquility of the clouds, this hotel captures all the relaxation and romance of summer in the mountains. It is the ideal retreat to escape the heat and embrace nature.
"Overall, there are both pros and cons, but the overall value for money is okay.
Pros
1. It's very close to the ski resort, and there's an unlimited shuttle bus. The ski pass is included in the package, so you don't have to buy it separately, which is very convenient.
2. The set meal includes a meal, with a choice of braised pork or beef with potatoes. The taste was okay, not amazing, but there's not much else to eat near the ski resort, so having the set meal saved a lot of trouble.
3. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Cons
1. Because we arrived early in the morning, we contacted the hotel in advance, and they said they would leave the room card at the front desk. We checked in at the hotel, but we arrived after 3:00 AM and the card didn't work. We called the hotel several times but couldn't get through. Because the hotel is so remote, we couldn't change hotels, which really dampened our mood. We're so grateful to Ctrip's customer service for patiently helping us resolve the issue in the middle of the night. They contacted the hotel manager and let us check in, but the process took over 40 minutes, which was really exhausting! (No one contacted us afterward. We only happened to run into the manager and brought it up with her, who sincerely explained and apologized.)
2. The hot water in the shower was also a bit of a problem, fluctuating between hot and cold.
3. The hotel seemed understaffed, and the front desk was often empty. If I needed to contact someone, it would be difficult to find them."
