Romantic Hotels in Beppu

"First off, the hotel's location is excellent, right next to Beppu Station, making it super convenient to get around, and there are tons of dining options nearby. The hotel breakfast was one of the best I've had in Japan – very extensive. However, it can get crowded on weekends, so you might have to queue. In the evenings, they offer a complimentary bowl of soba noodles, which taste great, but again, be prepared for a potential wait. The onsen facilities are good. The private baths are always full and require queuing, but there are several public pools available, and the hygiene is fine. After a soak, you can enjoy free ice cream while taking in the night view. The room's cleanliness and amenities are satisfactory, though the window only opens a crack, and there's no real view to speak of. The hotel has a very high occupancy rate, with many Korean guests, so there's a good chance you'll encounter queues for everything during peak hours. Upon entering, you need to take off your shoes and store them at the entrance. Whether that's an inconvenience or a convenience is a matter of personal preference. Overall, the impression is good, and the Japanese staff's service attitude is impeccable. However, considering the price, I wouldn't say it offers exceptional value for money."

"The Grand Mercure Beppu Bay Resort offers spacious, clean rooms and excellent service, with staff who communicate well in English. The lounge is a highlight, providing complimentary snacks and drinks, including alcohol, though seating can be limited during busy times. Breakfast was average and could be improved, especially considering the price. The hotel’s location is a bit far from Beppu downtown, which may be inconvenient for those wanting frequent city access. Parking spaces are also limited, which can cause some difficulty if returning late at night. Despite these drawbacks, the overall stay was enjoyable, thanks to the comfortable rooms and attentive staff."

"The advantage is that it is located close to tourist facilities, so I made a reservation, but when I actually saw the entrance of the accommodation, it was so pretty that I took a picture first and then checked in. The staff were so kind that they explained everything in detail and also introduced me to nearby restaurants and convenient facilities ^^ After the explanation, I went to the room and it was really clean and spacious. And when I checked the private room, it was spacious and clean. You can adjust the temperature to your desired temperature. When I checked the bathroom and toilet, I saw that the hair dryer was Dyson. Since Japan is 110 volts, the wind speed is weak, but it was great to use the Dyson. And there was a small beverage facility next to the check-in area, so they provided unlimited beer and drinks. I had a really comfortable time. Next time I visit Beppu, I will definitely visit here."

"Very nice modern style ryokan nestled in the hills of Beppu. Rooms are very nice and big, with our private onsen bathroom. We opted for the dinner and breakfast, and they were both pretty good and tasty."

The hotel staff spoke good English and were very friendly. The environment was tranquil and clean, the hot springs were excellent, and the view from the room I booked was absolutely superb. If I have the chance to visit Beppu for a vacation again in the future, I will definitely return and will also recommend it to my friends."

"Absolutely a 5-star review! It's very close to the JR station. The guy at the front desk was incredibly thorough, helping with travel advice and even translating Chinese attractions into Japanese so I could find them on G-Maps. Breakfast was outstanding, with many ingredients sourced from Oita. The large public bath on the rooftop was also great, offering a fantastic viewing spot and an excellent place to watch the sunrise 🌅. Staying in Beppu this time and exploring nearby was definitely the right choice."

"The hotel is a group of small villas. Although it is in the city, there are rice fields in front of the door. There is a private hot spring and sauna room downstairs, indoors and outdoors. Upstairs is a double bed and two tatami beds. The tatami beds need to be made by yourself, and someone will put them away in the morning. The cleaning time is 11:00-15:00. According to the front desk, it takes several people to prepare for such a long time, so the hygiene is very good, and all bedding is changed every day. The only drawback is that the hotel does not provide meals and does not have a washing and drying machine. There is a microwave in the room, so it is convenient to buy food in advance and heat it up. To wash clothes, you need to go to coin laundry 200 meters away. It is a great hotel and I will go there again if I have the chance. The front desk is very good. I ask them to help call a car and book a restaurant every day."
