Special mention goes to Julia Xu, our concierge, who contacted me days in advance. She was incredibly attentive and thorough in understanding our needs, and her responses were remarkably prompt – it felt like she always had her phone in hand! Polite and patient, she made the first stop of our Hainan trip a delightful experience. It’s a wonderful hotel with wonderful staff; I’ll definitely stay here again on my next visit."

"Excellent! The environment is beautiful, and the room is spotless. The front desk staff are very welcoming and provide thoughtful service. Specifically, the lady at the front desk, Jinqiao, was incredibly attentive. I asked her about the washing machine usage while she was on duty, and knowing I had an early flight the next morning, she proactively helped me dry my clothes and delivered them to my room. The location is great, the service is top-notch, the room is spacious, and the bedding is very comfortable."

"This hotel is located right by Municipal Square, close to the city hall and government offices. It's about a 15-minute walk to Zaliang Street. It's a standard 3-star express hotel. I got a complimentary room upgrade to a spacious room. The free breakfast is a 28 CNY standard and includes yogurt. However, the power went out more than three times during the early morning and night. The curtains automatically opened and closed when the power cut out, which was quite alarming! When checking out, the front desk apologized, saying it was due to a municipal power supply issue. But since I could see lights in nearby buildings outside my window during the power outages, I suspect there might be a defect with the hotel's electrical equipment or facilities!"

"Probably the best hotel in Qionghai, and it's very new. The decor is beautiful and very stylish. The rooms have large balconies. Plenty of parking is available, along with EV charging stations. The front desk staff were very friendly and service-oriented. The swimming pool is lovely, but the only downside was the staff member working there (a tall, bespectacled attendant). He really needs more training. He looked grumpy the whole time, had a bad attitude, and was even hiding behind the lockers smoking."

The front desk staff were attentive and professional; check-in was efficient, and they thoughtfully informed me about the opening hours for the hot springs, breakfast, and pool, patiently answering all my questions. "This hotel is a hidden gem! They upgraded me to a sea-view suite, and I could watch the sunrise over the ocean right from my bed. You can even see the fishing boats from Tanmen harbor heading out one by one. I have to say, the most impressive thing was their incredibly thoughtful service. They proactively contacted me on WeChat to discuss check-in details and even gave me a heads-up about how to use the water heater. They even provided mosquito repellent and laundry detergent in the room! The bedding was clean and hygienic, and the towels and slippers were all vacuum-sealed. Truly a fantastic hotel!"

"The two-bedroom suite was perfect for our family of three. We added the butler on WeChat and they were very responsive. The hotel environment is great, and the soundproofing is good too, which allowed my elderly parents to sleep very comfortably. During the Spring Festival, breakfast was a bit crowded. I wanted to take it back to the room, but was told they don't offer a takeaway service, which I found a bit odd. Overall, I'm quite satisfied and it offers good value for money."

"During my National Day holiday trip to Qionghai, I chose to stay at a guesthouse. I saw that this place had great reviews online, so I booked it. I was pleasantly surprised by how great it was. Although it's not in the bustling city center, the environment is very nice. The owner is very kind and arranged for us to soak in the hot spring in the evening, which was really comfortable. We also had some agarwood leaf tea that she made herself. The room was very clean. I've been to many hotels, and they all have a musty smell as soon as you walk in. This place was very clean and had no odor. The blankets weren't damp either. I will definitely stay at this place again if I come to Guantang, Qionghai next time."

This trip compared several, and finally selected Qionghai Baolian City Hotel. The whole stay experience far exceeded my expectations. It is very suitable for people who want to take a slow-paced vacation and don't want to catch the trip. The whole hotel is a large garden-style resort area. The park is well planned, the vegetation is rich, the trees are shaded, the roads are clean and tidy, and the scenery is everywhere when strolling in the park. People will not be very noisy, there is no noise, and the atmosphere is particularly relaxed. You can walk to the beach, go to the beach in the evening, blow the sea breeze in the South China Sea, watch the sunset on the sea, and the atmosphere is directly full. The overall space of the sea view room type is very sufficient, the overall maintenance of the room is good, the lighting is very good, and the house is bright during the day. Health is done more carefully, the ground, bathroom, tabletop are cleaned up, the bedding is dry and soft, and there is no discomfort to live. I like the balcony of the room the most. I can face the sea view directly from the balcony. I have nothing to do. I have to move a chair and sit in a daze. I watch the ebb and flow of the tide, blow the sea breeze, drink tea and chat. The feeling of vacation is coming at once. The hotel staff are very friendly, the check-in and check-out process is smooth, there is a problem to find the front desk or the housekeeper, and the feedback processing speed is also OK. The park is fully furnished, and it is convenient to eat, live and travel daily, and you don't have to run far. Whether it is family travel, friends, or a person to relax and live alone, it is suitable. The overall living comfort is very high, the rest is very good, and there is a little reluctance when leaving. If you come to Qionghai Boao for a trip later, Baolian City will be my first choice for accommodation, and I really recommend it to friends who are pursuing a quiet holiday and want to see the sea view.

The black mold in the shower and on the curtains should be removed. The shower drained all over the bathroom. The blinds would not completely close. The balcony door would not close and lock. Great staff, our main door lock was fixed twice and very promptly, staff in the breakfast area were very helpful. But hot entres were cold as most left the lids open and it seemed there was no heat to keep items hot. Great plus to have a washing machine on the balcony!

The room was spacious, and it wasn't crowded during the Qingming Festival, so we got an upgrade to a high-floor sea-view room. The view from building A was decent, though a bit obstructed by the building in front. I reckon you could see the sunrise on a clear day. On the downside, there was a small bug on the floor, and the TV remote wasn't working. We had to call staff to fix both issues, which was a bit inconvenient. The desk wasn't wiped clean either; my child wanted to do some homework on it, but it was covered in dust. On the positive side, the price was reasonable, the staff were friendly and efficient in resolving issues, and their attitude was great. There's an outdoor pool, and the location is convenient. You can easily get to the main attractions by renting a small electric scooter. The food options nearby aren't great. We ended up eating糟粕粉饭 (zāopòfěn fàn) at the hotel restaurant, but the shrimp and shellfish weren't fresh.

Overall, the apartment is okay. The price is cheaper than the hotel. The location is also good. It's not far from the attractions. It's very convenient to drive by yourself. Environment: The environment is close to the seaside, and the environment in the community is also good. The sea view room you bought can indeed see the seaside beach. It will look better when the weather is good. Hygiene: Hygiene is relatively average. After all, it is an apartment style. The kitchen, curtains, and bathroom are all a bit shabby. Facilities: In terms of facilities, the apartment is still poor. There are no disposable slippers, no bottled water, no ironing machine, etc. It is a bit worse than the hotel. Service: In terms of service, there is no front desk or reception staff. The customer service will add WeChat to tell the room location and how to open the door yourself. Each has its own pros and cons. Overall acceptable. for reference.

The room was clean and spacious, with comfortable bedding and excellent hygiene! No carpets, so no musty smell, which is great for people with allergies. The hotel is right by the sea; its back door opens directly onto the coastal road, next to 'The Story of the Sea' – the most beautiful dining spot by the beach. We heard that even a former UN Secretary-General once dined there. Even at night, young couples were taking wedding photos on the beach. Walking west, you reach the mouth of the Wanquan River. Overall, though it's an older four-star hotel and the exterior looks a bit dated, the air is fresh, and it's very clean. The lobby even offers complimentary tea and bananas, which is a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious. In the evening, we went to the nearby Tanmen Town Fisherman's Wharf and bought live abalone, wild sea shrimp, mouse grouper, and scallops. We brought them back to the hotel, and the restaurant chef helped prepare them for a reasonable fee, which felt much safer than eating seafood at small outside eateries! The restaurant waitstaff, especially the aunties, provided superb service. They even kindly warned us when we ordered too many extra vegetables and soup, fearing we wouldn't finish them. In short, the hotel offers great value for money, and we extended our stay for two more nights! (Attached photos show the seaside scenery from the hotel's back door)
