Hotels near Chinatown (Glodok), West Jakarta

The hotel is very close to old town and china town. Location is convenient. Hotel is very clean, room is big and quiet. Hotel staff is very friendly, helpful and smily. One suggestion will be if the front desk can keep more small change for Grab, that will be great. Most of the time they only have 50,000 notes. All in all, its a great hotel.

We booked two rooms and stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, and everything went smoothly from check-in to check-out . The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was good, with enough variety, and it was a nice way to start each morning. A special mention to Leonard for New Year’s Eve. He invited us, together with other guests, to join a karaoke gathering. It was fun, relaxed, and a great way to welcome the New Year. New Year BBQ was also enjoyable. The food was tasty, especially the BBQ squid (cumi) and chicken satay, which we really enjoyed. Special thanks as well to the General Manager for his kindness and warm hospitality. It truly made our stay more memorable. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience. We felt welcome and would gladly stay here again.

The hotel is very well located in Central Jakarta, but unfortunately, there is a construction of Jakarta MRT in front of the hotel. Jalan Gajah Mada & Hayam Wuruk (the long street stretch where Novotel Jakarta Gajah Mada is located) are recommended not to be visited by local Transport Authority because of MRT construction (as of 19 - 20 Des 2025). The room is very dim lit, triggering the question if the hotel is used for the entertainment associated with the surrounding. The toilet door & flush are damaged. Some power sockets don't work. We could use the heater in water jug to make tea & coffee. The hotel is supposed to be nice but may need further maintenance. We wanted to visit the conserved & gazetted former House of Chinese Leader in Batavia, that's the reason of staying this hotel. But, we couldn't do that as we got food poisoning. We checked out early at 8am because we needed to go for doctor. The receptionist seems to show no care to someone suffering from food poisoning, offered no help and collected the room cards. Perhaps, it's not part of hotel's SOP. We like the view from the high floor and could see many skyscrapers of Jakarta, very interesting We ike the spacious hotel room, especially we are family traveller. I hope the hotel could maintain it's famous name as an Accor Hotel and may visit again if there are improvements. Otherwise, Ascott Hotels may be my choice.

While the hotel is in a reasonably convenient location, it is not as accessible as several nearby properties. Most shops and services require at least a five-minute walk along poorly maintained, uneven, and sometimes dirty roads. I am genuinely puzzled as to how this property has been rated as a four-star hotel. Based on its current condition, facilities, and service standards, it feels much closer to a three-star establishment. The breakfast selection was repetitive and uninspiring throughout the stay. The room's electrical outlet arrangement was awkward and made it difficult to use essential medical equipment such as a CPAP machine. The elevators were slow and lacked a modern destination or queue management system. The bathrooms still use outdated tap fittings, some of which dripped continuously. There were also visible cigarette burns on both the carpet and furniture, suggesting a lack of attention to maintenance and refurbishment. Considering the price paid, I do not feel that the hotel offered good value for money. With better maintenance, updated facilities, and improved service standards, the guest experience could be significantly enhanced.

This hotel boasts an excellent location with convenient transportation, putting major attractions and delicious food right at your fingertips. The room was spacious and bright, with comfortable bedding and comprehensive amenities. The cleanliness was impeccable, making for a truly relaxing stay. The dining experience was a pleasant surprise; the breakfast offered a wide variety, blending local specialties with Western options, all authentic and served with attentive service. Overall, my experience far exceeded expectations, offering incredible value for money. I would definitely choose this hotel again for future visits and highly recommend it!

A clean and friendly hostel in the heart of Jakarta old town. The staff are very helpful, there is a kitchen to cook, a pool table and foosball table, and good areas to relax. The beds have curtains, plugs and small lockers (that beep a bit much). The rooms are a bit tight, but they provide big lockers in the common area to store your larger luggage. Handy to Chintown and the train station too. Recommended!

Hotel was good with pool but the location is terrible outside a lot of people not friendlier with tourists,robbers,homeless Hotel is ok if you want travel with taxi or grab but is not for alone walking and exploring

What really impressed me about Spark was that the hotel rooms are being renovated. The only minor drawback is the lack of a hand-held showerhead. It's a shame that not all the Deluxe rooms have been updated yet.

One night in two deluxe rooms, no problem this time. Did not bother to get breakfast as there are so many food stalls within walking distance. Second night in a premier room, a much bigger and more comfortable room that is so comfy. The strategic location is the main reason I return to this hotel: you can visit the old town within walking diatance, and you can take the busway to go downtown. A small complain is that the AC is a bit noisy and the temperature seems kinda fixed and cannot be adjusted.
