Hotels near Fuzimiao Area, Nanjing

Hotel location inside Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple) zone is excellent. Stepping out from the hotel entrance into the pedestrian-only street are tonnes of restaurants and stalls.( Everyday I was spoiled for food choices.) Yet, the hotel remains sheltered, calm and insulated from the outside festivities. The room I stayed for 4 nights was spacious, clean with air-conditioning. Shower water pressure and hot water was excellent. Everyday a bag of fruits (banana, orange, apple, pear, cherry tomatoes...) were dropped off. All the snacks and drinks in the room were included (free). Overall, the hotel was not luxurious (in the traditional 5-star sense) but contains a captivating charm that transport one back to Chinese antiquity. It was a pleasant stay. One minor blemish was the in-room safe not working as it should. Reception said hardly any guests use the room safe. That's understandable given the overall safe environment.

This hotel offers great value for money. The rooms are really large and spacious. The front desk service was excellent; they even offered drinks and wet towels. The location is also fantastic, right near popular attractions! The only minor inconvenience was due to traffic control during the May Day holiday, which meant we had to walk a bit to catch a taxi.

This hotel is nestled in an alley in Laomendong, right opposite the popular Pioneer Bookstore, which is a great location. The only downside is that it's 1.5 km from the metro station, but we took taxis everywhere, so it wasn't a big deal for us. We originally booked a tatami room, but only found out upon arrival that it was on the B2 level. It had a musty smell, was damp, and poorly ventilated, making it quite uncomfortable. We paid an extra 1000 RMB to switch to a room on the second floor, which was much better. If you're booking, definitely avoid the basement rooms. The hotel has three adorable cats! Aside from the little hiccup with the room upgrade, everything else was pretty good, even though the price doubled during the holiday.

The location is super convenient, right in the heart of the Confucius Temple scenic area. It's just a 5-minute walk from Exit 2 of Fuzimiao Metro Station (Lines 3 and 5), and directly across from Nanjing Impressions. All the must-try eateries are within walking distance. Service: Both the front desk and floor staff were incredibly polite and enthusiastic. The young lady at the front desk even upgraded my room during check-in. They were always helpful and answered all my questions. Cleanliness: The room was very clean; there were no strange odors or cleanliness issues when I entered. Facilities: Perhaps due to the prime, high-value location, the bathroom was a bit small. You have to walk through the toilet area to get to the shower, which isn't ideal for privacy. Another issue was that I occasionally smelled smoke in the room, possibly from guests upstairs or downstairs, both when I returned to the room mid-day and in the early morning. I mentioned it to the front desk when checking out, and they suggested it might be coming through the ventilation pipes. Overall, it's acceptable as the smell didn't last long, and opening a window quickly cleared it out.

The complimentary coffee and snacks in the room were a delightful surprise – the coffee was delicious, and there were other great options too. The hotel's location is fantastic, right inside Fuzi Temple, making it super convenient for getting around. There are also tons of fun places nearby, like the China Science and Technology Museum, which I highly recommend! The service was excellent; they were very responsive and helpful with any issues I had during my stay.

The front desk staff, Wenwen, was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located near many supermarkets, making it easy to buy local specialties. The air conditioning in the room wasn't working perfectly, but other than that, everything was fine. It's really convenient for visiting the Confucius Temple, and overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

Was hard to find as the taxi driver coming from the train station drops you at the crossing and doesn't tell you where to go. He probably doesn't know himself as it's in a pedestrian area and cars can't get to it. If you're getting dropped off from the station you'll need to cross the road and walk towards the pedestrian shopping area. I arrived early, they allowed me to check in early. Staff don't speak any English and don't attempt to translate using their phone nor give you their wechat hotel number to communicate. My mandarin is minimal. Breakfast wasn't communicated. I proceeded to my room. The room was dusty and didn't appear to have been cleaned. The room I booked had a mini bar but the one they assigned didn't. I went back to reception. Reception is on level 5. This is me guessing based on the sign board in Chinese characters by the lift when I first got there. There's only one lift. There are stairs which I didn't use. I told them that the room was dirty and missing a mini bar. They told me to wait 30 mins while they got another room ready. No hesitation, no fuss at all. The next room was a bit better. The room is dated and needs a makeover. The clothes rack is rusty, the bed spread had holes in it. I found lashes stuck on the table. There needs to be a bit more attention to detail with cleaning and dusting. They might only empty the bins, change the bedding. The shampoo bottle was empty. I didn't say anything because I was using my own shampoo. The walls are soundproof. It does get noisy with guests slamming their door, a pub is down stairs and people yell and toot their scooter horn. It's a great location by the river which is always busy. Lots of food choices. To catch a ride, you need to go to one of the many footpaths by the road. Breakfast was good for savoury taste buds. The noodles the first morning were hard and cold. The coffee machine takes three top ups to get a cup. It was pitiful. The gym is just one treadmill. The washing room was great. I got washing done. I stayed here three nights. It was OK for the price I paid.

I stayed for several days, and since I was traveling with elderly family members, the hotel staff were exceptionally attentive. My family told me they were very comfortable and that the service was excellent. The environment was lovely, and the hygiene was impeccable. The hotel's location is also fantastic, just 5 meters from Fuzimiao. The decor is beautiful. Overall, I was very satisfied.

I genuinely recommend this place. When I visited Nanjing, I stayed near the Confucius Temple. After comparing several options, I chose this one. The hotel is right on the pedestrian street, which is very lively. You can easily go out for drinks, shopping, and there are plenty of food options, making it quite convenient. The hotel environment is clean and tidy, and you can even enjoy beautiful views. The price is also reasonable, offering great value for money.

Before I even checked in, the hotel staff called me and added me on WeChat. They sent over the hotel's location and pictures. After check-in, a staff member escorted me to my room and showed me all the facilities and how to use them. My room was on the second floor with a large private balcony directly overlooking the Qinhuai River – a truly beautiful view! The room was clean and comfortable, making for a very pleasant stay. It's only a two-minute walk to Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple), and it's super convenient for boat tours, shopping streets, and restaurants. Yet, it's far enough away not to be bothered by the commercial bustle, allowing you to quietly enjoy tea and the scenery from your balcony. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but the quality was excellent. Overall, I was extremely satisfied. Next time I visit, I won't even consider staying anywhere else; I'll definitely be booking this place again.
