"A Hidden Gem in the Heart of China's Tea Plantations
Our stay at this homestay was nothing short of magical. We traveled as a group of eight, including two young children, three grandparents, and three adults, and every single one of us had an incredible time. Nestled amidst lush tea plantations, the setting is absolutely stunning. Each morning, we woke up to breathtaking sunrises and a serene mist that blanketed the landscape. The house itself is a work of art—crafted entirely of wood and with impeccable aesthetic taste that reflects a deep respect for nature.
But as beautiful as the surroundings and accommodations are, the true highlight of our stay was the hospitality of the host. In our three years in China, we have never experienced anything like it. From the moment we arrived, it felt as though we were visiting a dear friend rather than staying in a hotel. Her warmth, generosity, and genuine care made us feel completely at home.
The food was exceptional, and we were treated to fresh fruits and tea throughout the day. She showed special care for our children, teaching them (and us!) how to make tea, and even accompanied us on a walk to share her knowledge of the local flora. One day, she surprised us with her hidden talent as a musician, singing traditional Chinese songs while playing the guitar and drums. Her smile and positive energy were infectious, leaving a lasting impression on all of us.
This homestay was more than just a place to stay—it was an unforgettable experience filled with beauty, warmth, and cultural connection. We left with full hearts and wonderful memories, knowing this was the best place we've ever stayed in China. If you're looking for a place that offers not just comfort but also an extraordinary sense of belonging, this is it. Highly recommended!"

"The hotel environment is beautiful and perfect for a vacation. We checked in on February 24th, and it was still quite busy. The surrounding area is also lovely, nestled among mountains with fresh air. However, since the holiday wasn't quite over, the occupancy rate was high, and the hotel staff were clearly insufficient, leading to inadequate service. The swimming pool was neglected, filled with fallen leaves, making it unusable. In the restaurant, there were only a few staff members who were overwhelmed and eventually just gave up. For breakfast, with so many people, they simply couldn't keep up with clearing tables. Overall, aside from the nice environment, the service was virtually non-existent. The staff seemed untrained and couldn't answer many questions. It felt like they were overwhelmed by the crowd today. We had booked for four nights, but couldn't stand it anymore, so we checked out two nights early. The hotel was good about providing a full refund, which was a plus. I'd recommend it for vacationers who prioritize the environment, but avoid going during peak times; maybe then the service would improve."

"First of all, the auxiliary building has nothing to do with the main building. There is another district so far away that it is impossible to find it by car. There is not much environment around this villa area. When we arrived, we were the only family in the hotel, which was quite scary. Secondly, a cockroach crawled into the makeup box and ran out. It was so scary."

Raising your eyes is a continuous distant mountain, with a blue-top building, and blue sky and white clouds, with a wide view, and the whole person is relaxed and happy. The kitchen space of the homestay is spacious, very suitable for cooking with your own ingredients. Everyone cooperates in division of labor. Girls catch ducks and ducks, boys wash dishes and choose dishes. "The experience of staying this time far exceeded expectations. The service that I want to praise most is intimate and thoughtful, which makes people feel comfortable! The staff received the car warmly, the check-in was efficient and fast, and also took the initiative to introduce the layout of the facilities, the surrounding play guides and food recommendations, and the details were full. The room was cleaned very meticulously, the bedding was clean and tidy, and there was no smell. The bathroom had no dead ends, which made people live in a particularly reassuring place."

The homestay boasts a cozy and comfortable environment, brimming with the local charm of ethnic minorities. Activities like mushroom picking, nighttime excursions, and lure fishing showcase the owner's thoughtful touches. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and warmly decorated. Surrounded by pristine forests, waking up to the homestay's chickens in the morning was simply wonderful. The most unforgettable aspect was the owner's hospitality. He was like a friend, enthusiastically introducing local customs and activities, and sharing fragrant Pu'er tea. His sincerity was incredibly heartwarming. The common areas are stylishly designed, perfect for relaxing, enjoying tea, and chatting. At night, stargazing on the rooftop while listening to the chirping of insects completely melted away all my fatigue.
While located a 1.5-hour drive from Jinghong city center, Xinwo Homestay is a bit far from the city center. If you also yearn for the tranquility and aroma of tea in Menghai and crave a warm and welcoming travel experience, Xinwo Homestay is definitely the perfect choice! Highly recommended for every traveler seeking nature and warmth; it deserves five stars! I will definitely come again!

AAnonymous UserIn December, two rooms were set in advance. I arrived at around 2:40 in the afternoon. There was no prompt sign at all. Later, the waiter came out to pick us up, otherwise I couldn't find it at all.
When I arrived upstairs, I was told that the room was not cleaned up. We said that we could wait. As soon as we entered the room that had not been cleaned, we smelled a smell. The waiter said that the previous guests brought cats and dogs so it was very stinky, but the smell was really unbearable. Later, the waiter went to get the disinfectant to mop the floor, and then the smell was mixed with the disinfectant, and the taste was even more indescribable.
We asked for a room change, because the other room was normal, and the hygiene was not done. The administrator said that all rooms were booked and could not be exchanged. Request a normal accommodation room, this request is too much? We are paying for a normal reservation, not free accommodation.
Later, after the contact number of the homestay on Ctrip, I agreed to give the exchange. That is to say, the room is there, the feeling is particularly bad, and the people will emphasize that there are many people during the Spring Festival. This is not a reason for giving guests a smelly room!

GGuest UserIt is still quite a long way from Menghai to Zhanglang Ancient Village. The proprietress specially drove to pick us up and also saw us off when leaving, which was very considerate.
After checking in, we received one-stop service for food, drink, and entertainment, which felt very good.
Eat: Breakfast is wood-fired hanging pot bean porridge, which is very delicious. I drank three large bowls around the stove and was satisfied. Lunch is mushrooms picked in the mountains. The bright red mushrooms are like elves in the mountains, so beautiful and spiritual. Simple mountain spring water stews into a mushroom soup with a strong aroma of fungus. Dinner is wild vegetables and pumpkin sprouts picked randomly by the roadside, which are also very delicious when stir-fried. By pounding bitter eggplant, pounding river bamboo shoots, and pounding tomatoes, you can taste the unique flavor of the mountains. I also ate their own wild honey, which was sweet to my heart.
Drink: The landlady brought out various kinds of ancient tree tea and Pu'er tea for us to taste. With the sound of rain outside the tearoom and the faint fragrance of tea in the tearoom, we chatted about home affairs in an understated way. I felt that although the landlady is young, she has a sense of self-reliance. The sense of self-reliance and strength brings respect.
Wan: Even though the lady boss is young, she got on her motorcycle and took the two of us on the muddy road in the mountains. She was very cool and comfortable. We were taken up the mountain to pick mushrooms, tea in the ecological tea garden, and ancient tea trees in the primeval forest. We also encountered wild Ganoderma lucidum on the way.
Le: The Baixiang Temple in Zhanglang Ancient Village is particularly beautiful, and the thousand-year-old trees are particularly divine. I like the air, spring water, wild vegetables, ancient temples, sacred trees, and the simple and enthusiastic landlady here.
Accommodation: A quaint wooden house. When you open the window, you can see the unique scenery in the mountains in different weather conditions. The mountains shrouded in clouds and mist after the rain, the sunset glow over the mountains and plains after the sky clears, the lush forests, and the clear air.
