Let’s talk about the shortcomings first: the sound insulation is poor, the sound of the TV next door can be heard, the windows are not closed tightly, and the window handle is loose, causing the sound of cars on the street to be heard clearly. The rooms and stairs on the 9th floor are scary and dirty, and the laundry room is messy. Let’s talk about the advantages: the location is convenient, there are many restaurants and drinks nearby, and it is 2 kilometers away from Suning Plaza. It is convenient to take a taxi or buy a shared electric car. It takes 10 minutes to walk to Xuzhou Railway Station and subway station.

This is a great Republic of China-era hotel, tucked away in a quiet spot yet still central. The courtyard is very unique, and the hotel's location is excellent. It's about 800 meters from popular attractions like Geyuan Garden, Heyuan Garden, Dongguan Street, Pishi Street, Dongguan Ancient Ferry, and Xing Street – all within easy reach. There are also plenty of dining options; the famous Erchun Fried Rice is right next door, and old brands like Fuchun Teahouse, Maopailou, and Gonghechun are all nearby. It's incredibly convenient for an after-dinner stroll. The service is excellent, and the rooms are clean and hygienic. Located at the entrance of a small alley, it's wonderfully peaceful and beautiful. If time permits, brewing a pot of tea and sitting in the courtyard to soak in the 'slow Yangzhou' vibe would be truly delightful!

This is the first night we stayed here. We checked in at around 11pm. The environment is very good and the transportation is relatively convenient. There is a supermarket and restaurant downstairs, both run by the same owner. There is also a 24-hour KFC opposite.

The location is great, close to the subway station, just an eight-minute walk away and easy to find. The room was very clean. The only downside is that the hallways are a bit confusing and you can get lost. The room provides Jing Tian bottled water, and the front desk service was excellent. I wanted to extend my stay but they were fully booked. Also, food delivery isn't allowed up to the rooms. One suggestion: the room doesn't have a toilet seat cover, which I recommend adding.

The front desk staff were incredibly helpful! They patiently answered all my travel questions and even helped me plan my itinerary. The common areas had a fantastic vibe – I spent evenings chatting and playing games with people from all over the world, and it never felt awkward. The facilities were very thoughtful, with a washing machine, dryer, and free drinking water all readily available; they really paid attention to the details. Excellent value for money! I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit and have already recommended it to my friends!

GGlenysMGreenTree Inn, Jurong (Jiangsu Province) is an oldie but a goody! I stayed there for 5 nights in late August/early September (2025). At first glance I was a bit dubious, but it turned out to be a really great place to stay. I felt very safe there and in the neighbourhood (day and night) and would stay there again. Excellent customer service ..… the Reception and cleaning staff were all really friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The first room I was allocated smelt of cigarette smoke (no thank you!), but I was immediately moved into a nicer smelling room, which was absolutely spotless, quite large, and had a nice new smart tv, air con, an opening window with a flyscreen and security bars (essential for a ground floor room), nice solid furniture, pure white linen (impressively imprinted with “GreenTree Inn”) and a clean, comfy doona and pillows. A standard hard’ish Chinese bed, but I find them quite comfy. The old carpet runner along the length of the long ground floor hallway (where my room was) is a relic from way back when, but it was clean and well maintained, as was the rest of the hotel that I could see. The shower head needed fixing, but that’s an annoyingly common problem in pretty much every budget > mid range hotel I’ve ever stayed in, in China. The hotel is only about 20 metres from Jurong Chongming Subway Station. Local bus stop almost at the front door (& across the road). The entrance to the old cobbled road (no cars allowed) & all its little shops is across the road at the lights, and a large pharmacy at the entrance (near the “archway”). Electric scooters galore to hire (via the AliPay or WeChat apps) outside the subway. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance once you get past the trades shops (plumbing supplies etc). My only gripe about GreenTree Inn Jurong (& this is a gripe I have for many hotels etc throughout China) is that smoking is allowed on the premises. I think it’s the worst it’s been since 2002 when I first started travelling to China. It’s awful walking into foyers and lifts that reek of cigarette smoke, and copping wafts of the smoke along hallways from smokers in their rooms (& ashtrays at lift entrances), and horrible arriving tired after a long flight and long trek from airports etc, only to discover you then have to request a room change to escape the smoke, and start all over again. No matter how accommodating the staff are, I could easily do without that hassle and the horrible smell. In my opinion, hotels etc in China need to up their game where that’s concerned, and follow the lead of the many countries which have banned cigarette smoking in all public buildings (including hotels), all public indoor and outdoor spaces, anywhere near children and shopping centres, on and near public transport etc etc etc.

CCW from MalaysiaLocation The hotel is near Dongliu Station, but you need to walk about 3 blocks (15 minutes). The walk is flat, but in July and August it can get very hot, so bring an umbrella. The area is quiet and feels isolated. Although the hotel is not far from Nanjing University Xianlin Campus, there is no direct train, you need to change lines and make an awkward turn. Shared bikes (Hello blue bikes) are convenient in Xianlin, but not around this hotel. A good option is to take the B3 shuttle bus from Sanyang Road, which goes to Nanjing University train station (walking distance to NJU). Around the hotel, you will find small eateries (like chicken and duck rice shops) and a few convenience stores, but no malls. Cleanliness The rooms are clean, but there is a smoke smell that stays for about a day. The staff suggested opening the window and using the aircon, but I also bought a reed diffuser from Miniso to make it smell fresher. Bedsheets were changed regularly (every 5 days). The toilet slippers looked dirty, so I did not use them. Also, the hotel does not provide floor towels. Staff & Service The staff were very kind and helpful. They upgraded me to a bigger double room with a sofa and work area, and also gave me a cheaper rate since I stayed for 40 nights. Cleaning staff came daily, bringing bottled water and keeping the toilet clean. The night-shift counter staff were also helpful. Facilities There is a washing machine that can wash and dry in one cycle. Do not overload it, or clothes won’t dry properly. Since the hotel is not very busy, I could use the machine anytime without queuing. Rooms have a hair dryer and a lighted mirror. The aircon makes a small dripping sound, but it is not a real problem. Noise The soundproofing is generally okay, but occasionally you can hear people talking loudly if there are guests next door. It’s not the hotel’s fault—just that people in China often speak very loudly, even inside their rooms or in the corridor. Nothing much you can do about it. Surroundings & Safety The area is safe, with big roads and many residential apartments. In the evenings, families with kids and dogs walk around, and I also jogged nearby. Food delivery is easy drivers can bring food to your room or the counter. Overall It is a quiet and safe place to stay, with helpful staff and decent facilities. The location is not very convenient for NJU Xianlin Campus, but manageable if you use the shuttle bus.

GGuest UserThe hotel is excellently located, very close to Lion Grove Garden, the museum, Humble Administrator's Garden, and the subway. Its roadside position provides convenient access and easy transportation. The lobby is also quite attractive, and the service staff were excellent. However, the one area that could use improvement is the shower stall. It's rather cramped, and the walls were noticeably damp and slippery. I suspect this is due to inadequate ventilation, which definitely needs addressing.

MMANSOOR LARII arrived at Lianyungang Railway station early morning 8.00 am and walked 10 minutes on main road towards east and within 10 minutes walk I reached Zhahao Hotel which is the building next to the coach station and behind a important local city bus stand where busses are to every part of Lianyungang. As I reached the glass door and opened it a lady was standing at the reception desk and she smiled and waved to me and welcomed me as if I was a family member to her. She immediately offered me a packed bottle water and asked to relax on the front cozy sofa. After 15 minutes a gentleman came and asked for my passport to make registration and informed me to wait a little time as it was very early for check-in. I walked around and just on the corner a lady was making fresh breakfast of special Lianyungang rolls and I had it and was excellent and I ordered another one all for RMB 12. After Breakfast I headed towards the hotel and was informed that my room is ready and they gave check-in at 9.30 am in morning. As I entered the room I was surprised with the quality and ambiance which looked at par with any 5 star hotel. The bed and linin was definitely the highest standard. The bathroom was at par with any big star hotel and they had all amenities of good standard in the room and shower. Their toilet seat was with hot seat and auto flushing sensors and 3 different types of shower systems. This looked to me a family run hotel with 15-20 rooms in a building complex, and the 2 persons at the reception looked like a couple with a son. They manage the hotel so perfectly and looked extremely hard working and I am sure their hotel will be a great success. My recommendation to all foreign travelers visiting Lianyungang either single or with family or in a group to stay in this hotel, you will enjoy the hotel room and the affection the couple gives to their guests, and certainly the quality of room will disappoint you considering it's prices. Also please do take breakfast from the lady at the corner cart, I am posting picture of her mobile cart

GGuest UserReally beautiful place. It looks to be brand new - maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but it certainly looks new. The room (a suite) was very spacious, very clean. Just a very beautiful place that fit well with the surroundings. The whole building was impeccably clean. I rated the service 5/5 because the owners were very nice, and largely left us alone. The family was processing tea and were quite busy - check-in was extremely quick, check-out too. I'm not looking for hospitality, so being left alone suited us fine - this isn't a criticism at all! The rooms don't really come with much extra (tea, coffee etc.), just a couple of bottles of water, so best to know that before you book if you usually expect this, but we didn't so we were fine with it. You can buy really good tea from them (maybe we timed it well as we arrived at the peak tea-picking time). The owners were very kind and let us try some, and it's really good tea - we ended up buying some. Food was pretty good, but again they were quite busy and have specific times that food is available, and no menu, so best to check ahead with them (again, really taking into account that they were super busy processing tea when we were there). Absolutely not a problem as there are so many great restaurants around too. TV in the room had VOD but without VIP, so if you're looking to watch movies or anything best to bring your own (including HDMI cable as our TV didn't have one). Location excellent. Space for maybe 4 cars to park, right next to a small hill, very close to the pick-up point for the sightseeing bus to take you up to Xishan, and surrounded by lots of restaurants, B+Bs etc. so if you like coffee, there's a shop just down the road. Very beautiful surroundings - you will be shocked that you're so close to Suzhou as there's absolutely no evidence that you're anywhere near a city! All in all, really enjoyable. Amazing price for a suite (around Y500 per night) and one of the better homestay-style places we've stayed in. Highly recommended.

PPatrickeblevinsMy wife and I are trying our best to have children but it has been very challenging. We needed a place close the hospital and decided to try Qingmu hotel because it was conveniently located and looked comfortable from the outside and had mostly positive reviews on trip.com. As a foreigner who speaks very little mandarin I was concerned about communication with the hotel staff. But I was pleasantly surprised with how efficiently they handled this problem. We were able to chat with help of WeChat and google translate. They also knew more English than I thought they would. Soon we were very friendly and found a productive way to communicate my needs and get the best room possible. They also helped with our travel bags and provided water and a snack. I felt very happy and comfortable with their services and they made this feel like a home more than a hotel stay. The room was very inviting and smelled freshly cleaned. The bed was very comfortable and my wife has had back pain but said that the bed was perfect for her. It was nice that they were able to store our medication in a temperature controlled fridge while we continued to work towards conception. We had a wonderful view of the city and the bathroom had essentials to aid in freshening up between sessions. The shower had hot water and a removable head and could fit two people. We had access to a microwave oven to warm our lunch and a laundry center to catch up on our travel clothing cleaning needs. The hotel is located close to the subway and is surrounded by many restaurants and other forms of entertainment. Staying here during the Chinese New Year you could feel the festivities all around you, with brightly colored decorations and music. The hotel was also pleasantly decorated with flowers in our rooms as well as in the lobby. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great stay, for an even better price, my wife and I will definitely return here. I attached some photos of my stay below.

MM46650****The room was incredibly spacious, with three open-plan bedrooms (with curtains) and three large, super comfortable beds. It was spotlessly clean, even the windowsills were immaculate. The room offered a unique experience: you could copy sutras for prosperity, burn incense, and enjoy tea (with Yuhua tea, a Kung Fu tea set, and a tea maker provided). I diligently copied the sutras, hoping for good fortune and smooth sailing. They even supplied Jing Tian purified water and Nongfu Spring bottled water for making tea. All amenities were thoughtfully provided, including disposable slippers, tissues, toilet seat covers, disposable bath towels, toothbrushes and toothpaste, combs, shampoo and body wash, shower caps, and earplugs. So considerate! It was an incredibly value-for-money stay!
