"Well, there's not much to say. The rooms are small, but there's air conditioning, which is really worth it. I also appreciate the self-check-in option. However, I would have liked to have received that information the day before. Otherwise, the location is very good."

"We enjoyed the Baliyana Lodge very much. The owners were very friendly and pleasant people and they put their personal touch into making our stay a wonderful experience. The breakfasts were amazing. The cabin was private and beautiful and we slept well in a comfortable bed. The infinity pool overlooking the mountain forest was breathtaking. Amazing wildlife all around in this peaceful setting. The drive was its own experience as the roads were heavily damaged by the rains, but the Baliyana Lodge was well worth it. Highly recommend - a perfect 10 experience!"

Zulu Surf Hotel Tamarindo ★★★
"Hotel very well located in the center of Tamarindo. Several restaurant and entertainment options nearby. Spacious, well-equipped and clean rooms. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The hotel also has partnerships with other tourism companies and service providers. For example, surfing lessons, snorkeling tours and even a day trip to Nicaragua were available at reception."

Hotel Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort ★★★★
"The hotel is a bit old, but it is well maintained, very clean, and has a very good holiday feeling. The location is especially good. The town center is very lively and good for shopping (the Pizaa restaurant next to it is delicious). The hotel faces the sea, which is almost a private beach. The beach is of very good quality, with clear water and fine sand, extending far away and not deep. Although it is not as beautiful as the sea in Cancun, it is more suitable for playing (especially surfing). Although it is a public beach, the hotel's own lawn area is very large. You can rest under the benches and coconut trees in the hotel. You can go down two steps to the beach, so you don't need to go to the beach to compete with everyone for a position. The beach is very clean and popular. There are many surfboard rentals and surfing courses. You can even get a massage on the beach, which is very interesting. Tamarindo is a tourist hotspot. You can find a local travel agency to sign up for many short tours. We signed up for a 3-hour tour to watch turtles lay eggs in one night (November to April is the turtle laying season every year), which is very interesting. We only stayed for one night, but staying one more night would be more relaxing. In short, it is worth recommending."

Wyndham Tamarindo ★★★
"Tamarindo is a fun beach town, lots of restaurants and of course the beach. The pros: incredible view, free shuttle to the town, access to the Langosta Beach Club, helpful staff. The cons: location a little far from town, can’t walk it. And the BIG con were the locusts. They were everywhere, especially at night. This are huge (8-10 inch) insects that look like huge grasshoppers. My kids freaked out because these things fly around and land on you sometimes. The Wyndham staff can’t control it, but they are helpful to remove them from your door. If you’re grossed out by large insects, just be aware."

"Great location. No parking. It doesn’t help that there is no staff member to help. I had to go to the coffee shop next door to get help."

Baliyana Lodge ★★★
"My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in this tropical paradise. The only complaint we have is 2 nights was not long enough- we wished we had booked longer! Our hosts, Yannick and Nathalie were absolutely wonderful! They are such kind, courteous and accommodating people and made our stay even better. They were so informative too amd helped us with local destinations and advised us on not only the best places to visit, but also the best ways to get there, whilst also sending us links via Google maps. What they have done to their property is beyond stunning. As you walk through the garden, you are filled with a sense of peace and harmony. The beautiful pool is perfectly located, giving you views of the jungle for miles. The plants and trees attract a wide range of wildlife and I've never seen so many butterflies! I felt an inner sense of peace that I've never felt whilst relaxing with nothing but the sounds of nature around me. The lodges are equally as beautiful. It is clear that they have been designed with love and care. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was just right, and the water is ready to drink from the tap. Tea and coffee is supplied as are showering towels and extra towels for the pool. It was also immaculately clean. Sitting in the porch at night was phenomenal. We heard howler monkeys! Do take mosquito repellent though as you are in the jungle and you will get bitten. This is no reflection on the accommodation though- you are in the jungle so expect it! Breakfast was also lovely. Tea and coffee served with ice cold water and fruit juice. Fresh fruit followed by eggs made the way you like them and toast with a selection of jams. All of this is consumed whilst looking out at the breathtaking view. The roads to get to this idyllic haven are rugged. It is a very bumpy ride but again, it is in the jungle so expect it. I would happily drive these roads over and over again though if it means staying at Baliyana Lodge. Thank you so much Yannick and Nathalie. You made this part of our honeymoon perfect and we will always cherish you for that!"
