"The Baia Taormina has a warmth and a boutique feel about it even though it is a large hotel. The food was always fresh and the balcony where dinner was served is beautiful and has a stunning view of the sea and Taormina ( the serving staff were professional and friendly, especially the maitre’d. The pool was clean, quiet and the pool assistants were there to help settle you in each morning, providing you with fresh towels and arranging your sun loungers.The court yard in the evening is a lovely space to enjoy a cocktail and listen to pleasant music sung by a lovely Sicilian lady. The Bar staff (Fabio and Rosario) were attentive and only too happy to serve (always with a smile) we have had a lovely holiday."

"My wife & I have just returned from a week’s stay in Sicily on the East coast . We travelled to Catania , Cefalu , Noto & Taormina . By far our best stay was in the Hotel Rivage , Mazzeo , Taormina !! We stayed for 2 nights and liked it that much we decided to stay another night . From the moment we stepped in we were made most welcome from the front of house staff who were quite frankly so helpful and professional . The cleanliness of the hotel was top notch too . A special mention goes out to Elizabetta & Carlo in the breakfast dining area . Elizabetta is a wonderful person alongside Carlo . They made our mornings so nice to wake upto . The beach hotel restaurant was a great experience too . We will definitely be back in the near future as we would love to stay here again . So good job done by all & apologise to any staff I haven’t mentioned , from Room , 109/209"

The breakfast room is also excellent, bright and with a truly breathtaking view of Her Majesty Mount Etna, making waking up even more special. "The hotel is very good overall. It is very convenient to go to the main street from the garden. The rooftop is particularly good. When I went there, the weather was very good to see the Aitna volcano and the sea view. It was really super cool. The service staff was very nice. I saw that I arrived early and sent me an espresso coffee to see the scenery in the rooftop garden. With an empty room, I was allowed to stay early, thank you very much."

"We as a family of 4 had a fantastic experience of stay at Baia Taormina for a week during the Easter Break. As it was the beginning of the season, it was not so busy and the weather was beautiful and we were lucky in that regard. Flew into Catania Airport and hired a car to drive, and it takes about an hour to reach the hotel, which is perched on a hill with great views of the Bay. Without a car it would be difficult to go to different places but hotel shuttle is available to go to Taormina for a price. The quadruple room was very spacious and has a big balcony and the sea view was breathtaking. Sunrise is not to be missed. Staff are very nice and helpful - particularly Doriana and Stephania at the Reception. The restaurant was neat and has a nice view of the sea and later in the summer, outdoor dining would be available too. The restaurant staff are great too, and we were well served by Franco Randazzo (Maitre) and others including Laura, Samuele, Antonio to name a few. Food was great with plenty of variety. One suggestion would be that they name the individual dishes with a name card as we had to ask what they are and about the ingredients. Many beaches are nearby such as Malazzo, Letojanni, Giardini Naxos etc. A trip to Mount Etna is a must. "Godfather" movie locations in a couple of medieval villages nearby, if you are a movie buff. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed the stay, helped by great weather."

"The hotel is located at the very end of the main street. For those taking the bus up the mountain, you'll need to walk about 1.2 kilometers to reach the hotel. Although old, the common areas have been largely renovated and are well-maintained. The high ceilings make for a comfortable and pleasant experience, and the staff are friendly. I even had a room tour of my single room. The hotel's extra services are above four-star standards, including a spa, lunch, bar, and dinner (though I didn't try them). The guest area inside the room looked older, but it was spacious enough. It came with a small terrace with a sea view. The bathroom seemed renovated, and the fixtures were relatively new. The Western breakfast was standard, with smoothies available. (I was confused because it didn't include breakfast when booking, but I was told it was included when I checked in.) The hotel has a small garden with a beautiful pool at the end. By the way, the city tax is a bit steep, at 4 euros per person per night."

"The room has an unbeatable sea view, facing the sea with flowers blooming in spring, and you can also see the misty Mount Etna in the distance. The hotel is halfway up the mountain. It is a bit expensive to take a taxi from the train station to the mountain for 25 euros. Young people without large luggage can try hiking or taking the bus. The uncle at the front desk is very friendly. The sleeping bag left in the room by my companion was immediately delivered. I stayed for two nights. It is suitable for a daze vacation"

"The hotel has an exceptional location overlooking the Etna volcano, but high above Taormina. The road to the hotel is quite challenging, solid, but steep and very winding, going up ramps or the far edge of a steep hill. The hotel is beautiful, architecturally interesting, the receptionist a little haughty, a little shy, but once you put that aside and look out into the countryside, then it's OK. Breakfast could have been richer. The hotel is worth a visit and a stay."
