NatesterLovely stay at Caption by Hyatt. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a short walk from Chinatown and the Capitol Theatre, making it a great base for exploring the city. The only minor downside is that the lobby is quite small, and there are stairs leading to the lifts, which may be less convenient if you have heavy luggage or a stroller. Overall, a great choice for a comfortable city stay.

Guest UserVisited during Chinese New Year, so Sydney hotels were all overpriced. I chose Morris based on its price and location. First, the location is quite good. Navigation suggested getting off at Museum Station, but Central Station feels closer. The hotel sign is on the exterior wall, so it's easy to miss if you're not paying attention. There's no disabled access at the entrance – you have to carry your luggage up and down stairs every time you enter or exit. Be aware that the ground floor is a restaurant, and the restaurant's front desk doubles as the hotel's front desk; I initially thought I'd gone to the wrong place! The overall vibe is very Australian. I booked a room with a window, and got one with a window facing a wall. Since the front desk staff only spoke English and I was only staying for one night, I didn't bother asking to switch. The room was quite small. Breakfast is à la carte, but it was delicious! It's probably the same standard as the restaurant downstairs. A meal plus a drink would cost over 30 dollars. The lady taking orders was very enthusiastic! (If you're not confident in your English, I wouldn't really recommend this place; it feels a bit too 'local'. My poor English made ordering a bit nerve-wracking, haha).

Guest UserPros:
Fantastic location.
Even though some reviews mentioned the bed being too soft, it was actually the most comfortable hotel bed my kid has slept in for years. I usually have trouble sleeping in new beds, but this one didn't give me any insomnia.
The front desk service was relatively warm and welcoming.
The in-room capsule coffee machine worked great.
Nice view from the window.
Cons:
The duvet cover situation was really odd; there wasn't one. The duvet insert was just sandwiched between two sheets, and it would come undone as soon as you lay down.
The room was quite small.
Every day, inexplicably, dust would settle on the bed.
Houskeeping seemed to be inconsistent: one day the coffee wasn't restocked, another day the trash wasn't emptied completely, and some days we got an excessive amount of towels.
The room was small.

Anonymous UserOverall, we were very satisfied. The front desk staff were friendly and even gave us a bottle of wine and a card for our anniversary. The room was spacious and bright, with a washing machine and dryer, and all the amenities were excellent. There was also plenty of living room and kitchen space. The location was very close to the railway, with many food options nearby. Although basic cleaning was only provided every four days, it was sufficient. The only drawback was that on our last two nights, we noticed cockroaches crawling out from the drain. I believe they came in because insecticide was placed in the wine, so hopefully, this can be addressed to avoid giving the impression of poor hygiene.

Guest UserFacilities: Well-equipped.
Cleanliness: Clean and tidy.
Service: Good.
Ambiance: The hotel isn't soundproof, so it can be a bit noisy at night with cars passing by on the street.
It's in Chinatown, an Asian crew hotel, convenient for getting to the city center and a handy meeting point for one-day tours.

The hotel's location is truly excellent. It's about a 5-6 minute walk from the Museum train station and the light rail station, and only 2 minutes from the bus stop, making transportation incredibly convenient. Chinatown and the large Coles Worth Square supermarket are also not far.
Even better, our room type came with a washing machine and dryer. The kitchen was fully equipped with an oven, toaster, stovetop, pots, dishwasher, and even a capsule coffee machine, which made preparing a simple breakfast in the morning very easy.
However, you definitely hear the train noise. Our floor wasn't very low, and we personally found it acceptable. Also, when booking, the platform stated daily cleaning, but in reality, it was only once a week. After we brought it up with the platform, they immediately offered us a discount as compensation.
During our stay, one morning around 4 AM, the fire alarm went off, followed by the sound of fire trucks. It scared us down to the first floor, where many other guests had already gathered. Luckily, the firefighters eventually came down and said it was a false alarm. Also, during the only cleaning service we received, the cleaning staff somehow broke the towel rack in our bathroom. It took two days for it to be repaired, which caused some inconvenience.

Facilities: A huge plus! It has a stove, microwave, oven, full-sized fridge, and a dishwasher! All the pots and pans are there too! You just need to head to the supermarket for meat and seasonings.
Cleanliness: Decent. We took out our own trash.
Environment: The location is fantastic! It's near Chinatown, and a Coles supermarket is right across the street. Even better, there's an Asian supermarket on the floor below Coles! You can find any meat and vegetables you could possibly want! I highly recommend the steak from Coles that comes with a small pat of butter! No need for extra seasoning, it's super convenient! It cooks up just like a restaurant steak!! However, the balcony in this room doesn't have soundproof glass, so it can be noisy at night, but once you're asleep, it's fine.
Service: Not much service. The email stated there wouldn't be cleaning. We had to go downstairs ourselves to ask for fresh towels. We also took out our own trash.
Overall, it's still pretty good and suitable for large families traveling together. Cooking your own meals is a great option! Downstairs, there are three Malatang places: Yang Guo Fu, Zhang Liang, and one more! You'll never go hungry. Grab a takeaway Malatang, then head to the supermarket to buy more vegetables, meat, noodles, and tofu to add to it – you can go crazy with the toppings!
Of course, we've also thoroughly enjoyed Sydney's local restaurants, steaks, and kangaroo meat! Western food is also delicious! Steaks, fries, pork ribs, and fish and chips! All good! Especially the pork ribs! They're perfect for kids!

Anonymous UserOur first room was quite disappointing. The walls had a lot of stains and marks, and the room just didn’t feel very clean or well maintained. Because of this, we asked if it was possible to change rooms.
The staff were absolutely lovely and very accommodating. They were understanding of our concerns and helped us move to another room without any hassle, as well as give us a partial refund for the night. The second room was noticeably better and made the rest of our stay much more comfortable.
The customer service was definitely the highlight of our stay, and I’m very grateful to the staff for how helpful and friendly they were. Unfortunately, the condition of the first room let the hotel down, and I think the rooms could do with better maintenance and attention to detail. If the cleanliness and upkeep were improved, it would make a big difference.
