위지니I had a very pleasant stay at Garden Hotel Shizuoka. The location is excellent, with easy access to Shizuoka Station, shopping areas, and plenty of nearby restaurants, which made getting around very convenient.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, providing a relaxing space after a day of sightseeing.
I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which made it easy to rest.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in and check-out were smooth but one thing that surprised and slightly confused me at first was that the front desk is located on the highest floor rather than the main floor, which is quite uncommon, but it was easy to find once I realized

My first time in Shizuoka Prefecture, and I spent the first night at the Nihondaira Hotel.
Walking into the lobby, there's a huge glass curtain wall directly ahead. If the weather is clear and visibility is good, you can see Mount Fuji in the distance. Even every room faces Mount Fuji. At the foot of the mountain are Shimizu City, home of Chibi Maruko-chan, and Miho no Matsubara.
When I arrived at the hotel in the afternoon, it was overcast, and Shimizu City wasn't visible due to heavy fog and humidity. I was really hoping for clear skies the next morning. And my wish truly came true! At 5 AM, a thought flashed through my mind, I woke up, pulled open the curtains, and although the sun hadn't risen yet, a blush appeared in the southeast. Looking straight ahead, in the distant sky, a massive silhouette appeared – that was Mount Fuji.
Alright, I'm content. Hahahaha~
Staying at this hotel, you can completely, completely relax. You can lie in your room and zone out, or stroll on the huge lawn in front of the hotel, watching the shimmering lights of Shimizu City at night.
The booking price included dinner and breakfast. A bit pricey, but well worth it. Dinner was a French set menu (Menu in pic 7). For an additional 1600 yen, I upgraded to Japanese-produced Wagyu beef, which I highly recommend. It was grilled perfectly, locking in the pinkness, and the texture was tender and fresh both inside and out. For breakfast, I recommend choosing the Japanese set meal, as online reviews say the Western breakfast is terrible.

LuxiangxiI really liked the minimalist decor; it's better than a hostel since they're individual pods rather than bunk beds. You can only open your luggage on the bed. There's no lock on the door, but there's a locker to secure your belongings. It's quite close to the station, the bed was very comfortable, and the cleanliness was excellent—no dust in the corners. You have to change shoes right at the entrance of the building, where there's a shoe cabinet. It felt a bit warm at first, but then it was fine.

chaospittSHAlthough it's on Bar Street, it's very quiet because there aren't many customers there normally; it only gets lively when there's a big game on. While it's close to the tuna restaurant, you have to take a roundabout way to walk there. The facilities are quite basic.

I booked two single rooms on the ladies' floor this time, and the rooms were still very spacious and quiet. The ladies' floor also has a dedicated coin-operated self-service laundry room, and the rooms are equipped with hair straighteners, facial steamers, and even face masks and foot patches, all available for free. Overall, it's great value for money. The location is also excellent, less than a five-minute walk from Shizuoka Station.

Guest UserLocation of the hotel was excellent and right next to the train station. Breakfast was very small but it was included so can't really complain. We did enjoy our stay!

The hotel is relatively new and the facilities are decent, seemingly quite upscale. However, the service completely shattered my long-held belief that Japan has the best service. The electric kettle in my room wasn't working; I wanted to make coffee, but the water temperature never increased beyond a lukewarm setting. I informed the front desk, and a young, delicate-looking woman came. After I explained, she opened the lid and said, 'This is hot water.' I poured it into a cup, and she touched it, saying, 'That's how it is.' I told her, 'This is only 40-50 degrees Celsius, how can I brew tea or coffee with this? I need boiling temperature.' She replied that she couldn't do that. I asked her what temperature a kettle should boil to, and she said there was no standard! I then told her the kettle was broken and asked her to replace it, to which she said they didn't have any. I ended up pouring a bottle and a half of cold water into the kettle, and when it still didn't heat up, she finally took it away. Throughout the entire interaction, her expression was blank and her attitude was slow and indifferent. I used to tell my friends that Japanese people's warm service isn't necessarily because they like you, but because their upbringing and professional ethics don't allow them to be rude. Now, I've witnessed such service in a 4/5-star hotel.

bleublueThe room is bigger than the usual japanese chained hotel. The front desk staff are friendly. Public bath available with rest/entertainment space allocated at top floor. Night snack provided free daily. Close to the main shopping street and the Isetan department store. The only disadvantage is 15min walking distance from Shizuoka station, especially with large luggage due to the stone pavement. In general, highly recommended.

It seemed to be the day of a fireworks display and was very popular that day.
Check-in was done in one part of the coffee shop.
We apologize when it is crowded as the general public also enjoys tea.
The rooms have air conditioning, but the beds do not, so it feels very hot and difficult to stay there.
There are no towels or toothbrushes.
You need to bring your own.
Earplugs were available at the washbasin.
There is only one shower and one toilet, so you have to be patient when others are using them.
I woke up in the middle of the night when someone came home and took a shower because of the noise.
You have to cross a big road from the station, so it is better to go out with plenty of time to spare.

Basic cleanliness, interior, service, everything was the best
Basic unlimited popcorn, pudding, and drinks are provided, and beer, wine, and cocktails are provided from 6 PM to 12 AM
The sauna and rooftop pool that are available from 6 PM were also great
The only downside is that there are almost no convenience stores or restaurants around, so I had to take Uber for late-night meals.
