The hotel exceeded our expectations! We booked a room for 3 adults and 1 child on our way to Ulaanbaatar. It's not centrally located, but in a quiet area near the train station. This suited us perfectly since we had our own car, and a great bonus was the private parking right outside our window. There's also a CU convenience store nearby for essentials.
The breakfast was simple but filling, with Chinese cuisine. It’s best to go around 8 AM, though the chef does replenish dishes later. Our room had a kitchenette, but no sink or necessary utensils, just a fridge (which we didn't use) and a kettle.
The room itself was very spacious and clean. Housekeeping came every day. We either had no neighbors or the soundproofing was excellent, as we didn't hear a thing.
The only downside was that the radiators were cold, so it was a bit chilly. However, since we were only there to sleep and have breakfast, we barely noticed it.
I definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for a good, quiet place with breakfast and private parking at a great price!

We checked in late at night. The staff at the reception desk understood Russian and helped us carry our two suitcases up to the second floor. It was cold, but there was a heater in the room, and it warmed up during the night. The water was barely lukewarm, and the cleanliness wasn't great. We found hairs on the bed, so we had to put an extra sheet over it. Overall, it's acceptable for one night.

The front desk staff here are very nice and helpful, which made check-in and day-to-day questions easy. The location is excellent, right near sukhbaatar square, and the hotel offers convenient amenities like on-site laundry. My room was comfortable with reliable hot water, which I appreciated.
However, during my five-night stay the room was never cleaned (it was supposed to be done on the fourth day). They did bring fresh towels, but I wasn’t allowed an extra pillow when I asked. Overall, the room itself was good and the staff friendly, but still room for improvement. A good stay.

Amazing value for money and a good location. Short walk to the center and the mayor business and office buildings in Ulan Bataar. And believe me, walking is the by far fastest and convenient way to get around in UB. The staff was really friendly, good English speaking and so helpful, as Mongolian people are in general.

The host was very friendly and explained the room layout and how to use all the equipment in detail. English was spoken throughout the stay, so there was virtually no language barrier. The hotel's location was quite good, within a 1-kilometer walk of the train station and conveniently located near key areas like Sukhbaatar Square and the State Department Store, easily accessible by foot or public transport. There was a convenience store diagonally opposite the main entrance, offering breakfast, daily necessities, snacks, and drinks. Turning right after exiting the back door, there was a green-fronted shop selling cigarettes and alcohol. The surrounding area had a variety of shops, fully meeting daily needs.

The hotel is not bad. Better than expected. The rooms are large. Everything is there. They even provide a small breakfast, although it is not mentioned in the description. Overall, we liked it. It is worth staying. There are disposable slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste, water, and everything for the shower. We liked it.

Aurora Hotel is a relatively new hotel in Ulaanbaatar, located along Peace Avenue in the western part of UB City. It is about 15mins walk to an Emart and it is also pretty easy to book a taxi/cab using UBcab mobile app to get around as visitors.
I highly recommend Aurora Hotel for short visits to Ulaanbaatar, despite it's non-central location. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. Breakfast had a decent variety and quality. Khulan Restaurant on the 2nd floor also serves good Mongolian cuisine.
The front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were served breakfast in our room during the Tsagaan Sar festival and it was a generous portion.
Unfortunately during our visit, the gym and sauna were closed and we weren't able to use them.

The room was very clean. However, probably due to recent renovations, some electrical outlet covers were missing, which could be a safety hazard. The ventilation in the non-air-conditioned room was poor; I hope more exhaust fans will be added. Also, the fan provided in the room had very weak airflow, which needs improvement.

GGuest UserI had a very pleasant stay at this hostel. The location is excellent—right in the city center and within walking distance of the main attractions, restaurants, shops, and public transport.
The hostel was cleaned daily, which made the stay comfortable and enjoyable. The internet connection worked well throughout my stay, and having access to Netflix was a nice bonus for relaxing in the evenings.
The owners were very friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with any questions or requests. There is also a balcony where smoking is allowed, which may be convenient for some guests.
A small tip for coffee lovers: if you plan to brew your own coffee, make sure to bring or buy coffee machine filters.
Oh, I loved their universal power outlet sockets that fit all plugs 2/3, flat/round, USB, C-something (I can’t recall the name) etc…
The only improvement I would suggest is replacing the plastic plates and mugs with ceramic or glass ones, as they would make the experience feel even nicer.
Overall, this hostel offers great value for money, a convenient location, and a comfortable atmosphere.
I don't think I'll be looking for any other place to stay anytime soon whenever I'm back in Ulaanbaatar.

GGuest UserReally Disappointing Communication, But Decent Hostel Overall
I contacted the hotel through Trip.com a week before my arrival but they never responded. I also sent two direct emails with no reply, and when I tried calling, the number didn’t work, not even when a Mongolian with a local SIM card tried. They claim to offer a shuttle service, but my request was ignored, then rejected bia trip.com, and I had to arrange my own transport. Only ONE HOUR BEFORE my flight departed did they finally message me saying they could arrange it, which was far too late to be useful. Also they couldn't be trusted at all. Communication and customer service were extremely extremely poor. Wondering if they ignore requests on purpose and they just cant be bothered replying to emails and messages?
My check-in was quite late, around 1:00 am, and since their website says check-in is only until midnight, I just wanted confirmation it was okay, but they ignored all my messages.
That said, the hostel itself is decent. The capsule beds are comfortable, even though my USB charger did not work. The showers are ok, and breakfast was ok too. Special thanks to the morning reception ladies who were kind and helped me get a Unitel SIM card.
To be noted that it is not even allowed to drink alcohol in the lobby, not even to quietly have a beer with someone else. I understand it is not a party hostel, but this rule feels a bit exaggerated.
Left after 1 night and went somewhere else where they offered a much better service

RryanningThe hotel is very close to Sukhbaatar Square, and the building has a historic feel to it, but the facilities inside are well-maintained. Just remember to bring your toothbrush!
When I checked in, nobody mentioned anything about toiletries. After showering, I realized there was no toothbrush. I called the front desk, and they said they don't provide them. The convenience store downstairs didn't have any toothbrushes, either because they were sold out or just didn't carry them. I had to get dressed and walk about 300 meters in sub-zero temperatures to another convenience store just to buy one.

DDuerjiaThe hotel is very clean, nicely decorated, and its location is great. Many city attractions are within walking distance. Breakfast was decent, and the views were excellent. However, I was a bit disappointed that the hotel had a separate breakfast area exclusively for Korean guests, and others weren't allowed in. I would have really liked to try it.

Parking is available for the hotel's guests (pay per hour) on the building's - 2nd ground floor. The breakfast selection is very limited during the off-peak season.

KKitKatKateThe hotel is modern and situated in a mall. It’s in a walkable spot to good locations e.g. The State Department Store and Black Market. Everything was very clean, the room was spacious and it was comfortable.
The woman on the reception desk was not particularly polite nor helpful - our keycard did not work immediately after checking in. The room was also very hot and the temperature could not be changed.

He called the taxi driver to find them instead of me because I had only my countries' phone number. On the last day, I tried to give him a tip, but he didn't take it because he knew there are no customes of tipping in my country. I was very moved by his all behavior. Meeting him made me think that I wanna go back to Mongolia again. I will absolutely stay at the same hotel when I go back to Mongolia. Thank you!!

GGuest UserI stayed at Eagle Town a second time on my way home from Mongolia, and even though I arrived late, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, especially the guy at the front desk whose name I didn't catch. He got me a ride to the airport the day after, and -- although this was a misunderstanding -- had prepared the room specially to house four people (I was traveling alone, but Trip.com had made it look like there were four of us).
The rooms are nice, with very comfortable beds, perfect after having been in the countryside for a week. The location is rather close to Chinggis Khan Airport, or at least as close as you're likely to get for now, and there are plenty of grocery stores and convenience stores in the area. I didn't have any use for the kitchen, but it seemed to be supplied with at least some basics for people who want to cook themselves.
