Hotels near Shinsegae Main Store, Seoul

Location is one of the best consider the price which is very affordable. I stay for 5nights however as they do not have many rooms, I think just 1-3 rooms per room types, they tend to sold out quite fast, which for my case, I have to change room type 3 times for the 5 nights stay. Some room is very small, which is expected for the price and the location. Plus point is that, a huge window to look outside. Room heating is also good during winter time, also room is clean and tidy. Only negative is that as I have to check out at 12pm and re check in again at 3pm if u have different room type, and staff may have different instructions on where to store your luggage. However they will bring it luggage to the room once it’s available which is good. Overall, for that pricing, no complaints.

Very nice and modern hotel. Staff was very friendly. We didn’t book breakfast because outside of the hotel are various breakfast options so we decided to save some money. The spa was very nice and clean. The cleanliness in the room was ok but could have been a little better. It was nice to have the options with different pillows. For us the mattress was very hard, but it might be normal in Korea. Location was really good and we appreciated the great ride with the airport shuttle. We felt like celebrities 😉

I was a tad surprised 😯 when I saw my room. Room 508 was super minimalist - everything was function able. The loo was next to the shower. It was kinda tricky getting the right temperature for a shower. There's a fridge. Bedsheets are clean and bright. There was no funky or musty smells. Laundry is available free on level 3 and 4. Detergent can be bought for 1000 krw on the 2nd level - just make sure to adjust the dryer temperature to 50-70 degrees celsius. I especially like the Mei Tofu eatery below Ziyolk - the owner is Korean Chinese - lunch and dinner are sumptuous for around 11k to 18k krw. Just avoid peak periods around 11.30am onwards and 6.30pm if you're shy, introverted and dislike noise. All in all it's a stupendous deal to stay for cheap in a tiny room.

Right next to Lotte Department Store, and you can reach Myeongdong's main street via an underground passage. Cheonggyecheon Stream is within walking distance, and Gyeongbokgung Palace is just a bit further. It's super convenient for getting around. Upon check-in, we received an exclusive OLIVE YOUNG coupon. We didn't bother with breakfast since there are so many food options nearby. We booked connecting rooms; they weren't huge, but having two bathrooms was a plus, and there was enough space to spread out our belongings.

The room size was decent; we had no trouble opening two 24-inch suitcases. There's underfloor heating, and it's conveniently located near Lotte and Shilla Duty-Free shops. Turning right out of the hotel and then left at the first intersection brings you right to the airport bus stop, which is super convenient. The hotel also offers a public lounge area with free coffee, and it's quite good! In the mornings, there's a lovely lady at the front desk who speaks Chinese, making communication easy. Plus, there are two 7-Eleven stores nearby. It kind of reminds me of an Atour hotel back home.

My first impression was that it was very clean, but a bit small! The bathroom had everything you needed. The location couldn't be better! It's just 100 meters in a straight line to the Shinsegae Duty-Free Shop and 450 meters to Lotte Duty-Free Shop! This place is a godsend for international shoppers, saving a lot of travel hassle. We booked late and didn't get a room with a window, which was a bit of a shame! If you care about your living environment, try to get a windowed room, though they are a bit more expensive. The downside is that the soundproofing isn't great, which isn't ideal for light sleepers. The upside: the breakfast is also very rich! Different kinds of porridge every day! Staple foods include bread, eggs, and cabbage and corn salad! You wash your own dishes. Disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste are provided! Just bring your own toothbrush cup and slippers!

This was my daughter's first trip to Korea, right after she graduated from high school. The hotel was quick and polite in responding to my email inquiries. We were able to leave our luggage secured in the stairwell (though I was a bit worried leaving it unattended for a while) and head out for sightseeing. The location was super convenient, on the 3rd or 4th floor, roughly across from the Starbucks at the post office. There was a new building under construction right in front of us. When we checked in, a staff member was there to help us with our luggage. On the way out, I had a lot of bags and had to make two trips, which was tough, but it's great that there's a 7-Eleven a few doors down and plenty of other convenience stores, plus it's right off the main street, so no complaints there. I felt safe even coming back late at night. The double-glazed windows kept the outside noise out, but since our room was near the stairwell entrance on the 3rd floor, we could hear other guests locking and unlocking their doors in the hallway, which was a bit bothersome. The shower worked fine without any issues, though the water tended to pool a bit at our feet. It was nice to have shared towels and water available, and the amenities were well-stocked, the hairdryer had good power, and the tea and kettle were appreciated. The refrigerator, however, didn't work; it wouldn't cool anything. I managed by putting ice from 7-Eleven in a cooler bag for yogurt and drinks. We pushed the twin beds together and had a comfortable 'girls' night,' feeling right at home. The price was reasonable, the location was convenient, and there wasn't a large lobby like in bigger hotels, so we could get to our room quickly. The compact layout, with the restroom right nearby, was actually a relief for our tired feet after a lot of walking. There was no room cleaning service. We learned to hang towels in the bathroom to keep the floor from getting wet and uncomfortable. It's also a good idea to put trash bins and slippers outside the room. The self-service check-in/check-out machine was great, allowing us to do it at our own pace. I'd definitely want to stay here again.

Location: The location is very convenient, with direct subway access to Gimpo Airport and KSPO. Namsan Tower is also right nearby. Hygiene: Overall, it was very good. The hotel interior was also clean. Usage: Every time I wanted to use the elevator, I had to scan a new QR code that popped up to get it to work. Since I used it frequently, I found it a bit cumbersome, but it definitely makes it much more secure. Facilities: I booked a bunk bed and I was on the top bunk. At first, climbing up hurt my feet, and then I realized the ladder was rusty and broken. However, since I was only there to sleep at night and was out all day, I didn't bother changing rooms. So, you might want to take some time to inspect it. The second picture might show it more clearly.

It didn’t feel like I was just a guest; it felt like I was being personally cared for. That level of sincerity is rare and made a lasting impression on me. The atmosphere of the guest house itself is perfect, comfortable, cozy, and thoughtfully designed to make you feel completely at ease. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and organized with great attention to detail. It created such a relaxing environment that it was easy to unwind after a full day exploring the city. The location is absolutely ideal. Situated in Itaewon, you’re surrounded by an incredible variety of restaurants, cafés, shops, and convenience stores. There’s always something to do, see, or try just steps away. At the same time, the guest house is tucked away just enough to provide a peaceful and quiet retreat when you need rest. It’s the perfect balance. What really stands out is how seamless and enjoyable the entire stay felt. Every small detail was taken care of, every interaction was pleasant, and everything worked exactly as it should. It’s the kind of place where you don’t have to think about anything, you can just enjoy your time. This wasn’t just a good stay, it was genuinely special. If I could rate it 1000/10, I would without hesitation. I would come back here again and again and again, and I would recommend it to absolutely anyone looking for comfort, warmth, and an exceptional experience in Seoul while on a budget. Cube Guest House is not just a place to stay, it’s a place that makes you feel at home, even when you’re far away. I can’t wait to return.
