Amazing
LLuxiangxiI really liked the minimalist decor; it's better than a hostel since they're individual pods rather than bunk beds. You can only open your luggage on the bed. There's no lock on the door, but there's a locker to secure your belongings. It's quite close to the station, the bed was very comfortable, and the cleanliness was excellent—no dust in the corners. You have to change shoes right at the entrance of the building, where there's a shoe cabinet. It felt a bit warm at first, but then it was fine.

WWenmenglThis is a very clean hotel, comparable in class to an InterContinental-owned Holiday Inn. It seems that hotel rooms of this caliber in Japan are generally around 20 square meters, with some being a couple of square meters smaller and others a couple of square meters larger. The onsen bath on the fourteenth floor is really well-maintained with great attention to detail. The location is excellent; right across the street to the right of the main hotel entrance, there are several streets full of restaurants, offering a wide variety of choices. The breakfast is very good. I noticed a lot of people in the breakfast area wearing their room slippers. Hmm, I guess local brand hotels haven't learned their lesson yet.

GGuest UserThis hotel, being a new build next to the long-established Nakashimaya Grand Hotel, is naturally very new and clean. It's also functional and easy to use, providing a pleasant contrast to the more traditional and understated Nakashimaya. The front desk staff are efficient and professional, yet also warm and welcoming, which is a nice touch. The front desk is on the top floor and the exit is on the ground floor, offering convenient and unrestricted access. For breakfast, guests share the underground restaurant with Nakashimaya, and the menu is extensive, featuring local静岡 specialties like black hanpen and wasabi pickles.

Great
GGuest UserThe hotel is relatively new and the facilities are decent, seemingly quite upscale. However, the service completely shattered my long-held belief that Japan has the best service. The electric kettle in my room wasn't working; I wanted to make coffee, but the water temperature never increased beyond a lukewarm setting. I informed the front desk, and a young, delicate-looking woman came. After I explained, she opened the lid and said, 'This is hot water.' I poured it into a cup, and she touched it, saying, 'That's how it is.' I told her, 'This is only 40-50 degrees Celsius, how can I brew tea or coffee with this? I need boiling temperature.' She replied that she couldn't do that. I asked her what temperature a kettle should boil to, and she said there was no standard! I then told her the kettle was broken and asked her to replace it, to which she said they didn't have any. I ended up pouring a bottle and a half of cold water into the kettle, and when it still didn't heat up, she finally took it away. Throughout the entire interaction, her expression was blank and her attitude was slow and indifferent. I used to tell my friends that Japanese people's warm service isn't necessarily because they like you, but because their upbringing and professional ethics don't allow them to be rude. Now, I've witnessed such service in a 4/5-star hotel.

Great
KKen911TTA nice hotel with excellent hotel staff. Hotel room is quite large for Japanese standards. Rooms are clean and quiet. Hotel is about 5 or so minutes walk from the train station. I was able to lug around two large luggages to and from the station and hotel. Not to far of a walk. Would stay with again, but they were fully booked. Oh well, next time i will spend a little longer in Shizuoka.

BbleublueThe room is bigger than the usual japanese chained hotel. The front desk staff are friendly. Public bath available with rest/entertainment space allocated at top floor. Night snack provided free daily. Close to the main shopping street and the Isetan department store. The only disadvantage is 15min walking distance from Shizuoka station, especially with large luggage due to the stone pavement. In general, highly recommended.

GGuest UserThe hotel's floors feel like a museum, taking in the beautiful retro-style interiors. The service is good, and everyone is very polite. The hotel has only one washer and one dryer, which doesn't dry well. I ran the dryer twice for 30 minutes, and my clothes were still lukewarm, not hot as usual, and they weren't completely dry. I really didn't like the lack of a duvet cover; I've never seen that in Japan. The shared blanket lies on top of the sheets, which is unhygienic. The wallpaper in the rooms is torn, and the carpet is dusty. If the windows face the courtyard, the numerous ventilation pipes hum loudly. There's no room for a large suitcase; the bed is on the floor. Breakfast includes a variety of vegetable appetizers and pickles, miso soups, ramen, and a mix of Sichuan and Japanese cuisine. The chef makes an omelet with sakura shrimp, shirasu fingerlings, or your choice of cheese. There's no fresh fruit. The only fish/meat available was salted, bony fish. Breakfast took up a lot of space, but there wasn't much to eat, and most importantly, it wasn't tasty.

MMaki DinhI stayed here for two nights, and the hotel has a very convenient location. It takes about 7 minutes to walk to Shizuoka Station, less than 20 minutes to Sunpujo Park, and around 10 minutes to the Shizuoka Prefectural Office. Convenience stores such as 7-Eleven and Ministop are also just a 5-minute walk away. The hotel has useful facilities, including a coin laundry and an ice maker on the second floor. Breakfast is available, although I didn’t choose the breakfast option when booking. Soundproofing is quite good. I slept well and didn’t hear noise from nearby rooms. Overall, the staff were helpful and professional. Considering the price, I’m very satisfied with my stay and would recommend this hotel. Photos from the window of my room.

AAnonymous UserIt seemed to be the day of a fireworks display and was very popular that day. Check-in was done in one part of the coffee shop. We apologize when it is crowded as the general public also enjoys tea. The rooms have air conditioning, but the beds do not, so it feels very hot and difficult to stay there. There are no towels or toothbrushes. You need to bring your own. Earplugs were available at the washbasin. There is only one shower and one toilet, so you have to be patient when others are using them. I woke up in the middle of the night when someone came home and took a shower because of the noise. You have to cross a big road from the station, so it is better to go out with plenty of time to spare.

SShimadaInuFree unlimited alcohol at bar after 6 pm is totally beyond expectation. Room is quite big, with large size bathtub and separated toilet. Very quiet from my experience. The room I stayed does not have a window, not sure if it’s the common case. But I’m ok with that. The location should be considered as the major concern. It’s right beside the interchange of highway, so can be ideal for self-driving trips. However, for travelers by public transportation, you’ll have to use the local bus service, it can take quite a while to figure out how.(For anyone who may read this comment: if you depart from Shizuoka JR station, look for bus No.71 or No.27, and get off at Shizuoka IC stop , which is the closest stop from hotel) Generally I do enjoy the stay, and the nearby region has a lot of restaurants as well as convenient stores, will consider to come back if drive by next time.
