"Beautiful hotel! The building is a little older but everything is very well maintained, the rooms are large, very clean, bright, comfortable and pretty, I've been travelling for 6 weeks now and this was the best place I stayed at so far. The staff are very kind and helpful, I had some issues due to a typhoon and had to spontaneously add another night but it all went smoothly. The location is excellent, you can even see the main station from the entrance of the hotel, that's how close it is! All the buses to all the sightseeing places (and everywhere else too, really) depart from the main bus station, which is even closer still (and Dongdamen night market is actually also still walking distance, takes about half an hour). Nonetheless it was nice and quiet at night. Plenty of convenience stores around too and a full supermarket is right next to it as well. Breakfast was good too! Would absolutely stay there again and now that I'm in the next hotel (definitely not as nice already)I kind of miss it already..."

"The hotel is about 1.5km from Hualien Station, and a bit tricky to find as it's tucked away in an alley off the main Zhongshan Road. However, a taxi from Hualien Station got me there quickly once I told the driver the hotel name. While the hotel staff don't speak Japanese, they are proficient in English. They are also cheerful and helpful, and use translation apps on their phones to communicate, so any issues can be easily resolved. There's a coin laundry right next to the hotel, which is convenient for washing clothes. The hotel is in a city area with plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and supermarkets nearby. The room I stayed in had a combined toilet and shower, with only a shower curtain separating them. You need to be careful, as the curtain can easily open and soak the toilet area. (Be warned!) If your plan includes breakfast, you'll receive breakfast tokens (coins) for each person upon check-in. Breakfast is a buffet with a good variety of tasty options. The dining room tables and chairs are made from large, single slabs of wood, which is quite unique for Japan. You're expected to clear your own dishes after eating and place the breakfast tokens in a box by the dining room exit. Next to the hotel lobby, they sell cute deer-themed merchandise like keychains, wallets, and hand towels."

"The location is excellent, just opposite the train station. We stay there for three nights. Throughout our stay there is a strong smell of toilet which I suspected it’s from the drain AA was raining on my first day of visit. However thr smell remain on 2nd and 3rd night even though there is no more rain. On the 3rd day I decided to inform the hotel as I would like to eat in my room (I can even smell it even the toilet door is closed), the front desk given me a air freshener which helps to some extend. However, I found some small black dot on my bedsheet (the hotel just changed the bedsheet after 2day stay). I ignore that as it is not stain or obvious unclean bedsheet. But it was super itchy when I sleep at night. The next day morning my partner and wake up with bumps all over all body especially limbs. The front desk appeared annoyed when see me early in the morning AA if I am here to complain again, as he frown his eyebrow when we approached. I show him our bumps and he explain it could be due to the detergent. After check out we went to see the doctor in a clinic, the doctor said this is due to a kind of mosquitoes called forcipomyia Taiwana, which is popular in hualian especially during rainy season. Which means it might be due to hotel cleanliness but we were bitten outside. However I felt that the response could be better e.g. to show some concern or propose some solution rather than just tell us the possible cause. Overall it is not very pleasant stay."

"Very clean and comfortable room, pretty new. Breakfast was simple with good salads but limited proteins, usually eggs and sometimes, sausages or ham. We stayed two nights..Nice rooftop views. Cons: just two clothes hangers provided. We were forbidden to park in the property’s carparks just because we did not booked directly with them, but through third party booking platforms. This is discrimination. Although the hotel staff did help us to find street side parking, we had to relocate and find somewhere to park our car three times at night! Very annoying indeed!"

"The hotel isn't new, but it's well-maintained and worth the price; great value for money. The room was very clean; the wooden floors were comfortable to walk on and there was no dust. The hot water was plentiful and consistent, making showering easy. The bathtub was nice and great for a soak. Minor drawbacks: The TV only has channel four, so you can't watch YouTube. The gap at the bottom of the door is too large, allowing you to hear noise from the hallway."

"Xpark combines lighting, projections, and marine life displays, creating a truly immersive atmosphere. The jellyfish zone, in particular, is incredibly dreamy and offers fantastic photo opportunities. The flow within the aquarium is smooth, making it perfect for couples, friends, or families to visit together. However, it can get quite crowded on weekends, with popular areas requiring some queuing. Overall, it's an aquarium that offers both entertainment and a sense of calm, definitely worth a visit."

"Unfortunately, our experience at Bulowan Hotel was not very satisfying. The room had a strong musty smell upon arrival, which didn’t go away during our stay. Although it was quite warm, the air conditioning didn’t work properly and barely cooled the room. Additionally, the showerhead had no holder, which made showering quite uncomfortable. Overall, the hotel felt very basic considering the price we paid. We had expected a bit more comfort and quality for the cost."

"Stayed at Hi-Yes Hotel Cinten Hotel - Hualien Branch for a weekday business trip in July 2026. 1. The lobby offers a free mini-bar with ice cream, drinks, and small cookies. 2. I booked a king-size room, which was actually two twin beds pushed together, making it very large. The room was spacious, no bathtub, but the shower had excellent hot water pressure and a steady flow. 3. The room uses central air conditioning, not an individual split-type unit. 4. Bottled water and toothbrushes are not provided. 5. It's quite close to the train station, about 500 meters away. 6. The room has international outlets, as well as USB Type-C and Type-A ports, which is very convenient. 7. The late-night snack (18:00-21:00) is slightly less impressive than what you'd find at Kanchen, but there weren't many people dining, so it was quieter. It's perfectly fine for a simple dinner. 8. For breakfast (06:30-10:00), it's a pity they only offer boiled eggs, no fried eggs."
