The Ibis Budget Basel is located about 800 meters from the station but close to tram lines 10 & 11. So it's a simple journey to the hotel.
The staff were helpful, offering ideas, advising us on the Basel Card (free public transport and discounts on museum entry), providing us with an umbrella for the rain.
The rooms are comfortable but no coffee or tea making facilities.
There's not much to do immediately around the hotel but with tram access, you are only minutes from being in the heart of Basel.
This is a recently renovated hostel with a modern design that stands out among the hostels I've stayed at.
However, since it's completely self-service, the check-in process is difficult. I thought I could just ask a staff member, but no one was there, so it was difficult.
I was able to check in by phone, but it seemed difficult at first glance. From morning to evening (around 6pm?), the staff at the restaurant attached to the hostel are available to help and store luggage, but they are only there to help, so they cannot confirm reservations.
The entrance is from a courtyard-like area opposite the street, so it was difficult to find.
It was a dormitory, but there were bath towels and soap in the shower room, and it was overall clean and I was satisfied with my stay.
Excellent hotel. Stop for the second time. The room category has been increased, but the standard is quite decent room. Windows open. Heating is regulated. It is fashionable to walk to the founded shops and museums, but also a couple of stops to drive is not a problem. Questions are answered in detail. Breakfast is normal. There is an omlet. I will come back. Bed is comfortable, slept.
Breakfast is available if requested, but it is very easy to use the fully equipped kitchen which is mostly used quite well by the guests.
Access by lift is available.
The bunks are quite wide and comfortable and there is lockable storage space.
The site is very near to public transport which is
convenient.
In summer there are eateries and drinking places right next door. There are food shops nearby.
Toilets and showers are all good and kept clean.
1. It is only a 5-minute walk from the basel central station, which is very convenient. Go out along the south exit of the railway station, walk through two intersections and you will be in a residential area.
2. The hotel and the next homestay belong to the same family, so you need to check in at the front desk on the first floor of the homestay
3. The conditions are similar to those of domestic four-star hotels, and the price/performance ratio is super high
4. The front desk has a good attitude and is always there.
5. Breakfast can be added and luggage can be stored. . . . There are two parking spaces at the door, because many of them come by car
6. The curtain is automatic and has a remote control
highly recommended
Although the front desk is not the same as the hotel check-in location (1 min walking) but the front desk staff is very friendly and the price is good in Switzerland!
This youth hostel is very close to the train station, just diagonally, there is a small iron staircase in front of the entrance of the Youth Hostel. After going up the stairs, you will see a code lock at the door. After entering the door, there is a room key box on the left wall. The innermost part of the house is the room and locker. There is a total of 1 toilet, 1 bathroom, 1 toilet + bath. But there is no kitchen, only a public living room, the room is 2 floors up and down, the compartment is very thin, so the sound of talking next door or getting in and out of the bed can be heard, the mattress is too soft (personal feeling). The boss service is very good, all contact with what's App.
