3-Star Hotels in Chiapas, Mexico

The rooms are not appropriate for a family. They are the size of a single bedroom and it is incredibly difficult to even walk through the room. Cockroaches were present at our arrival, which prompted us to leave and seek to stay somewhere else. Very supportive and understanding staff, but misleading in their explanations of “double rooms” which are just two individual bunk beds.

Cuando me retiraba entregue las llaves de la habitación 09, me dijeron que checarían el interior de la habitación y si podía esperar, a lo que accedí y tomé asiento. Posteriormente una señorita del turno matutino, me dijo que hacía falta un tapete de baño y que si podían revisar mi maleta, a lo cual al principio si me molestó porque sé que no llevaba nada. Revisaron mi maleta ella y un encargado de la limpieza, no conformes de ver qué no había nada en mi mochila insistían que regresara el tapete. A lo cual ya tuve que exaltarme y decirles que no tenía ningún tapete, aún así el de limpieza intento abrir un cierre donde solo entran identificaciones y dinero, fue donde le dije que no se les ocurriera abrir ahí, porque llevaba mi dinero solamente. Posteriormente, solo me dijo una persona de sexo masculino, que se encontraba en recepción que me retirara. La verdad muy muy molesto les dije que era última vez que me hospedo ahí. Se me hace de mal gusto, que me incriminen de esa forma y frente a todos en el lobby; ya que deberían tener protocolos para hacerlo, no de esta forma tan denigrante y prepotente, ya que solo demuestran la ineptitud de su personal y falta de profesionalismo.

The staff's attention is very good, the price-quality ratio is equal, I understand they are being re-designed and so some small details in the facilities, for all the rest, I just like to congratulate them, definitely my favorite hotel in this destination, I recommend it

My husband and I stayed at the Fiesta Inn For 13 days. We were there for a family graduation and family visits in Tuxtla. We 1st want to acknowledge excellent customer service by a few employees. Don't get me wrong everyone was great but these particular employees stood out on their customer service. Asahi Gomez in room service, Joel waiter in restaurant , our lady who cleaned our room and the woman chef who came out to speak with customers. These employees should be highly acknowledged by fiesta inn as having excellent customer service and we thank them for everything making our stay there very special. We can't say enough about the hotel it was clean modern and comfortable. The food in the restaurant to us was excellent and every single thing we ate was great. We definitely give this a 5 star and we'll be back as soon as we can. One more thing the hotel is located in the center of a mall. You have tons of shopping and stores and a Cinemax , food anything you want in the mall and it was very entertaining.

IHG should be ashamed to have this hotel in their portfolio. It is definitely not up to the standard of a regular Express. The rooms while they appear to be fairly recently refreshed the building is clearly old. The shower had no curtain and the room filled with water as one showers. The rooms are on the clean side but they have a rank odor of either humidity or sweat or a combination. We could not wait to leave The beds on the plus side are quite comfortable. The hotel website refers to being in the historic center where you can admire the buildings. Do not get your hope up - this is no San Miguel or Zacatecas! I guess I'm too used to visiting truly historic cities Also you can enjoy getting your morning coffee as you stare at the dirty dishes - see photo

We visited Na Bolom 39 years ago and I promised myself that if I made it back to San Cristobal, I would stay there. We did and We were so pleased with the experience. The historic ambiance of the location, house, grounds and museum are the draw and if you appreciate that kind of stuff, you’ll love being able to lounge around in the courtyards and library and wander through the museum exhibits to notice something different each time. The surprise was how friendly the staff was, how good the food was and how comfortable the room was. We especially loved the in-room fireplace that they prepared for lighting each evening. On top of everything else, staying there helps support the Na Bolom Foundation that does great work in the region.

The hotel is super well located two squares from the Marimba Park and half squares from the main Avenue, the attention of its reception staff is very pleasant, the Wi-Fi is excellent and the hot water is wonderful, The breakfast you give is limited but with very good taste, I really recommend them.

Creo que ya le hace falta una buena remodelación a las instalaciones.. el desayuno si estuvo rico y son generosos con sus porciones ..!

I tried for 2 days to reach the hotel management. We paid in advance for a ”premium double room”. The pictures of the room we were promised is not the room we got and all the room pictures they post are not as nice as any of the rooms I have seen. The first thing we noticed is the room smelled. I thought it smelled like sewage but my fiance says it just smells old. The room seems much smaller than what you see in the pictures and our room is not renovated, there is black mold in the bathroom, there is no safety deposit box as promised and the office does not offer one. There is no lock on the window. The hotel/staff is very noisy in the morning. The breakfast is adequate but not a ”buffet” as advertised. I also told them not to come into our room until we leave but as with everything else my request was ignored. I messaged the hotel twice before we arrived to arrange an airport pickup and 3 days later still no reply. Before we arrived they were trying to sell us tours. We ended up booking 1 tour through the hotel but they charged us 80 pesos more than they advertised and as it turns out the price the hotel charged us was 60% more than had we booked it direct with Monte Cristo Tours.

It's fine. The only thing I'll say is avoid breakfast buffet, it's all heavy and full of processed food and the things that are fresh were wilted and unappealing. Its also very expensive. For less money you can take a cab to and from the Mercado Juan Sabines and get a way better breakfast. They also don't ask before assisting you with your luggage, which we barely had. We then obviously felt obligated to tip since he yanked them out of the trunk of our cab before we were out of the back seat. We don't like our stuff being touched but at that point it was done. Won't stay here again.

Nos hospedamos solo una noche pero fue realmente una mala experiencia. Llegamos el miércoles 5 de abril, el check in supuestamente era a las 3 pm, llegamos a las 3:30 pm, nos hicieron esperar hora y media para darnos las habitaciones. El área del lobby muy sucio al igual que el área en donde sirven el desayuno, especialmente el piso estaba demasiado sucio. Al llegar a la habitación, encontramos 3 almohadas sobre cada cama pero en muy mal estado, las sobrefundas y las sábanas todas percudidas y arrugadas. Y no decir la limpieza del baño, terrible, la cortina del baño estaba toda rota y no es lo suficientemente larga, así que se sale toda el agua de la bañera. La habitación era doble, para un máximo de ocupación de 4 personas, solo nos dejaron una toalla grandes de baño para secarnos las manos, pero también toda percudida. La calidad del desayuno gratis también muy mala. La piscina es muy pequeña y estaba muy sucia, se nota que no le dan mantenimiento. El check out es a la 1 pm y a las 12 pm desactivan la llave para abrir la habitación y utilizar los elevadores, por lo que hay que subir y bajar las gradas para ir al lobby y solicitar que abran la habitación. Definitivamente no volvería a reservar en ese hotel.

El hotel muy bueno todo limpio y comodo lo unico malo fue el menu poca variacion, el quipo de réception muy Amable en especial la del turno de la noche la que tiene el pajon, lo recomendaria el hôtel solo que habria que pedir la comida por fuera, hace falta un buen menu

A decent, centrally-located hotel with spacious rooms. However, there were many little things that added up to a negative experience for me and I won't stay here again. PROS Pool, air conditioning, very close to central park (Parque Miguel Hidalgo), good pillows, big rooms, restaurant on-site CONS The pool was full of screaming kids most of the time. The first room they put me in was 103 and the door opened directly onto the pool. The noise was atrocious so on my second day I asked to be moved to a quieter room, which the staff did quickly and with many apologies. They put me on the third floor, room 301, but because the pool is in an open-air section in the center of the hotel, the noise echoed all over the property. Quieter, but definitely not tranquil. The bed gave me a back ache. It only had one sheet and a very thin plasticky coverlet. The air conditioning had two settings -- FULL blast or off. So I either froze or roasted. The shower couldn't maintain a steady temperature. Towels were scratchy. No hand towel. There was no bottled water in the room and no agua pura dispenser in the lobby. This is something I've seen often at other hotels in Mexico and I missed having access to drinking water. There is an OXXO convenience store only steps away though. STAIRS -- this hotel is not mobility-friendly. There is a big set of stairs even to get to reception. Avoid if you have knee problems. Summary: there are better hotels in the same area. Skip this one unless you have kids and want a pool for them.

Hemos estado una noche en el hotel Ciudad Real de Palenque dentro de un viaje organizado y cumple con su cometido. No es un hotel moderno pero tiene habitaciones amplias, piscina y un restaurante donde se puede comer bien. Además, el desayuno era más que suficiente para comenzar con fuerza el día y visitar el yacimiento arqueológico. Por tanto, se trata de una opción razonable si se visita Palenque.

Qu'il y a t'il de plus fantastique que d'arriver dans notre hôtel cerné par des cris de singes hurleurs et survolés par vols de arras rouges (guacamays escarlates) en bonne voie d'extinction par ce cher être humain. Très bel hôtel avec quelques symptômes tout de même de la difficulté d'entretenir de si grand édifices. Agréablement bien situé à 5 min en voiture du centre de Palenque au calme. Chambre confort lit king size, clim, TV, wifi, 2 belles piscines et services restaurant/petit déjeuner . Personnel très sympathique. Bon rapport qualité-prix. Je recommande++

Interesting to see our experience confirmed by some recent reviews. It could have been the weather (unseasonably rainy) but we did not enjoy our stay as much as we had hoped. The cottages/bungalows are nice enough, but some of them are quite a distance from the facilities: their amenities in the room are good, and overall everything is comfortable. Unfortunately, the disinterested staff rather let this place down. This is particularly marked in the bar and restaurant, where the service is quite unbelievably slow and offhand. The food was average, but we were past the point of caring by the time it finally arrived. Very average value for the food quality. A bit of a management shake up, and this place could be something special. Until then...
