"A magnificent hotel in an extraordinary late 19th-century building. Elegant rooms equipped with slippers, bathrobes, iron, ironing board, soap, shaving kit, safe, etc. My room also had a sofa and two armchairs, a coffee table and two chairs. Everything was very elegant. There was also a wet bar with a Lavazza coffee machine and kettle, and of course, pods and tea. A convenient wardrobe and dressing area with space for suitcases. Top. Breakfast is served in the building's original and antique-decorated rooms, featuring mosaics, marble columns, and antique furnishings. If you arrive by car, you can park in front of the hotel and give them the keys. They will take your car to and from the hotel for €12, plus the €20 daily parking fee. Recommended. Bravo, Paris Hilton!"

"I loved our overnight stay at The Modernist! It’s a chic, smart, arty hotel in the centre of the city, easy walking distance to all the shopping, bars and restaurants. The room was spotless with tea, coffee, minibar and toiletries all provided. The restaurant and cocktail bar serves creative cocktails, a great buffet breakfast and a fabulous dinner - we enjoyed them all!!"

"I made my first trip to Trieste. The hotel is close to the station and you can walk to the downtown area, so the location is good. Access to tourist bases is also outstanding. The hotel itself is old, but it would be better to say that it has a taste. The room was clean, the shower was full of water pressure and the hot water came out immediately. If you eat breakfast well, is it good for a triple stroll? I enjoyed drinking late at night at a nearby bar and returned to the hotel, but it is a city without any anxiety"

"Frequent weekend awayer's we loved everything at this boutique style hotel. The staff and front desk were aware of our needs before we were. The vehicle valet parking truly convenient as parking in Trieste can be daunting if you don't know your way around. We loved breakfast and it was beautifully presented and cooked to order. We could have sat eating all day! The room was fitted with an amazingly comfy bed and pillows and the decor delights the senses. We will certainly return to this gem."

"Great location (though I regretted not booking the Hilton doubletree around the corner). Feels more like an Airbnb serviced by a hotel. Checkin process was confusing (had to go to a different hotel - hotel said we got instructions but we checked and had nothing from them). We got great restaurant recommendations from the front desk attendant. The coffee in the room is not free - they charge a euro for each capsule. Who does that these days? We paid for breakfast as part of our stay. Breakfast was ok but very weak compared to most places at this price we have stayed at. The coffee (as per of breakfast) was wonderful. Parking was cumbersome - we had to park in a nearby garage which was a good 10 minute walk away. Overall a solid experience but we expected more given price and alternatives in Trieste. Trieste itself was marvelous especially miramare castle"

"I have only positive things to say about the Victoria Letterario, even after the shock during the check in. Upon arrival for check in, the reception staff told me that my booking was cancelled! I showed them the communication of trip.com 3 days earlier confirming my booking, which their system has not registered. Jorge, the concierge, was very apologetic and offered me the only room available that day which I accepted, while he will get in touch with the intermediary to find out what went wrong. It appears that trip.com and similar platforms purchase the beds in great numbers from a company hotelbeds.com- I went to my room and I came down with my iPad and I and Jorge got in touch with Trip.com via my account. Trip.com replied immediately, confirming my booking and promising that they will get in touch with hotelbeds.com. As it was already 7pm, Trip.com did no manage to get through the staff at hotelbeds. Trip.com advice that if hotelbeds.com did no reply or confirm the booking then I'll have to pay and Trip.com will refund me right away. I was happy with that. I stayed the 2 nights in the hotel, and only the morning of the day I checked out the hotel Victoria Letterario received finally the confirmation of the booking from hotelbeds. Trip.com was every effective in dealing with the issue and I'll use them again and Jorge, at the Victoria Letteriario dealt with the issue very professionally all they way through, so did the manager of the hotel too. Trieste is a small city, and you can walk from the hotel to the major landmarks in 20 minutes. I loved the decoration of the rooms, the bathroom was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The TV channels were all in Italian but I don't care much about the telly when I travel. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast, it has everything that a good hotel breakfast should have and more, namely its attentive staff. A five stars stay!!!"

"Right in front of Trieste Central Station. It was very convenient to go anywhere. There was also a supermarket nearby. I chose an economy double room, which was on the top floor, the 4th floor, and it was much larger than I expected, and the heating was also good. There was no tea set in the room. Although I didn't use it this time, light meals (frozen or refrigerated) and snacks were sold at the reception, and there was a microwave. I would like to stay here again when I stay in Trieste."
