"The location of the hotel is very good, especially suitable for driving by car. There is a parking space and it is only more than 100 meters into the town. The hotel room is large enough, the bathroom is good, and the bedding and pillows are relatively comfortable. However, the breakfast variety is small, but I usually only stay for one day, so it's not a big problem."

The staff were friendly, the breakfast was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the rooms were spacious. It was a memorable place during my trip to Italy. I had a great time with my girlfriend. "Poggio Tobruk is your place for a dream holiday in Toscana. You can find it 50 km south from Siena, locating in the heart of the most beautiful part of Toscana, Val d´Orcia. When you are looking the landscape from surrounding hills, you will always see Poggio Tobruk in the middle. The hotel is comfortable and clean. We had a spacious apartment with bedroom, own kitchen and nice balcony. The owner Marco is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is served with a wide selection of coffees, bread, cold cuts, cheese, yoghurt, muesli + cake of the day. Breakfast time is between 8:30-10:00. We think it should start a little bit earlier. The nearest town is Pienza 10 km away and the nearest neighbor is 2 km away. In this hotel you definitely need a car."

"The hostel is in the scenic area, seven or eight minutes walk from the bus station. You can see the beautiful scenery on the roof, and it is very pleasant to have dinner and drink at the sunset. Rooms have a kettle and coffee maker The breakfast was very rich and delicious. Auntie also peeled me two eggs and two cups of cappuccino."

"Agriturismo Bonello is a charming accomodation, created and mantained with love. The views around are stunning, the place itself offers multiple cozy nooks to chill at and the rooms such as the estate are clean and beautiful. The host is very kind and welcoming! The agriturismo is close to Pienza, which is for me one of the most pittoresque and cute villages of Tuscany, but also in easy distance to other well-known Tuscan cities. Nothing to complain - would come back! Pro tip: buy some of the locally produced olive oil!!"

"We’ve been travelling around Tuscany for the last week and have stopped off at several places, and sadly we felt that while Podere Spedalone was fine it did not match our other stays in terms of satisfaction and value for money. To start with the positives the room was characterful, and clean, with a bright modern bathroom. The views and surroundings were fantastic, and we were very taken with the 3 indolent dogs which were in evidence most of the time. They were lovely, liking being fussed but not demanding attention. Coffee was great and the breakfast varied and plentiful The cons were that the room was much smaller than others we had stayed in, but that wasn’t too much of an issue. For us the real let down was the evening meal. We booked for the communal meal as it had been highly recommended by other reviewers. We checked the menu on arrival as it was a set meal to ensure we happy with it and went ahead as planned. The meal started well with a lovely convivial reception in the garden, with appetitifs and Prosecco. The first course was lasagne as promised which was fine but then the main course arrived and rather than beef it was a game stew. Neither of us like game, and while my husband ate a (very little) of his. I tasted it and immediately realised I couldn’t eat it. The main course was now reduced to half a carrot and two pieces of celery: not a meal that reflects the price. To make it worse, we were not informed the menu had changed, and when my plate was cleared no effort was made to enquire if I was satisfied given that I hadn’t eaten any of the meat. When I told the receptionist I was unhappy the response was merely that he would check with/inform the kitchen and then charged me full price. I suspect that it was possible he wasn’t entirely clear about my complaint and as it is my issue that I can’t speak Italian. I would have liked to see some redress. Al in all, an ok hotel but the food certainly didn’t live up to expectations for the price"
