Shimoda Beach Hotels

"This hotel offers incredible value for money, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit Shimoda! The room was clean and tidy, with unbeatable sea views, and the size is quite spacious for Japan. The bathroom was also relatively large and bright. Breakfast was also great value, with a decent variety and local specialties. The hot springs have both indoor and outdoor pools; for a non-specialized onsen hotel, the environment was fantastic. I imagine the outdoor onsen offers sea views during the day. But the most remarkable aspect was the hotel's service. They were patient and meticulous throughout. I had requested a high floor and not a corner room in advance, and the hotel accommodated both requests, leading to a room with an excellent view. One evening, I spontaneously decided to go out for dinner, only to find the nearest restaurant was a 1km walk uphill. The front desk helped me call a taxi and even reserved a table. The young man with glasses at the front desk patiently assisted with all the arrangements, for which I'm very grateful! Overall, the experience was fantastic, offering exceptional value, and I will certainly be back!"

"Далековато ! Но оно того стоит Прекрасный пляж . На рецепции все объяснили ) забронировали приватный Онсен. Купались ночью в бассейне ☺️ это лучшее , что может быть . Бар работающий с 20 до 22 часов и бармен Хироку , который готовил нам коктейли отличный джин-тоник за 300 йен -это просто подарок !!! Хироку тебе привет от девчонок из России и спасибо за отдых !! Комнаты чистые и уютные ! Вещи можно было оставить после выезда и сходить на пляж ЗАВТРАКИ ! Таких завтраков я ни в одной гостинице в Японии не ела )) омлет , овощи , фрукты , панкейки и безлимитный кофе 🙏🥰 Вид с обрыва шикарен 🥹 отель Сирахама очень милый и уютный ! Рекомендую 🥲🙏 Трансфера к сожалению не оказалось ((( Но я бы вернулась сюда ещё 😍✨🫠🙏"

"You definitely need a car to get to this accommodation, but the rooms are top-notch. I chose a room with a private open-air bath, and the view of the ocean was spectacular. I also took a walk around the small island just as the sun was setting, and it was absolutely beautiful! The dinner was also very generous and featured local flavors, definitely worth trying!"

"The hotel I was most looking forward to and the one that surprised me the most during my trip to Japan! I saw the reviews saying that the food was good, and I wanted to try it, so I booked it in advance. When we arrived at the hotel, someone came to greet us and helped us with our luggage. We checked in and arranged for dinner. At first, I thought we would eat in the room, but I didn’t expect to eat in the restaurant, but it didn’t matter. The restaurant is a private room. When we arrived, the appetizers were already placed, and then someone came to serve us. I ate one dish after another until I was full. It’s too much! Who said that Japanese people eat less! And it’s really cost-effective, and the taste is also very good. It’s been 2 hours since we finished eating. The breakfast is also very rich, and the grilled fish is also delicious. It’s still very good to experience Japanese breakfast! We booked a tatami room. I thought I had to make the bed myself, but they helped me make it after dinner. The service was really thoughtful. However, I have to complain that the hot water in the bathroom was not hot enough. I just took a shower and went upstairs to take a hot spring bath (the public bathing water in the hot spring is better, and everyone can go upstairs to take a shower). I personally recommend everyone to take an open-air hot spring bath. It is really easy to lack oxygen in the indoor one. It is so comfortable to stare at the sea view in the morning! I will stay in this hotel again if I have the chance! ! ! Finally, the hotel provides free pick-up and drop-off service. The timetable for going to the hotel is in the afternoon, and the time for going to Shimoda Station is in the morning. It seems that you need to make an appointment in advance, but it is still very convenient."

"The location is right in front of the beach and it is the perfect place to stay if u are going to the Shirahama beach. Cleanliness is perfect too but I gave it 4/5 because the rooms are not soundproof. We can hear the footstep from the corridor and above room. The service is perfect too. There is a shuttle bus for the hotel and they let us in from 2:30pm although the actual check in time is 3pm. The staff will wait for u at the front door to give you towel when you come back from the beach. As for the amenities, they have massage services (need additional cost), pool, onsen and etc. But we didn’t use most of the, so don’t know about their quality. So I gave it 4/5."

"The overall environment is nice, with a sea view. However, since it's off-season, some bar singers aren't working. Driving here is a good option, but taking the bus is inconvenient, with buses running every hour. I didn't realize when booking that the room was for one person only. When checking out, because we were two people, the hotel asked me to pay an additional 800 RMB. They didn't mention the extra fee at check-in... The service experience wasn't very good. I certainly didn't notice this small detail, so please be aware of it when booking."

"The room was spacious and quiet. The front desk staff spoke Japanese and English and were very friendly. The view was also great, with the ocean right outside the window. You could hear the sound of the waves with the window open, but it was well soundproofed when closed. It had two beds and a large tatami mat, which could fit two people, making it a room for four in total. There's free parking, and the hotel was clean. The shower and bedroom were separated, which was a nice touch. Very satisfied."
