Romantic Hotels in Athens

"The Hotel in general looks good and not bad, the location are close to the metro station but its to busy and might not be the best locations for families, there is some homeless around and some street are not that clean, I won't recommended you to take the standard room with no view, its too small and there is no sun light at all. The unit isolation to be honest is bad, you will properly hear every one step in the corridor or in other rooms. The breakfast is fine, but it does not worth the value."

"While the hotel isn't in the very heart of the city, it's just a 7-minute walk to the metro station. There's a large supermarket right downstairs, which makes shopping incredibly convenient. The breakfast spread was quite generous. The front desk staff were very friendly and proactive in offering assistance. Milan's metro system is excellent, and you can reach the city center in about 20 minutes. The surrounding neighborhood is also quite pleasant. Definitely recommended, it offers exceptional value for money!"

"This is definately not a 5 star hotel. I can’t understand how it’s been given that ranking. The room was definitely not the same as the picture. The carpet in the room was old and faded. The decor looked like it was from when it was first built or updated, at least 30+ years ago. The bathroom in the executive room was worse than Butlins basic accommodation in the U.K., and that’s saying something. The yellow sofa in the grand reception area was tired and dirty. I definitely would never stay there again or recommend to anybody. The majority of the staff were unfriendly. The waiters in the dining room never even looked at you. We had to go to them to request tea and coffee with our breakfast and it seemed like it was too much trouble for them. We stayed in the hotel as part of a fully inclusive cruise booking. The cruise company Iglu cruises must have got a really good deal with them. The hotel was full of people on fully inclusive deals. Definitely not five star. More like 2 star in my opinion."

"Stayed solo at the St George Lycabettus and loved it. The hilltop location is something else — stunning views over Athens day and night, and Kolonaki right on the doorstep for evening dining and drinks. Staff were warm and attentive throughout. The pool was a great daytime retreat from the heat. A characterful, well-positioned hotel that really gets the Athens atmosphere right."

"The hotel reception is spacious by Europe standards. Checkin was seamless however we had to pay for taxes at the time of checkin. Took a little while to work out the lift as the doors don’t open automatically. You had to manually open the front door to get into a reasonable small lift that catered for 2 people and 2 luggage. It reminded me of an old school type lifts seen in movies. Rather cool. Rooms looked newly renovated and modern. Pod Coffee machine with illy pods, desk, a single chair and a wall hung tv. With this said, we had a room facing the road and whether the windows didn’t close properly or the windows were very thin with no sound proofing, but the noise from the road was bad. We were on the 5th floor and every car that went by, we heard. The heavier vehicles were worse. Does not work especially if you are a light sleeper. Breakfast was average with comparison to many other hotels around the world however I would say quite sufficient by European standards. Precooked eggs, scrambled, boiled and sunny side up, basic cereal and fruit selection and bakery was a bit dry. Omelette made on order. Staff in restaurant were excellent and extremely helpful. Location was excellent for this hotel as it was walking distance from buses and train, restaurants and some markets. Communications with its reservations team was shocking. Even after 6 emails with regard to a future booking, I did not get a single reply. Eventually met the hotel manager and had the issue resolved so a big thanks to Ms. Maria. Overall, comfortable apart from the road noise. Would I book again, will not be my default hotel so I may be looking at other hotels but would not rule it out completely."

"A perfect hotel! The price is totally worth it for the facilities, breakfast, service, and especially the location. The rooftop restaurant offers a stunning, close-up view of the Acropolis – it's breathtaking! It's just a few hundred meters to the Old Town and only 600 meters to the commercial district, making it incredibly convenient."

"This hotel is great in every way, except for the parking which is a bit expensive and difficult to find. The rooms are spacious, the views are lovely, and the location is convenient with plenty of activity nearby."

"I’m picky about cleanliness. This hotel is perfect. It’s very clean n comfortable. The rooftop pool view was amazing! You can see the Acropolis from the rooftop. Wish I had come at a better time when it’s less cold n windy. I’m here in Feb 2026. George at the reception was very friendly n helpful. Overall, it was a good place to stay in Athens."

"lovely find in the leafy suburb of Kifissia. The pool area was beautifully kept and became my daily sanctuary from the Athens heat — never overcrowded and wonderfully peaceful. As a solo traveller, the friendly and attentive staff made all the difference, always on hand without hovering. Comfortable room, great location, easy metro access to the city. Would return without hesitation."

"The hotel's location is excellent; there's a bus stop right outside, and it's only about a 10-minute, two-stop ride to Syntagma Square. The cleanliness was good, and the hotel provided various toiletries and slippers, though there wasn't a toothbrush. For service, breakfast offered about ten different items, and the taste was decent. They had authentic Greek yogurt and freshly made coffee that was delicious. The biggest surprise was the bar on the top floor of the hotel, which offers stunning views of the Acropolis. It's a great spot to enjoy the scenery and order drinks."
