"I had a wonderful stay at Youth Hostel Bern. Everything about this place was excellent. The location is perfect — very close to the main railway station, and buses and trams are easily available, which made traveling around the city super convenient. The hostel itself is very nice, neat, and clean. The rooms were comfortable, and the bedding was fresh, tidy, and well arranged. Bathrooms and toilets were extremely clean, which made the stay even more comfortable. The environment of the hostel is pleasant and welcoming. On top of that, the breakfast was superb with great options to start the day. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend Youth Hostel Bern to anyone visiting the city."

"Location was great. The train station at your doorstep. Staff were helpful. I voiced my concern about heating and a light that was blinking and all concerns were addressed quickly. All in all, a great stay and staff were well trained and based on my conversations with them, they had been working there for a long time, hence the knowledge and level of service. One thing though, is that the lighting in the room could be improved; that would be really helpful for those coming on business trips and working on their laptops."

"The room was new and not far from the station. The facilities were clean and tidy. On the second-floor hallway, I smelled cat, so it seems pets are allowed; it was probably left by a previous guest. The front desk staff were friendly and polite, but they charged 90 Swiss Francs for a late check-out, which felt a bit expensive."

"The front desk staff were all friendly and left a good impression. At first glance, it looked more like an ordinary private home than a hotel, but considering the location it was relatively easy to find and I didn't have to wander around looking for it. The rooms were clean and safety was well ensured. If I had to point out a drawback, it would be that the shower and toilet were shared. I happened to be in a room next to them so it wasn't too inconvenient. Looking out the window with a small balcony gave me a sense of calm. "The space was much bigger than I expected and very clean. For the price, it offered incredible value for money compared to other places I've stayed in Europe. There's also a sparkling water and hot water dispenser, and a common room. Overall, I had a very positive experience. Transportation: The only potential drawback is that reaching the train station requires two transfers, as there's no direct route. The journey, including transfers, takes approximately 25 minutes. Apparently, road construction over the past few months has caused the originally direct routes to be diverted, and it seems these roadworks won't conclude until the end of 2025. When I made my booking, the construction hadn't started, and I only became aware of it upon arrival. If this is a concern for you, I recommend checking Google Maps when you book to confirm whether the roadworks have finished."

"Location is 10-12 minutes from city centre by tram and about the same for major train station should you wish to do day trips to Belp, Thun etc. Room is clean and staff is friendly although they keep chasing you for your room number if you get breakfast too (I did for all my mornings). Room is ok, bed is comfortable but heads up if you face the tram you might hear the outdoor noise until midnight or so. Reception staff speak good English and is helpful if you need any suggestions for your trip."
