Romantic Hotels in Cambridge

"This is one of my top recommended hotels within the Cambridge University graduate student area. I frequently book this hotel for our professors and students, and every time, I receive excellent feedback. On July 17th and 18th, there was a very large event in this new research district, which was just a 3-minute walk from the hotel. It was incredibly convenient, and everyone had a great time! 😀 The biggest advantage of the hotel is its extremely convenient transportation. There's a U Bus stop right near the entrance, providing direct access to Cambridge city center and the train station, making it perfect for visiting scholars, students, or first-time visitors to Cambridge. A large supermarket is just a two or three-minute walk away, making daily shopping very easy. The surrounding neighborhood is pleasant, with many excellent restaurant options. The hotel breakfast offers a wide variety and excellent quality, ensuring a pleasant start to each day. Overall, whether it's the accommodation environment, location, or convenience, it's an ideal choice for anyone studying, working, or visiting Cambridge. I will definitely continue to recommend it to professors, students, and friends."

"They can provide a sofa bed for families with children. I initially thought this was a new hotel and would be safe based on reviews, but upon checking in, I noticed a strong smell of salted fish in the hallway. Our room 221's bathroom had a severe odor problem! It was really stinky! On the first floor, there's a 24-hour snack bar (very convenient, but quite expensive), and even near the fridge, you can smell a sewer-like odor! It seems like the hotel's overall infrastructure isn't well-maintained. It's within walking distance to the Cambridge punting dock and King's College. The front desk staff was very friendly. Parking across the street is indeed expensive; we parked there for one night, then moved the car to Castle Hill Carpark the next morning (charges are as follows). If you park at Castle Hill overnight the day before, it's free, but it's about a 15-minute walk back to the hotel."

"The staff absolutely brilliant! The hotel full of characters, the design and layout are fantastic. Certainly I love it. The room I had is at the top floor ( kind of loft ) as I booked only for one person myself. It’s gorgeous when the front and back windows open, the breeze was amazing especially when the temperature was 38 degree in a no air conditioning hotel. One view through the window is River Cam and Jesus Green. Also steps away from my daughter’s college accommodation. It’s the reason why I chose to stay here.  Only thing is that no lift  and no air conditioning for the whole of hotel, if you come here for summer, better to check weather first if you can bare the heat , and whether you are heavy travellers, I mean if you need lift up down the room with your luggages or personal health conditions. I m not heavy traveller myself this time, but my daughter was moving her uni stuff to a new accommodation, we had to move some of her stuff into the hotel room first , then later moving into her new accommodation after certain checking in time by college policy, so we were very struggling to carry the large suitcases up and down . Saying this, we d like to thank the staff from reception who offered to carry two large suitcases up to my room at the top floor when the temperature was 38 degree. As I was kind of in a shock about no air conditioning in a hotel for such high temperature and forgot to leave him a tip. I d love to do so if I visit again and see him.  Anyway thanks the hotel and  the staff very much for having me there few days. A very special thanks to the guy at the reception who helped us to get our two large luggages to my room. You are absolutely an amazing example to present your hotel. The way you treating your customers is very professional, thoughtful, kind and appreciated. Thank you."

"Great stay at Turing Locke. We were upgraded to a one-bedroom suite with a fully-equipped kitchen and modern bathroom. The hotel and room were clean, neat and elegant and service was very good. The surrounding area was quiet and scenic and in the direct vivinity of a large Sainsbury's and a fantastic coffee shop, Dulcedo, as well as within walking distance of Girton College. There is easy access to Cambridge city centre and Cambridge station via regular buses. Would definitely stay here again."

"The hotel is located just a 2 minute walk from Cambridge station in a modern area of Cambridge and is only a short 15-20 minute walk into the City centre. The rooms are modern and spacious, with a high quality finish. The service was first class, all staff were very fiercely, courteous and helpful. Breakfast was excellent too. Would thoroughly recommend, especially if you’re celebrating a special occasion."

"Minimalist and Comfortable Guest Room Design: Streamlined Artistic Headboard Wall—The room's most striking feature is the headboard wall, which utilizes wallpaper in shades of gray featuring fluid lines and imagery reminiscent of tree rings, adding dynamic visual interest to the clean space. Abundant Natural Light—Large floor-to-ceiling windows, paired with dual-layered beige and gray curtains that drape vertically, balance natural illumination with privacy control."

"A dream hotel! This was my absolute favorite hotel during my UK trip, bar none. The rooms are exquisite. We booked two rooms this time, a loft suite and a king room. The price difference wasn't huge, but the suite was incredible – it had a kitchen, a living room, and a bedroom, it was fantastic. The air conditioning worked great, and the breakfast was delicious. It's about 1km from Cambridge University, easily accessible. There are temporary parking spots out front, and overnight parking in the basement, so no worries there. Two points for domestic travelers to note: 1. The EV charging station app in the basement cannot be downloaded or used by iPhones in mainland China or Hong Kong. Friends with electric cars should be aware of this. 2. The immediate area isn't particularly safe. When I went to the supermarket, I noticed that the people around seemed a bit questionable, especially if you go further north. For those concerned about safety, just avoid wandering around the area at night. The hotel itself is excellent and meets most needs."

"The location is excellent, right next to the ferry terminal. The decor has a grand vintage style, and the room facilities are complete with comfortable bedding. It's a bit far from the train station, about a twenty-minute walk. The staff are warm and attentive, and the breakfast is a standard English breakfast with excellent quality. Overall, it was a very good experience."

"If you want your room cleaned, you need to inform the front desk by 12 PM that morning. Otherwise, they won't clean it, even if you verbally request housekeeping in the afternoon. This policy wasn't communicated in advance; it was only posted in the elevator, so it's easily missed."

"The prime location is the most appealing about this hotel. The room was comfortable and contained all the necessities required. Pleasant stay. Unfortunately on a Saturday at 7am there was an accidental fire alarm but non of the reception staff seemed to know how to inform guests that it was an ‘accident’ so many guests were left wondering where to go and if it was real and it caused a lot of confusion."
