"Facilities: Very good Cleanliness: Cleaned very well every day Ambience: Great location, I like the hotel design Service: Initially, the service was okay, but I felt a lack of responsibility. I forgot to pick up my child's allergy medicine when I left the hotel on Tuesday. They called and promised to ship it to Four Seasons Osaka the next day at the latest. They called on Thursday afternoon and were told it hadn't been shipped yet. After repeated calls, they finally delivered it to the hotel on Thursday evening. I'm speechless. Is Four Seasons service this bad these days?"

Hotel near Ohara/Kibune/Kurama,Kyoto
Trip.BestNo. 1 of Luxury Hotels in Kyoto
Set in a secret garden at the heart of a forest, Aman Kyoto lies at the foot of Mount Hidari Daimonji. The resort’s latticed guest rooms pay contemporary homage to the traditional Japanese ryokan inn, each framing spectacular natural surroundings. The changing seasons offer views of lush green maple leaves in early summer and stunning autumn foliage. Dining options include innovative cuisine that captures the essence of the seasons, as well as an exquisite omakase kaiseki, reflecting the artistry of Japanese culinary tradition. Aman Spa, with its mineral-rich natural hot springs, provides a deeply relaxing experience while forest bathing walks and meditation amidst serene natural beauty offer a profound connection with nature. Located just a stone’s throw from Kyoto’s golden Kinkaku-ji Temple and 16 other UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Aman Kyoto is ideally situated to explore the cultural treasures of this ancient city.

"As a noble among hotels, this price certainly makes us expect a lot. The selling point of Aman Kyoto is the garden. I think this is also very good in the hotel environment all over the world. The environment is very beautiful and the air is fresh. It is very comfortable to stay in the hotel without going anywhere. It is suitable for vacation. It would be a pity to visit tourist attractions. But compared to the garden, what impressed me most was the service. I used to think that the services of five-star hotels were similar, but when I saw the staff here, I really felt that they put the service awareness into their hearts. They didn't say no to any of our requests throughout the whole process. For our living habits, they would remember and prepare what we needed every day. The staff's English is much better overall, and they can communicate in English without any obstacles. We didn't want to waste the breakfast bread, so we asked the staff if we could pack it up and waited for a long time. What we got was a bag of bread that was sealed in plastic and put in a paper bag. What shocked me most was that after we arrived at the next hotel, the staff of this hotel told us that Aman contacted them and asked them to prepare to receive us. We thought about it carefully, and the only possibility was that they asked them to call a taxi, and they knew we were coming here to stay. This detail really touched us. The disadvantage is that the transportation is very inconvenient. After all, it is in the mountains, so there is such a good view. The room facilities are just ordinary five-star standards. There is no private hot spring and no gym in the whole hotel. In general, the price is very expensive, but my family said that they are still willing to experience it if they have the opportunity. Staying in the hotel and enjoying the meticulous, home-like service and beautiful scenery is luxury enough."

"We booked one of the rooms with the best views a month in advance. The 68-square-meter room was incredibly spacious, offering stunning panoramic views of Kyoto, centered around the iconic Yasaka Pagoda. Service was exceptionally warm and attentive from the moment we stepped out of the car at the hotel entrance. Upon check-in, welcome drinks like champagne and sake were offered. They can also assist guests with reservations at the popular Kohaku Bar. The gym is cleverly designed, although a bit compact. A slight downside is the hotel's location right next to popular tourist attractions, which means many visitors and potential traffic congestion when traveling by car during peak hours. However, the ability to enjoy peaceful evening strolls through Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka largely offsets this minor inconvenience."

The HOSHINOYA Kyoto is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The HOSHINOYA Kyoto is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Kyoto. Boasting a convenient location, the hotel is just 600m from Arashiyama Station and 48km from Osaka International Airport. Seeing Kyoto's sights from this hotel is easy with Arashiyama, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and Okochi Sanso Garden all close by. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. This Kyoto hotel provides parking on site.

"I am from Yangzhou, Jiangsu. Although Yangzhou is a garden city, there are many such style escape hotels in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Hongxi Noya of Hoshino Group is definitely worth living. The overall health is very good, the facilities are well maintained and there is no musty smell. That is, all the windows can be wiped clean. This time I checked in in the evening. When I took a taxi, I saw the sunset of Lushan, which was a value-added item. The reception staff was very polite and welcoming. At night, the girl was invited to drive us to the hotel entrance. This road was too standard, almost standing on the mountain, and there was a feeling of adventure. When I checked out, I felt the ship of Hoshino. By the way, I recommend the dyeing workshop and Zhai Pavilion are diagonally opposite. If you like the scenery, it is worth seeing."

"The advantages are that the surrounding environment is relatively quiet, there are relatively few guests, and there will not be too many problems with the service process; the disadvantages are average cost performance, the landscaping is very rough and does not meet the quality of this price range, especially the hotel restaurant is not recommended, the price is expensive and the taste is very average, the breakfast is also very ordinary, and other means of transportation except taking a taxi are basically walking, and the air conditioner is a bit noisy."

Hotel near Nijo Castle,Kyoto
Trip.BestNo. 6 of Luxury Hotels in Kyoto
HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO, recently awarded the highest Three Key hotel distinction by Michelin, is the first of the HOTEL THE MITSUI brand of iconic, ultra-luxury properties, designed to embody and reflect the harmony between the natural environment, the four seasons, and the five senses. Located in the heart of Kyoto, adjacent to the legendary Nijo Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, our Kyoto luxury hotel is an idyllic sanctuary honoring ancient Japanese traditions and embodying the legacy and spirit of Kyoto. The hotel is built on a 250-year-old historic site that was once the home of the executive branch of the Mitsui Family, carefully designed to reflect a luxurious ambiance of refined sophistication. The first Japanese hotel to receive a Five Star rating from Forbes Travel Guide in its opening year’s inspection—and maintain it for four consecutive years—is also featured on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2024 Gold List and is the only Kyoto property, and one of just six in Japan, to earn the Michelin Three Key distinction in 2024. and named in the list of the World's 50 Best Hotels 2025, HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO is an awe-inspiring feast for the spirit and the senses and a cultural gateway to discover everything Kyoto has to offer.

"We loved our stay at Hotel the Mitsui. Super nice and zen design . Absolutely adore their lobby area, which I think is designed by Andre Fu. Always drawn into his work somehow. Breakfast food was okay, but the view really made up everything l. Super relaxing & beautiful Service was great. Most of them were able to speak English proficiently. There’s a thermal spring at their basement, which you have to call the reception before you go to ensure there’s enough space. Everything was well prepared, including swimwear, disposable underpants, towels, water, etc. Since they control the # of people, everyone has their own space and it still feels very private. Room is nice with many details. Love their huge selection of pillows available for guests. It’s not huge, but the space is well used. Location wise, I wouldn’t say it’s the most convenient, but if you take a cab, everything is reachable in 20 mins max, so it’s not too bad. There are still good restaurants and touristy places to go that are in walkable distance, so it’s not middle of nowhere. Overall, fantastic experience which I will recommend for others!"

"Stayed for a few nights, really comfortable, heard the sounds of birds and cicadas every day, all the staff were nice and polite, had their own hot springs, after playing you could soak in the hot springs in your room, and the hotel could get your luggage from Kyoto Station round trip to the station, very convenient, because Jiashuiyuan is on the other side of the hotel, like a paradise, the only bad thing is that some insects or geckos will accidentally enter the room, because I am afraid of insects, so have called the hotel The personnel help with it, but basically me, the hotel is really nice."

"The price doubles and goes up. I have stayed in this hotel many times. It always feels good. I came here again after many years and felt that the overall service and the quality of the food in the hotel were much worse. In particular, the service may be understaffed during the peak season, but it is indeed a very good hotel. Be sure not to make any mistakes when booking a hotel, otherwise he will be unkind and only care about money! "

"We chose a large corner room with windows on both sides. The hotel building has a history of more than 200 years. The location is great. It is right at the entrance of Kiyomizu Temple Commercial Street. It is quiet in the bustling city. The hotel is very quiet and elegant, with high-end decoration, complete facilities and excellent service! Breakfast is served in a library-style restaurant, which is very special. I highly recommend Japanese breakfast. Everyone thinks it is high-end Japanese cuisine when they post it on WeChat Moments. There are also vegetarian and children's meal options for breakfast. I also strongly recommend the window seat in the executive lounge. Drink Japanese tea or Japanese whiskey in the afternoon and look at the quaint buildings outside. It is worth the effort!"

Outstanding
GGuest UserIt's neither cherry blossom season nor autumn foliage season, so I expected Kyoto to be less crowded in September, but it wasn't. This time, I stayed in the Executive River View Suite, room 202, at the Ei-Kamo Residence. Facing the Kamogawa Delta, I could just open the curtains and see the river. Even just staring blankly at it was incredibly relaxing. Room Type: Executive River View Suite, approximately 60 square meters, which is quite large for a Kyoto hotel. I recommend choosing room 202, as it faces the delta without any obstructions. I also checked out room 302, which had a small terrace but a tree obstructing the view. Ultimately, I chose room 202. Transportation: While it's not located in the city center, it's just across the bridge from Keihan Railway Station, Demachiyanagi Station. It's very convenient to get to Shijo and Sanjo, and even transfer to Keihan Railway Station later in Osaka. Shimogamo Shrine is nearby, so if you don't have any other plans, you can visit it; it's about a ten-minute walk away. Service: During my five-day, four-night stay, the hotel staff warmly greeted me upon arrival and departure. I'm really grateful to Ms. Deng, a Chinese staff member, for her dedication to resolving any issues I encountered during my stay. She even went so far as to help me find transportation to my desired destinations. Food and Beverage: This hotel isn't large, with only six rooms. Breakfast is prepared and delivered to your room by the staff in advance. If you're looking for something special, just let them know. I initially thought it wouldn't be enough for two people, so I bought a lot from the convenience store. It turned out to be more than enough. Overall, if you're not visiting Kyoto for shopping or special forces, this hotel is highly recommended. I hope the prices won't be so high next time during peak season.

It seems more integrated in Kyoto Six Senses Kyoto is one of the few international Six Senses without natural landscapes. It can be seen that he wants to make up for the shortcomings with refinement. It's so small that even a doorstop and a trash can are the work of foreign designers. In addition to a la carte breakfast, the hotel also has buffets. Every dish is made with great care and delicious.
