We are Malaysian & can speak mandarin. Don’t worry if you’re non-chinese speaker, they will try their best to communicate with you. Sonzhuju Coffee & Tea Holiday Villa is convenient for those who bring big luggage. They have a service to help carry your luggage too, from the main road (approx 170m). And please let them know once you arrived at the main road! The hotel is away from loud noise & busy from the main area. Cosy place & strategic for us staying in 3D2N. The room was clean. Breakfast included, but for Muslims, please mention that you’re Muslim, then they will prepare you veggie options. And you can choose to have your meal in your room or their eating area.

Ai Fei, a local host from the hotel, was very helpful in arranging our customised tour trip. We texted the hotel via WeChat 8–9 days prior to our arrival in Lijiang. We asked if there was any local there who could advise us on the trip and straightaway they made a group for discussion. He'd make sure that we were all okay & happy to discuss our plan to visit any area that we would like to go to. He arranged our private car trip to JDSM & Blue Moon Valley and brought the ticket for us too. Upon we'd arrived at the hotel, he served us a welcome tea, fruit and flower cake. From the next morning we are going to JDSM & Blue Moon Valley. He advised us on what the do’s and don't prior to our trip. The private driver that he helped arrange for us was also very helpful & patient to ensure that we felt safe going to the place (group chat). He also helped to arrange a private car for us to Shangri-la. Overall, he made our plan and trip smoothly.

As for the Muslims, you can ask him or the hotel host to recommend where the nearest Muslim restaurant they will definitely find for you.
Overall, definitely recommend staying here. We are happy with our stay here.

I had a really lovely stay at Mulan Yu in Lijiang. The host was incredibly kind and helpful. They helped carry my bag to the stay and also gave me recommendations on places to visit. As a solo traveler, that warmth honestly made me feel a lot less lonely. The location is excellent as well. It’s very close to the tourist areas and everything is walkable, while still feeling peaceful and cozy. Lijiang itself is beautiful, especially at night. The room was super clean and comfortable, and I was unexpectedly excited that they even had an automatic toilet 😆 My Lijiang trip feel much more welcoming and memorable. 谢谢您沐兰遇汤宿，谢谢您海飞。。

The room was clean and tidy, and the hotel's location was excellent, very close to the old town. There's also Heilongtan Park nearby, making it convenient for dining and entertainment. The front desk staff were very helpful and always ready to answer any questions. The hotel facilities and environment were also quite good; the room even had a smart toilet. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

I had an amazing stay here which was my favourite after travelling to China for a month. Well located in a quieter and more peaceful section of the ancient town. The design of the hotel itself was stunning! Despite the traditional design, the hotel contained completely modern amenities like smart toilets, bed heaters, AC and fast wifi. The highlight though is the exceptional service from the attentive staff and the lovely hotel owner. They are helpful with recommendations, provide pickup service so you don’t have to carry your luggage through the ancient town and overall provides a very homely and comforting atmosphere. I was even invited to dinner and shared fruits, tea and snacks with me! If that isn’t enough to convince you, they also have four super cute cats! Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re coming to Lijiang.

Staying at Shitouji·Guanshan Xiaoju Inn (Lijiang Old Town Waterwheel Branch) this time was truly an unforgettable and exceptionally satisfying experience. We booked the 270-degree panoramic suite, and as soon as we stepped in, we were amazed by the room's layout and ambiance. The design of the room was very unique; from the views, sunlight, furnishings, to the overall atmosphere, you could really feel the inn's dedication and quality. It looked exactly like the photos on hotel recommendation websites, even more beautiful and textured in person, making us fall in love with Lijiang as soon as we arrived. The innkeeper was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, providing us with a lot of help from check-in until we left. What touched us most was that he didn't just offer accommodation services; he also thoughtfully arranged our Jade Dragon Snow Mountain itinerary, saving us a lot of time and hassle, and making the entire trip much smoother and more relaxed. Even better, the innkeeper was very knowledgeable about the local area and proactively recommended nearby eateries, fun spots, and suitable routes, making our two-day trip to Lijiang Old Town very fulfilling. Although it was a short stay, thanks to the innkeeper's recommendations, we enjoyed delicious food, saw great sights, and avoided many crowds. The itinerary was perfectly planned. The inn's environment is truly special – warm, stylish, and full of stories. Unlike typical commercial hotels, it gives you a sense of ”living in Lijiang.” The evening view from the room was even more memorable, quiet and beautiful, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Even though it was only two short days, we created wonderful memories. We sincerely hope to choose this inn again if we have the chance to revisit Lijiang in the future. I also highly recommend that if you have the opportunity to travel to Lijiang, you must experience this ”premium” level of accommodation. I believe you'll have a comfortable stay, a fun time, and bring home many cherished memories, just like us.

During my 7-day trip to Kunming, Dali, and Lijiang, this was my favorite hotel. The staff provided amazing service, welcoming us at the entrance and carrying our luggage to the 3rd and 4th floors—making the lack of an elevator no issue at all. As soon as we opened the room, the electric curtains opened to a stunning snow mountain view (thanks to the hotel for the room upgrade!). The bed was comfortable, the room was smoke-free, and breakfast was delicious. At checkout, staff carried our bags down and loaded them into our taxi. The location is excellent. just a short walk from the alley to the main road, close to attractions, and surrounded by restaurants.

Perfect score from me, they went above and beyond. The location is great - in a quiet street in the old town that's close to all the attractions and the road. The rooms were really clean, modern and spacious, and the internal courtyard was really cute and a great place to hang out. They offer breakfast and afternoon tea, both which were excellent. However, the standout was the service - Nana took care of us and made our experience amazing. She arranged airport pickup and dropoff, afternoon tea to be sent to our rooms, places to eat and offered to help us organize outings to the jade dragon snow mountain. She was an invaluable source of knowledge and truly made our Lijiang experience that much smoother. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to visit Lijiang!

I highly recommend this guesthouse; my two-day stay was excellent. A special shout-out to Butler Yu for his warm hospitality! We arrived after 10 PM, and Butler Yu waited for us and came out beforehand to help with our luggage. When we left, he waited until 8 AM to help us carry our very heavy bags out. When I was struggling with altitude sickness and ran out of oxygen, Butler Yu found me a spare tank to use. He also constantly messaged us on WeChat to check in, which I was incredibly grateful for. I hope the owners take good care of Butler Yu. He's very talkative and you can ask him anything. The guesthouse itself is in a very convenient location, just a few minutes' walk from the old town and the food street. Getting a taxi to the South Gate of Shuhe Ancient Town is also very quick. The view from the window is exceptionally beautiful; our room had a view of other rooftops and a skylight, and the sunrise shining in was lovely. I saw comments below about poor soundproofing, and we did hear a neighbor playing music, but it was only for a short while in the afternoon, not too loud, and didn't last long, so it didn't affect our rest at all. Thank you, Master Yu, for making our Yunnan trip feel so warm!

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were given a welcome tea ceremony. The owner was very friendly and hospitable. With his help we even managed to secure tickets for the Snow Mountain Cable Car. He also gave guidance on places of interest and great foodie places recommendations. During one of our tour gorge visits, my wife suffered a fall. The owner immediately offered to take us to a local hospital and even help us navigate the local system to get my wife injuries treated. Very grateful. The hotel is very homely with excellent ambiance and serene feel. Every family members in this family run hotel is very friendly and hospitable. Location wise is excellent very central within the Gucheng and walking distance to the North Gate, the usual pick up point for most tours and Didi. Around the hotel the super hype activities within the Ancient City simply draws you into the merriment and excitement but the hotel is well located that you get your quite rest without the noisy hassle and bussle of a vibrant city. Great stay and value for money.

This guesthouse is incredibly quiet at night, and there's no disturbance inside either, so I slept very soundly. The environment is lovely, and there's a viewing deck where you can see the old town. It's easy to find using navigation. The owner is very welcoming and gave great recommendations for attractions and local food. The room I stayed in had excellent natural light. The owner even offered a discount when I extended my stay, which was fantastic!
