"The original plan was to stay here for only one night, and then rush to stay near Nara Park after visiting the Nintendo Museum the next day, so that I could get up early to feed the deer. However, it is really comfortable to live nearby. I really like this kind of small town with few people. Considering that Nara is not far away, I simply stayed one more night and took the rail transit to Nara the next day. It is recommended to stroll around the roads around the B&B, the matcha factory store, the large farmland, the children catching frogs, the teenagers practicing baseball, and the several nearby hotels."
"The hotel is right next to the Uji River, and we could see water birds and egrets in the river just by opening the balcony window. Definitely remember to close the balcony door at night, or you'll be dealing with all sorts of moths! 😭
The hotel has its own hot spring. The men's bath is on the first floor and the women's is on the third, and a soak really helps relieve travel fatigue.
Breakfast was very plentiful and a traditional Japanese set meal, which was quite unique. It's very close to Byodo-in Temple and Uji Shrine. We even paid our respects to the Moon God this trip, wishing for our desires to come true.
Uji is beautiful and unlike Osaka and Kyoto, it's not packed with tourists. I recommend staying for a night to truly experience its tranquil Japanese atmosphere."
"The front desk was friendly, and they even helped me pick up my mail (it arrived about three days before check-in). I had a comfortable stay in many ways. The shower pressure was good, and the fridge was fully stocked. They don't provide complimentary water. However, upon entering my room, there was an unnatural smell, like disinfectant. My friends' rooms were fine, but mine... I got used to it quickly. I'd love to stay at this hotel again next time I'm in Uji."
"The B&B is not far from JR Uji Station and Keihan Uji Station. You can visit Nishibashi Bridge (Uji Bridge) and Kumiko Talking Center (Salia) on the way to check in. The surrounding area is very quiet. The path is dark at night, but it feels like Uji is a very simple city, so I didn’t feel scared at all.
The room is clean and there are snacks and drinks in the common area.
When I left the store, I received two delicious chocolates from the staff.

Friends who are visiting Kyobuki, please note that Kumiko’s flying figure has been moved from Matsun to Bar Kaguya."
"The owner is friendly and the facilities are good. Water purifier in the room. Personal lockers are provided, but there is no TV. The advantage is that I only saw the owner when I first greeted him, and even check-out was unmanned. Recommended during the off-season. It is possible to share a 4-person room by yourself. Because it is Uji, the location is a bit out of the way, but it is not far from Kyoto Station."
"Decent for budget travelers. Mostly self-service. If you’re a single female traveler, you might feel uncomfortable since the hotel proprietor isn’t there, though he is available online."
A Japanese-style inn with a quiet atmosphere, 3-minute walk from Uji and Byodoin.
