Amazing
AAnonymous UserThis was my first time staying at this hotel (chosen because it is top-rated), but unfortunately it was a disappointing experience for me as a business traveller. Apart from the central location, the stay did not meet my expectations. I booked a double-bed room and requested the second floor with a temple view. The staff informed me that the second floor was fully booked, and even the double-bed rooms were unavailable, so they gave me a twin room (no. 3) and pushed the beds together. The only good part was that the room still had a partial temple view from the window. The room itself was beautifully decorated, but there were no basic amenities such as slippers, toothbrush, razor, or comb unless requested at reception. I returned to the hotel close to midnight after a long day, only to find the reception closed, no staff available, and no information on how to contact anyone. There was also no in-room phone. I had to walk barefoot on the cold hard floor, could not brush my teeth, and could not request an iron to prepare for my meeting the next morning. In the morning, staff were still not present at 6:00 AM when I needed toiletries. When they finally arrived, I overheard the housekeeper saying they had run out of stock and that I should “go buy it outside,” which made me feel quite unwelcome as a guest paying a high room rate. The receptionist then repeated the same message without offering any guidance on where to buy items. Additionally, while the hotel claims to reduce single-use amenities for environmental reasons, they still provide drinking water in plastic bottles instead of glass — something that should be improved. I would like to compliment the staff member on duty on the morning of the 12th Nov 2025 at around 6:00 AM. I wanted to prepare food for almsgiving, and he kindly gave me helpful advice. He even went to ask a nearby vendor to bring the items I needed so that I could receive the service conveniently. I truly appreciate his assistance and excellent service. Overall, the lack of essential amenities, poor service availability, and unprofessional attitude made my stay uncomfortable. This will be my first and last stay at this hotel.

CChou LeSatri House – A Living Museum You Can Sleep In Staying here feels like stepping into a beautiful dream from another era. Every corner is a work of art. The furniture, the layout, the little details—they all whisper stories of old Indochine charm. It doesn’t feel like a hotel. It feels like you’re actually living in a graceful, historic home. The architecture is stunning, and the garden and pool are simply gorgeous. Peaceful, timeless, and so beautifully kept. The staff are warm and genuinely kind. We used the bikes from the resort to explore town, and it added so much joy to the experience. Breakfast is à la carte, and each dish was delicious—thoughtfully prepared, never rushed. And somehow, every time we stepped out, we came back to a perfectly cleaned room. It’s the kind of care you don’t often see. Satri House isn’t just a stay—it’s a feeling. One I won’t forget.

Great
SShenhuiThis hotel is nestled in a valley, with several acres of rice paddies at its heart, creating a very natural and ecological environment. You'll often see cows, chickens, and cats roaming around. The breakfast selection is quite extensive, and the Chinese food is incredibly authentic. There are two Chinese staff members at the front desk, so communication was seamless for me. Although it's a bit far from the city center, there's a shuttle bus every hour, which makes getting around very convenient. Highly recommend!

GGuest UserSofitel is unique in Luang Prabang. Just as Tao Yuanming described in Peach Blossom Spring: At first it was very narrow, but only then could people pass through. After walking a few dozen steps, it suddenly became open. After checking in, walking through the corridor, you will immediately feel like you are in a paradise. The 26 rooms are arranged in a square circle, with a tree-lined courtyard in the middle, a 25-meter lotus pond on one side, and a swimming pool of the same size on the other side. All rooms are suites with courtyards and outdoor baths. The rooms are simply furnished, clean and beautiful, and the service is very thoughtful. The only drawback is that there is only one restaurant. However, 3 Naga is a sister hotel, and the hotel provides free shuttle bus to the hotel, which also increases the restaurant selection. I love the hotel because I love the city.

PPaul ManhoodWonderful smaller hotel in a quiet part of Luang Prabang that doesn’t attract the large, noisy tourist groups. Hotel is right across the road from the Mekong river and breakfast is served on a platform overlooking the river which is extremely scenic and peaceful. The hotel is close to all the main attractions in the city and the host and staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Was delighted to stay here.

MM432069****The hotel's exterior has a strong local flavor; every photo taken there is beautiful. The front desk has Chinese-speaking staff who are very friendly. While the room furnishings are a bit dated, the cleanliness is quite good. Because some rooms are under renovation, there's some dust during the day, but it doesn't affect occupancy. The only downside was that our room was on the second floor facing the street, and the noise from passing motorcycles at night was quite loud and slightly affected our sleep. Those who mind this should consider carefully before choosing this hotel.

GGuest UserThe hotel was lovely, conveniently located near the night market and restaurants, yet tucked away from the main road. The rooms were spacious, clean, and boasted comfortable beds. Breakfast offered a good selection of high-quality items. A welcome drink and fruit were provided upon arrival. The staff were very helpful, providing us with information about local attractions, and we easily rented a moped from the hotel for 180k. The pool area was pleasant, though mostly shaded. Some noise from the main garden area was audible through gaps in the doors, but the hotel was generally quiet, so it wasn't a significant issue.

FFeixueThe hotel is located in an alley by the Mekong River, but parking is available. It takes at most five minutes to walk to the Mekong River. It is convenient to eat and buy daily necessities around. The hotel is in a quiet location with a comfortable environment and clean bedding and rooms.

GGuest UserI found this gem of a hotel in Luang Prabang, and it was a truly amazing experience! The **Ya Hotel was definitely the biggest surprise of my several-day trip to Luang Prabang! From the moment I landed, I felt the warmth and convenience far exceeded my expectations. The hotel owner is a super nice, handsome Chinese man. A graduate of the National University of Laos, he's not only fluent in Lao but also deeply knowledgeable about local culture and customs. Before we left, we learned that we needed to prepare sticky rice for the morning alms offering. The owner thoughtfully pointed out the best street corner to view it from, and even emphasized the importance of maintaining silence and avoiding casual photography. Every day before heading out, he offered advice on food, drinks, and entertainment, and he always offered expert recommendations—from Laotian hot pot stalls hidden in alleys to authentic French bread at the night market. He even shared his bargaining tips, making it feel like I had a ”walking guide.” The hotel's location is impeccable! Located in the heart of the city, it's a 5-minute walk to the main route for the morning alms offering, allowing you to immerse yourself in this millennium-old Buddhist tradition without having to get up early and rush. Breakfast is particularly plentiful. A three-minute walk takes you to a restaurant on the main road. The aroma wafts from the open kitchen, nestled among bamboo trees. The owner highly recommends the basil, onion, and ground pork with sticky rice, served on a bamboo plate. The meaty aroma, combined with the aroma of the herbs, is incredibly appetizing. For just 15 yuan per person, you'll be completely satisfied. For a French-inspired experience, the corner bakery's freshly baked croissants paired with Laotian black coffee are a local favorite. I was lucky enough to run into a few fellow Tianjin residents who were craving steamed buns and fried dough sticks. The owner arranged everything with just a phone call—really nice! The hotel's location was a must-do for the evening: a 10-minute walk to the Mekong River. Stroll along the banks, watching the silhouettes of fishermen casting their nets fade into the sunset. Then, head to Mount Phousi, a 10-minute walk to its base. Our host had warned us that sunset over Mount Phousi is a must-experience in Luang Prabang. Climbing the cobblestone path, we'd encounter local couples clutching bouquets and tourists clutching cameras. The breeze carried the scent of incense from the mountain temples. We reached the summit just as the sun was setting, and the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers merged below us. The city's old French-style buildings and golden temple domes were bathed in a warm orange. Only when the last rays of light faded and the lanterns below gradually lit up did we reluctantly make our way back. The French Street Night Market is easily accessible from the hotel. Every day after 6 PM, the lanterns on the pedestrian street light up, and strolling there from the hotel is just in time for the night market's peak activity, allowing us to return to our rooms whenever we feel tired. The hotel's newly renovated rooms are bright and comfortable, with a fresh French-Lao design and thoughtful details. During the day, I beat the heat in the pool, the fragrance of frangipani flowers from the garden drifting onto the balcony. In the evening, after watching the sunset from Mount Phousi, I sat on the terrace, sipping a Laotian beer and quietly daydreaming, perfectly recreating the languid rhythm of Luang Prabang. Whether it was a morning shower after watching the alms offerings or a soak after a tiring night market stroll, it was an instant revitalizer. During my few days here, I truly experienced what it means to ”make a foreign country feel ordinary.” The owner, in fluent Lao, helped us with the car rental issue and chatted with my parents in Chinese about itineraries. This sense of trust, transcending language, was incredibly reassuring. If you want to fully experience Luang Prabang—watching monks walk barefoot through the ancient streets in the morning light, watching the sunset over Mount Phousi at dusk, and browsing for handicrafts at the night market—the **A Hotel is a surefire choice. It's an exceptionally cost-effective gem!
