It has all the essentials and is very clean. The mattress was comfortable. Of course, it can't compare to high-end or luxury hotels. Its main advantage is its excellent location; it's very convenient for exploring, and you can easily pop back for a rest when you get tired. **Service:** The staff were very service-oriented. When we arrived, there weren't many guests, and the service was very attentive. **Breakfast:** It's not a buffet; it's a fixed-menu breakfast, like a 'nine-grid' style. It looks very appealing, and the taste is decent enough to fill you up. Overall, it's a good stay. Naturally, for this price point within the ancient city, you shouldn't compare it to hotels of the same price outside. It's incomparable, primarily due to its superb geographical advantage."

The hotel is ideally located in the heart of the ancient city, within walking distance of major attractions like the County Government Office and Xietongqing, making getting around incredibly convenient. The courtyard is an authentic Jin-style quadrangle, lush with greenery and vibrant red lanterns, creating a serene and picturesque atmosphere that's perfect for photos. Our room was spotless and tidy, with fresh linens replaced for each guest, and equipped with modern amenities like a smart toilet, offering a comfortable blend of old and new. The butler service was attentive and thoughtful; they helped us plan our sightseeing route in advance, enthusiastically assisted with our luggage, and provided fresh, abundant breakfasts daily. Any questions we had were promptly answered. From its prime location and beautiful courtyard to the excellent room facilities and personalized service, everything was impeccable. "This hotel has a fantastic vibe, apparently designed by a Beijing-based architect. The space is exquisite and super photogenic! The food was delicious 😋 and the butler service was excellent. The sound system in the room was amazing, and the in-room amenities were thoughtfully chosen and high-quality! Highly recommend! It's also very close to the high-speed train station, so you don't need to arrange transportation too far in advance."

"I did not want to leave. That is the most honest thing I can say about Xihe Academy. ”Guest house” is a label that does not prepare you for what this place actually is. If you are American and hearing that term for the first time, forget whatever image just came to mind. This is not a MIL suite tucked behind someone's garage. This is a fully realized, deeply considered experience wrapped inside one of the most stunning environments I have ever walked into. The courtyard alone stopped me mid-step. The surrounding area looks like an active film set -- you keep half-expecting to hear ”action” called from somewhere just off camera. And then you step inside and somehow it gets even better. I genuinely lost my words. The room is the kind of space where you realize someone has actually thought of everything. Included minibar. Fresh fruit and snacks. Loose-leaf tea so you can brew a proper cup. Bathrooms fully stocked down to the shower shoes. You can arrive with nothing but your clothes and be completely at ease. They have handled the rest. The staff made all of it feel personal. When a language barrier created a small miscommunication, they were patient and gracious without a flicker of frustration. When I joked that I had gone a little crazy shopping and could not close my suitcase, they immediately offered suggestions to help. That warmth is not a policy -- it lives in the people. They coordinate meals as well, and mine was delivered to my room and genuinely delicious. One thing I will say without hesitation: use their driver. This is a private, gated area and you cannot simply grab a random car or rideshare. Arrange your pickup from the train station or airport in advance -- it is seamless, affordable, and completely worth it. Do not skip this step. This was my first guesthouse experience, and Xihe Academy has set a bar I was not expecting to clear so soon. If you stay here, you will not regret it. Five stars is not enough."

"This top-tier luxury guesthouse in Pingyao Ancient City had a smooth check-in experience. An electric cart was already arranged to pick us up from the parking lot, and the driver was very friendly, helping us with our luggage and providing information about the ancient city along the way. Check-in was quick upon arrival, and the staff even helped us turn on the air conditioning. The room was beautifully decorated and fully equipped with top-brand amenities. Drinks and snacks in the refrigerator were complimentary, and we were even given welcome fruit. The breakfast was plentiful, and the manager was very welcoming. Overall, a fantastic experience! I've decided to stay longer next time. One day's stay was too rushed! A huge thumbs up! Highly recommended."

"A very nice hotel with very friendly staff and nice rooms. We recommend the VIP building. The breakfast was chinese and western. The hotel is placed outside the city wall and can be reached easily with taxi or DiDi, but only a few steps to enter the ancient city area. The only field to improve is some basic English for foreign guests, but at the end we managed to communicate :-). See you again!"

"Yun Jin Cheng Hotel is the ultimate guesthouse experience in Pingyao, located right in the heart of the ancient city on West Street, adjacent to Rishengchang, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. This three-hundred-year-old Jin merchant courtyard is wonderfully antique and the courtyard layout is perfect for travel photography. The butler provided a full guided tour of the mansion's history, giving it a rich cultural atmosphere. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable to sleep in, and the toiletries provided were excellent plant-based ones. When I didn't have time for breakfast because I was taking photos in my Hanfu, the hotel thoughtfully packed a portable breakfast for me – the attention to detail was exceptional. The service was gentle and attentive, perfectly blending ancient charm with thoughtful care. I highly recommend staying here when you visit Pingyao!"

They provide high-quality toiletries from Le Labo, mouthwash from Appelles, and a Dyson hairdryer – truly premium personal care products. 2. Since it was the off-season, the hotel upgraded our room. And due to an unforeseen issue on the first night, they upgraded our room again, showing their excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Upon check-in, they immediately offered food recommendations and a travel guide. 3. Every afternoon, we received a delightful delivery of fresh fruit, selected snacks, and a heartwarming sweet soup. It was a lovely touch that made us feel very cared for. Plus, breakfast could be delivered to our room to enjoy at our leisure. Overall, this was an absolutely amazing stay!"
