"Great location, with bars and massage places nearby, plus fruit stalls and all sorts of evening activities. Despite being right on a pedestrian street with lots of tourist foot traffic, my room was surprisingly quiet. There's no point booking more expensive hotels if you just need a place to sleep before exploring the island. In my opinion, for this price, it's FANTASTIC! Thanks!"

"Бюджетный отель, расположен сразу рядом с 2 7eleven, до моря идти 3-4 минуты по прямой. За цену которую я снимал (~1350 бат ночь, вместе с завтраком) в целом все приемлемо. Не понравилось что были грязные полотенца (в каких-то пятнах) и ободок туалета был просто ужасный (невероятно грязный, его даже отмыть не смогли, когда я попросил дополнительную уборку). Из плюсов приветливые сотрудники, хороший завтрак, все в номере работало исправно."

"Great place on.the water front. The room was a great size. The only thing that let it down was the bathroom and shower really needs attention. Also if you are a light sleeper the A/C unit is very noisy. Very central and easy going stay"

With a stay at Saikaew villa 65 in Rayong (Haad Sai Kaew), you'll be a 3-minute walk from Hat Sai Kaew Beach and 11 minutes by foot from Koh Samet Pier. This beach hotel is 0.1 mi (0.1 km) from Khao Laem Ya - Mu Ko Samet National Park. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite. Make yourself at home in one of the 40 air-conditioned rooms featuring refrigerators. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and cable programming is available for your entertainment. Bathrooms with showers are provided. Conveniences include complimentary bottled water, and housekeeping is provided daily.

"Saikaew Villa 65 is less than a 5 minute walk from the songthiaw drop off to get to the accommodation, after the 10 minute taxi ride from Ban Phe pier. We booked 3 Superior Twin rooms for family but the rooms were definitely not 'superior'. The rooms lacked any finesse, with a broken lampshade, gaps under the doors for mozzies to get in, a broken light in the bathroom and a leaking sink pipe, dodgy fridge connection and dead batteries in the aircon remote. The room itself was clean and the service for room cleaning was good, but the surrounding area around the rooms was dilapidated, with broken down storage buildings, remnants of building works and rubbish bags and cleaning equipment on display in the walkways each day. There was a definite lack of attention to detail. It was backpacker style but not with a backpacker price tag. I booked the rooms on a balcony, with a view of the courtyard garden, but there was nowhere to sit outside the room, no chairs provided, just small tables. The location is very good, a minute or so walk away from the beach. The attached restaurant, 'Joe's', was very efficiently run and the service there was excellent (thank you to the waiting staff, who were very friendly and helpful). For 60 baht for the day, a deckchair could be rented with an umbrella right on the sea front, and the restaurant staff provided towels for the deckchairs when asked. If you plan on spending little time in your rooms, and you don't mind the outside appearance of the accommodation, then Sai Kaew 65 is a great place to base yourself for all that Sai Kaew and Koh Samed has to offer."

"I stayed in room A104, on the lowest floor with direct pool access. Unfortunately, the headboard was right against the stairs, and the constant noise and vibrations from people going up and down were really disruptive. I ended up waking up early and going to bed late every day because of the stair noise."

"We were a large group and booked late, so there weren't many options available, and I didn't have high expectations for this hotel. However, the experience was still very poor. The hotel's check-in policy wasn't very clear; I couldn't figure out if children staying required an extra charge. So, we just booked five rooms for two nights. My room was on the second floor and had no hot water, so I had to shower in other rooms. Even then, the water in those rooms wasn't very stable, fluctuating between strong and weak, and hot and cold. The most troublesome issue was insect bites. There were ants on the bed. Although the staff sprayed insecticide during cleaning, I was still bitten quite badly. For someone like me, who suffers from papular urticaria, it was particularly annoying. Outside the hotel, there's a convenience store, restaurants, and motorbike rentals. There's also a slightly smaller beach nearby, and the environment is decent. Diamond Beach is about a 10-minute walk away. In the evenings, the bar outside was a bit noisy, which kept the elderly in our group from sleeping. Overall, young people with low expectations might consider it. But for families like ours, with seniors and children, you'd really need to weigh whether you can accept these shortcomings."

"If you’re looking for a place of relaxing, hearing the whispering of waves, focus in yourself, here is the place! Recommended! 🌟 I had a beautiful time here since my first step in till the day of step out. 🥰 welcoming with the white tea aroma had already impressed me. My room is a bit small for two but trust me! You don’t wanna stay in the room all day while the beautiful nature is calling outside. Apart from wonderful view right in front of my room, you can have your own moment of sunrise every morning, cozy and nice relaxing a whole day long, walking to see the sunset is less than 10mins. There is great service and the room keeps cleaning which they have never disturbed your staying. They serve nice breakfast here both international buffet and Thai style. This place might be far away from other happening restaurants in the busy beaches but their dishes are acceptable, Thai dishes are good taste, fresh pizza served right from the oven while drinks, cocktails 🍹are good here! Some missing in the menu but I think they hear it. 😉"

Amazing
YYKT MikhailGreat location, a small cozy hotel with friendly staff and a delicious breakfast; the soup was particularly enjoyable. They also offer free bicycles and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs). Direct access to two beaches is a huge plus. Even though it was off-season, we were pleasantly surprised by the weather. The sea was a bit wavy, but still swimmable. The beaches were clean, and the white sand crunched delightfully underfoot. You can even get a massage right on the beach. Act, the front desk manager, was incredibly welcoming and friendly, always ready to assist, and even saw us off to our taxi. I wish the hotel continued success. P.S. My only suggestion would be to refresh the beach towels.

CCooldayThe Samed Resorts group offers the guests a free boat shuttle service to Samed Island (even free car parking), which I find very convenient. The staff helped us loading the baggage to the boat and from the boat to the hotel. Ban Ploy sea is located right next to the pier with a few minutes walk. The check-in went smoothly. The staff was so helpful and friendly. He even offered me an upgrade room with the sea front view for 2 nights. The room was clean and comfy. At the back of the resort is a log house cafe, offering tasty cakes and fancy drinks. I feel really relaxed lying on a private beach. In the evening we were so lazy to go out, just had dinner at the hotel‘s restaurant every night. It was not cheap but everything was delicious. Overall, we are very satisfied. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserThe staff is really helpful and will go all the way to make you feel welcome. The facilities are great. I appreciated the calm and exclusivity of the beach. I had to change my room because they gave me a twin bed ( and I'm travelling alone ) but I noticed that both the bathroom had the same issue : The sink is not as clean as you'd like to. In my first room, whenever I showered all the bathroom is flooded because of the door or maybe the whole design of the showed. That being said, I've enjoyed my stay and would've stayed longer if I could. It's frankly a good hotel, and the food is really delicious.

AAnonymous UserI've stayed at this hotel three times. The first two times, I stayed in the Premier area. Last time, while walking around the hotel, I saw that the bungalows had great views, so this time I decided to stay in one. I specifically asked a Ctrip specialist to help communicate my preferred bungalow location, and the hotel said they would try their best to accommodate. When I arrived, the location they gave me was indeed good, the second row from the sea. Let's talk about the pros: 1. **Price**: It's the cheapest among all room types. 2. **Location**: Because I specifically requested a spot, the bungalow faced the sea directly. I could watch the sunrise and the ocean right from my bed. 3. **Photo opportunities**: The bungalow area is great for photos, with rocks by the sea, perfect for shallow swimming (be mindful of strong waves). Cons: 1. **Wildlife**: Geckos, ants, and mosquitoes – it's practically a wildlife sanctuary! Don't even think about keeping any food inside. If you do, ants will inevitably line up, and geckos will show up out of nowhere. 2. **Rooftop battles**: Every night, squirrels would fight on the roof, running around and brawling as if possessed, non-stop. 3. **Bird chorus**: With many large trees, birds rest there. When a strong gust of wind blows from the sea, the birds would start chirping for a while. 4. **Distance**: It's a bit far from the hotel's central area. If you're okay with these four points, then the bungalows are a good choice. Now, about the service and public facilities: The hotel's restaurant/bar is excellent. Every night there's a fire show and performances. Five nights a week there's a band, and the other two nights are singing. The prices at the bar are also good, not expensive, with a 10% service charge, which is standard in most Thai restaurants. Since this was my third stay, I didn't have high hopes for the service; it's hit or miss. Some staff are enthusiastic, others are not. On the first day of my stay, the shower water was quite cold, around 37-38 degrees Celsius. I called a staff member, and they found that the only way to deal with it was by reducing the water flow. So, I waited for the front desk to resolve it. Their final solution was to pre-reduce the water flow in the adjacent bungalow so the temperature would go up, and they asked me to switch rooms. I honestly couldn't be bothered to communicate with them further. This problem seems to be specific to the bungalow area; I never had this issue when I stayed in the Premier area. But they weren't very honest about it. One of the bar staff members was truly sullen. No smiles, fine. But when I went to the restroom, a foreigner next to me was locked inside and couldn't get out, calling out loudly for help. I quickly went to them for assistance. I mean, as a customer, I'm helping you solve a problem, right? But after he opened the door, he didn't apologize to the trapped foreigner, nor did he thank me.

BBushishanmuThe hotel is located right by the sea and boasts a very spacious private beach area. The accommodations are well-distributed across a large area, featuring numerous individual bungalows that truly capture an island resort vibe. While the rooms aren't overly spacious, they are very clean, and housekeeping is prompt. Breakfast is extensive and delicious. In the evenings, à la carte BBQ is available, and the beach hosts performances like 'Da Tie Hua' (molten iron fireworks).

NNhanBeamBeam9The room was beautiful and clean. I got a room next to the Kahe and Sai Kaew beach. The view was beautiful. The accommodation was between Buggy and Sai Kaew Beach Resort, and it was a short walk to a 7-Eleven. Breakfast was a set menu with options to order in advance. You can eat at the cafe or in your room. However, the staff at the cafe and other areas lacked service mind. They didn't smile and greet me. They were either sitting on their phones or chatting in groups. The water and toiletries were insufficient for the guests. The restaurant and cafe closed early, closing before 5 p.m. There was nothing available for drinks or food. The entrance was under renovation, but every time I walked past, the attentive receptionist would come out and tell the technician to stop and let me pass. Thank you. The air conditioning wasn't cool throughout the room, but overall, I liked the beautiful and complete interior design. The mattress on the large bed was too soft, causing back pain.

GGuest UserBooked Deluxe Grand Executive room for 131e/night for two people for four nights. COULD NOT GET TWO KEY CARDS FOR THE ROOM, RECEPTIONIST REFUSED THE REQUEST FOR SECOND 20 cent PLASTIC KEY!?!?!? NOT NORMAL SERVICE AND NOT PRACTICAL FOR TWO PEOPLE!!! ALSO THE BUILDING HAS NO ELEVATOR!!! Had to climb to third floor with luggages as bell boy was somewhere....also the actual room is in two levels i.e.: entrance and toilet downstairs, bedroom and living room upstairs. Outside balcony shower and bath tub had no privacy as shower is visible to the courtyard. Stayed 4 nights and 2 days water and electricity interruptions. Beach bar Happy Hour doesnt work traditional way: Ordered Kamikaze and Strawberry Margarita and tacos. Drank the first Buy 1 get 1 Free and ate the tacos. Waited for the second drinks for a while but then waitress brings us bill without asking it. Happy Hour had ended and we didnt get our second drinks but got invoiced for only one THB350 cocktail and tacos, so be aware of the Grand View Happy Hour practices and dont miss the ordering window like we did. 🤭 Daily issues with the restaurant card machine, cant pay with a CC. Clean and modern room, but poor service and not practical room with two levels and stairs.

MMaria Z. from Canada. If you are picky, need private beach and a big swimming pool - this hotel is not for you. It is a nice small hotel, with small pool, great breakfast. There are rooms that can fit 4 people. It’s a 20 second walk to the beach, you can rent a beach chair or lay on the towel. This hotel only servers breakfasts, there is no lunch or dinner, but you can always get good food at Samed Villa Restaurant. It’s a pleaser stay for several days, lots of greenery on this hotel property, it’s small but cozy.
