The lobby's visual art, a Guinness World Record holder, is even more stunning in person than in pictures! Our hotel butler, Ethan Zhang, provided warm and attentive service. We'd love to come back!"

"The hotel upgraded me to a river view room, and overall it was pretty good, not as old as I imagined. Trip.com said it would be renovated in 2025, and after asking the hotel, they confirmed it's a soft renovation/upgrade. The river view is truly fantastic, and it offers great value for money. Breakfast is on the 34th floor, I think, and the view there is also amazing!"

"The hotel is conveniently located and quite new, as it hasn't been open for long. Situated on a higher floor, it offers good city views from the window. The in-room amenities are quite comprehensive, featuring smart voice control and a smart toilet. A minor detail to note: the hairdryer should really be upgraded to a Dyson or equivalent; hotels of this caliber have already made such upgrades. The breakfast area has a nice ambiance, and while the variety is decent, more options would be welcome. The hotel shares a building with the US Consulate, so you'll need to show your ID to enter the building when returning at night."

"Chose this room and hotel due to the iconic Hankou Custom and river views. Was quite surprised that it's on the end of the pedestrian street, which makes strolling and shopping very practical. Being one of highest room category, somehow I feel the balcony experience can be further improved, as the main selling point is the view from the balcony. The whole balcony experience does not encourage guests to spend more time there? Quality and elegance of chairs, table, plant settings? Free drinks from the cafe is appreciated, and a token of free gift at checkout in the form of Ai Zi pastry makes you feel like you are visiting family and given some food to snack on for the road. Definitely one of the most iconic hotels in Wuhan, must try."
East Lake Hotel
"Choosing Building No. 2 at Donghu Hotel Tingtao for my first trip to Wuhan was definitely the right decision. The hotel grounds are beautiful, with towering trees everywhere and a vast bamboo forest. Donghu Lake is right outside Building No. 2, and seeing the shimmering water every day, along with the fresh scent of plants in the air, made me incredibly happy. The hotel rooms are very clean, and the service is excellent; the electric shuttle in the park is almost always available on demand. You can also book a visit to Chairman Mao's former residence and take a shuttle tour of the grounds. The guest rooms even have robots that deliver takeout very quickly. The only downside was the mediocre breakfast; we only booked it for one day and ate out for the rest of our stay. If I ever go to Wuhan again, I'll definitely stay here."
