"I stayed at the Sotetsu Fresa Inn Higashi Shinjuku Station for my New Year trip to Tokyo. First, the good points: The location is great, very close to the subway, and there are Lawson and 7-Eleven convenience stores nearby, as well as plenty of restaurants. Now, for the downsides: 1. I found a dirty towel in the bathroom (see picture 2), so the hygiene is a bit questionable. 2. The staff had me check in using a machine, and then, after pressing a few buttons, it prompted me to pay for the room again at the hotel... but I had already paid in Shanghai! So I had to start over, which wasted time. In the end, the staff just said 'sorry'... the service definitely needs improvement."

"It was close to the station and there were lots of shops around, which was great! The separate facilities for men and women made me feel very safe! The abundance of shower rooms was a big help!"

"The city center is really crowded, and it's a bit uncomfortable not being able to fully open my suitcase. However, the staff on the first floor are all very professional and have excellent attitudes."

"Easily access to shops and restaurant being in the Kabukicho area. It takes about 15-20 minutes walk to Shinjuku station. The size of the room for three peopleis is for Tokyo standard. Great tasty breakfast (Japanese and western) and amenities/tea/coffee are available to pick up at reception. Staff are friendly and received a welcome drink. Stayed for 3 nights and the hotel scheduled full cleaning of the room once. Fresh towels are available to pick up at reception."

"The location is fantastic, making it super convenient to get everywhere. This is my third time staying at this hotel! The breakfast area is pleasant and the food tastes good, but I wouldn't recommend adding breakfast if you're staying for multiple days, as they serve the same dishes every day. It's better to just buy it on the days you fancy it."

"Loved how nicely the receptionist greeted and the quality of the toiletries. However, the location is a bit far from the heart of Shinjuku and metro stations are considerably far. Besides that, the sound proofing of the room was poor as we can hear some strangers shouting/laughing on the 7th floorand the size of the room is way too small even for someone who is 175cm tall. I can’t even change my clothes in the toilet because of the extremely low ceiling."

Walking distance to train station Lots of eateries and shopping around the hotel Room is consider spacious for Japan standard Toilet is split from bathing and it comes with bathtub. Toilet light is little dim hotel provide sleeping shoes, tooth brush and towels. Room is clean but it only clean the room every 3 days. And towel can be changed daily. No bell for the room Staff speaks very good English and very helpful"

"I've forgotten the exact location, but I think it was about a 10-minute walk to the subway station and 10-20 minutes to Shinjuku's shopping area. However, it was pretty good value for money if you stay on a weekday. This was my second time staying at a Toyoko Inn, and the fully self-service, contactless check-in using my passport at the machine was incredibly convenient. Japanese hotels have very early check-out times, before 10:30 AM, and late check-in times, which gives them plenty of time for cleaning. This time, however, I noticed long hairs left by previous guests in many spots in the bathroom. Because of limited availability, I could only book a smoking room. I don't smoke, but the smoke smell in the room was very faint, almost imperceptible. The room also came with a deodorizer spray, which you could use a few extra times yourself, which was a nice touch."

"Great Value Base Camp for Exploring Tokyo (5 Nights) Just back from 5 nights at E Hotel Higashi Shinjuku. If you want a clean, functional, and incredibly well-located place to sleep, this is it. The Best Part: The location is unbeatable. It’s a 1-minute walk to Higashi-Shinjuku Station (Oedo/Fukutoshin lines), making getting around effortless. Surrounded by convenience stores and right on the edge of the lively Kabukicho/Golden Gai area. The Room: Typical Tokyo small, but spotlessly clean and well-designed. Comfortable bed, good shower, and a handy fridge. Daily housekeeping was a nice touch. Free Wi-Fi worked fine for browsing. The Downsides: It can be noisy at night due to street traffic and sirens. Light sleepers will need earplugs. Rooms are snug, so don’t expect space to sprawl. Verdict: A perfect ”home base” for a busy trip. Excellent value, great transport links, and all the essentials covered. Would stay again."

"Great hotel, good location, just a few minutes from Okubo/shin okubo station. Rooms were not bad, bigger than most room you see in Tokyo, but they are quite old. They have a system where you have to leave your keys when you leave. Pretty good as this means I'll never lose the key! Overall good hotel for its price. If you're just looking for somewhere to sleep, this is a great choice!"
