"As a chain international hotel apartment, this place is top-notch in China, from its hardware and facilities to its software amenities and service. First, the location is unbeatable, right above Capitaland Mall, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. Second, the room setup is excellent, with a washing machine, microwave, induction hob, and a full set of tableware, all from well-known brands. There are even robots delivering items throughout the building. I must also commend the cleaning staff; they are observant and proactively restock supplies. Of course, there are minor drawbacks, like the room being a bit small, and the deluxe studio not having a larger dining table, only one chair, etc., but these are minor issues that don't detract from the overall experience. I'm giving it a perfect score not because it's absolutely flawless, but because it delivers everything a hotel apartment can offer. I wish every city had a Fraser Place."

"I was a bit apprehensive before entering the room, mainly because of the negative reviews I'd seen before booking, which made me quite hesitant. Plus, it was the last day in Davos, and with people checking out continuously, I wondered if the hotel could clean the room in time – a real test of their service. However, the moment I opened the door, I was pleased. It was much better than I expected, and the night view from the window was quite nice. After looking around, it met my expectations for a family room. Most importantly, the kids liked it, with a carpet flight chess game, three TVs, and two bathrooms – essential for families traveling with children. While the room facilities had an older style overall, I didn't find them as bad as the negative reviews suggested. Of course, after putting down our luggage, I did notice some flaws, like fruit pits and bookbinding fragments that hadn't been cleaned up promptly. More issues cropped up during our stay. Although the lobby manager repeatedly apologized for the shortcomings before we checked out and even gave us a small gift, hoping we wouldn't write a review, my child expressed a wish to stay here again on our way home. That's why I'm writing all this. I hope the hotel can demonstrate the professionalism expected of a Shangri-La and make further improvements. After all, the problems we encountered shouldn't be excused by regional differences between north and south. Service has no regional boundaries; it's all about the experience. On a positive note, the hotel's QR code room service is commendable, and the cleaning staff's attitude was excellent. The pool is great for kids to play in and adults to relax; just remember to wear slippers as the room slippers aren't waterproof. The hotel's location is also good. Strolling towards Zhongshan at night with the sea breeze is a pleasant experience. It's about a 20-minute taxi ride to city attractions like Venice Water City and Central Plaza. Perhaps it was luck, but I even got a BMW, Denza, and Tesla as taxis – quite fortunate given the fast-paced Dalian ride-hailing drivers. So, overall, my few days here were good, which is why I gave the environment a high rating."

"Our first night in Dalian was at the Intercontinental, and it truly gave my family and me an unparalleled stay. The front desk, considering we had a child with us, upgraded us to a family room and breakfast, and even gave us a welcome gift. They thoughtfully arranged for the extra bed to be made up for our little one in advance. The room's amenities were excellent, maintaining Intercontinental's consistently high standards. The breakfast offered a wide variety, including local specialties like sea cucumber congee and Northeastern dishes, all of which were delicious. The staff were numerous, very enthusiastic, and incredibly efficient at clearing plates. From our room window, we could see several historic buildings in Zhongshan Square, indicating a prime location. All in all, I give it a 100% recommendation and will definitely stay here again on my next visit."

"We were given a free upgrade to an unbeatable family room with a panoramic sea view, and the view truly lives up to the 'unbeatable' description! The huge floor-to-ceiling windows face the Jinshitan coastline directly. You can lie in bed and watch the sky and sea merge into one, and at sunrise, the entire ocean turns golden – it's incredibly therapeutic. Honestly, though, the room itself was a bit compact, especially after setting up the kids' bed and luggage, leaving limited moving space. However, it was well-designed, and the family-friendly amenities were complete (kids' toiletries and small slippers were all provided). Right outside the hotel is a long stretch of beach, actually seven of them, with fine, soft sand and clean water. The kids dug in the sand, played in the waves, and collected seashells, refusing to leave until dark. The best part is how convenient it is – you just go downstairs and you're at the sea. Transportation is also easy, with a tram and electric carts available, which is fantastic for families with kids. Overall impression: Although the room was small, the view and convenience were absolutely worth the price. It's perfect for families seeking a sea view and a relaxing trip with children. If you're particular about room size, you might need to adjust your expectations, but for this sea and beach, I think it's well worth it. Our stay was a fantastic experience overall; the kids had a blast, and the adults relaxed. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a family trip to Jinshitan, Dalian!"

"Traveling through Northeast China with my father, Dalian was our first stop. Overall, Grand Hyatt was our top choice, primarily due to its excellent location and stunning views. We happened to be there during the Davos conference, which certainly tested the hotel's service, but within the Northeast hotel system, the Grand Hyatt handled it well. Firstly, Crystal (the front desk staff) had a pre-arrival touch and was consistently attentive to our stay experience. The ladies at the front desk who handled our check-in and check-out were both professional and friendly (apologies for not remembering their names). I visited the executive lounge on our first day for an iced Americano, and the service was impeccable. Even with such a huge crowd, breakfast was very well-organized. All in all, it was a pleasant trip."

"This hotel belongs to the Hong Kong-based New World Hotels & Resorts group, which also has properties in Beijing and Shenyang. This particular Dalian location stands out for its excellent service, though it does have several minor issues with its facilities. The in-room dining menu is bulky and takes up too much space, with an outdated layout lacking clear categories. It even had leftover food residue from a previous guest, making it only useful for propping up takeout. The room TV is quite small, and both the decor and furniture styles are old-fashioned. The carpet had a strange odor; even after switching rooms twice, the smell persisted and only improved when the windows were opened. I hope the hotel addresses this and gets rid of the odor. However, the service was exceptionally thoughtful. A front desk staff member even provided tokens for my child to play claw machines, and the manager was very considerate. The bathroom was spotless. The north-facing rooms offer great views, while the south-facing rooms can get stuffy due to insufficient air conditioning. Despite these flaws, the overall value for money is good. Its location is absolutely fantastic, close to Donggang and Zhongshan Square, surrounded by numerous seafood and Japanese restaurants. There's an incredible variety of food choices, making it a perfect place to stay if you're looking for a culinary adventure in Dalian. I sincerely want to give a big shout-out to all the hotel staff. I wish everyone smooth work and hope the hotel business thrives. I look forward to experiencing New World Hotels in other cities next time."

"This is Dalian's top five-star hotel, boasting breathtaking views of the cross-sea bridge. It features luxurious European-style decor and offers first-class service. The day before my arrival, a lovely staff member named Sunny proactively reached out to me. After adding her on WeChat, she provided a detailed overview of the hotel's facilities and services. On the day of check-in, she confirmed my arrival time and arranged my room in advance. After I checked in, she was incredibly attentive, checking in on me and promptly responding to any questions or needs I had."

"I've stayed at all the five-star hotels in Dalian – the Shangri-La, Grand Hyatt, Castle, Conrad, Hilton, and New World, from Donggang to Renmin Road and Xinghai. Years ago, I had a few meals and afternoon tea at the Kempinski, and my impression was quite good. This time, I was back in China for a business trip near the hotel. Even though the hotel had changed its name, I booked three nights and four days, drawn by fond memories and the convenience, as I had never actually stayed there before. The result was a huge disappointment! This is definitely a hotel I would never choose again. Let's start from arrival. Coming from the airport by taxi, I had one large suitcase and three carry-on bags. There were no staff at the entrance. Just as I was struggling, a male staff member saw the taxi and came out to help with my luggage. During check-in, the front desk staff said they had upgraded my room and very enthusiastically offered to take me to the room. In the process, they asked for my WeChat, saying it would be convenient for service. After I gave it to them, they just turned around and left, not escorting me to my room. This felt very insincere! They completely disregarded how tiring it is for a customer who has just traveled. So I dragged all my luggage by myself to the room, which turned out to be a corner room next to a dilapidated fire exit. Upon entering, my first impression was that the hotel's blackout curtains were fully closed, and the colors were very dark, making the whole room feel incredibly oppressive. I then requested a room change. Later, a young female staff member came to the room to bring a new key card, helped me view the new room, and assisted with moving my luggage. Her service was excellent! I'd like to thank that young lady. Now, about breakfast. I only went once out of three days and didn't bother going again. The food was unappetizing, and the hygiene was poor. Uncleaned dishes were left in plain sight after guests finished eating. Waiters constantly made screeching noises dragging chairs. Two waiters were chatting, and even after I signaled them, they didn't respond. And the attitude of the chefs making noodles at the Chinese food station – they were joking and laughing, and customers had to ask multiple times before getting a reply. The entire restaurant staff lacked a sense of service. I considered changing hotels in the middle of my stay, but I was too lazy to bother. I finally endured until checkout day. The front desk then asked for a good review, without asking about my real feelings at all. The entire check-in and stay experience was awful. I honestly can't give a positive review against my conscience."

"The guest rooms at Xita Hotel have a rather heavy design style, and the renovation quality is quite poor. However, the overall service is excellent. After checking in, my child suddenly wanted some fruit. I casually asked a staff member, and even though the hotel doesn't usually provide complimentary fruit, two lovely staff members brought three fruits (a banana, an orange, and an apple) for my child. While not particularly fancy, it truly warmed my heart. I believe these fruits were probably their personal snacks. They even brought a rocking horse for my child to play with. One of the staff members was named Liu Lili – I apologize for forgetting the other lady's name. I'm incredibly grateful for their kindness and enthusiasm! Given the room rate is around a thousand yuan, I'd suggest the hotel should definitely offer complimentary fruit and small snacks. The cost is negligible, but it would make guests feel even more appreciated, otherwise, you might lose business to other hotels! Also, the hotel breakfast was very ordinary, which was disappointing."

"1. The service attitude was excellent across the board, from the front desk and housekeeping to the gym and pool staff. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and handled issues with professionalism. 2. The rooms are quite new, and the bedding was impeccably clean. Daily housekeeping was very efficient; the turndown service was usually done by the time we returned from dinner, allowing us to just settle in for the night. 3. The breakfast selection and quality were consistently good, in line with what you'd expect from a Four Seasons property. Even when a large group checked in during our stay, the service remained seamless. The beef patties were particularly delicious! 😋 4. There were a couple of minor drawbacks, though. The showerhead next to the bathtub in our room was broken and constantly leaking. However, overall, these small issues didn't detract from a wonderful stay. This is definitely a highly recommended place to stay in Dalian."
