"The two-bedroom suite was perfect for our family of three adults. The room itself was spacious, bright, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The service was incredibly thoughtful! The dining table, which also served as a desk, was very practical. Having a Siemens washer-dryer combo, microwave, and a full set of tableware made our stay incredibly convenient. With a supermarket just downstairs where we could easily pick up laundry detergent, doing laundry daily was a breeze. The hotel's amenities, including the swimming pool, billiards room, and gym, were excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the delicious Japanese cuisine at the restaurant. The subway station is conveniently located right outside to the right, and a ten-minute walk straight ahead takes you to the scenic Donggang Fountain by the sea. Our few days of vacation here were truly relaxing and enjoyable. Dalian is a truly wonderful city, and the Donggang area is particularly pleasant. We'll definitely choose this hotel again for our next visit. Thank you!"

"An absolutely perfect stay. The InterContinental Dalian boasts luxurious, elegant, and grand facilities. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and inviting, offering breathtaking views of the East Port shipyard and the ocean. Its prime downtown location provides incredibly convenient access to subway and bus lines, and taxi rides around the city are also very affordable. It's just a short walk to the historic century-old buildings around Zhongshan Square. Check-in was a breeze, and the service was attentive and incredibly warm. A special thank you to DANA at the front desk for her excellent service. I also appreciate the doormen who always helped me with my bags from the taxi. Finally, kudos to the F&B department for the thoughtful gesture of delivering red date and pear soup to my room in the evening, which was a perfect way to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring. Dalian truly is a fantastic city!"

"Overall, I was very satisfied. The facilities are brand new and very close to Donggang. Our housekeeper, Eric, proactively upgraded our room and provided a birthday treat. It coincided with a concert and tourist rush, and Helen was also on hand to assist us. The corner suite we were given was spacious and had a great view, with a direct view of the Donggang Fountain and the water town buildings. At night, the crowds filled the air, and after a day of fun, it was a delight to be able to watch the fountain from the room without straining your legs. You can even walk to feed the seagulls every day. Compared to other scenic spots, this hotel is very convenient for transportation, with taxis and subways easily accessible. Zhenghuangqi and Xiding restaurants are only one stop away, and there's a shopping mall across the street, which is also very convenient. We later booked a Buick LaCrosse, and our kids are reluctant to leave. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit."

"**Facilities:** The facilities are comprehensive, and the room design is very well-thought-out. As someone who often works remotely, I truly appreciated having a comfortable desk. The walk-in closet is separate, and both the bathtub and all the toiletries were perfectly arranged and well-stocked. **Cleanliness:** Impeccable! There was absolutely nothing to fault regarding cleanliness. The bathtub, for example, was sparkling clean without a speck of dust, which made me feel completely at ease using it. I often get skin rashes quite quickly and severely when staying in some less-than-stellar hotels, so this place truly impressed me with its verified high hygiene standards. **Service:** What a bonus! There's a craft beer bar right downstairs. As a craft beer enthusiast, this was a massive win for me, especially since it was the renowned Paulaner bar I'd heard so much about. We returned quite late one evening and just made it in about an hour before closing. As it wasn't a public holiday, it wasn't crowded at all, but incredibly, the band still came out to perform just for our table! We absolutely adored that! A huge thank you to everyone for their incredible hospitality and kindness. (P.S. Remember to mention you're a hotel guest when you pay your bill – you can get a discount!)"

"The family room was quite spacious and well-stocked with many children's amenities. Immediately after check-in, a supervisor asked to connect on WeChat, offering direct contact for any issues. They did promptly address many of our concerns later, which was excellent service. However, the room always had a peculiar, indefinable smell – I couldn't quite place if it was dampness or something else. It was barely tolerable. One significant disappointment was that I chose this hotel primarily because their website advertised a children's playground. However, it turned out to be an affiliated indoor play area next door, not an on-site facility, and it required an additional charge. Moreover, for a five-star hotel, it was quite unbelievable to discover previous guests' hair in the bathtub. To their credit, the hotel's attitude in addressing this was very good. The children's pool was another major letdown; the water was full of white floating debris, making it quite visibly dirty."

"Novotel will be my top choice next time I visit Dalian! Absolutely fantastic! This was the most comfortable hotel I stayed at during my Dalian trip. For the first two days, unfamiliar with the city, I booked a highly-rated hotel online based on its location. To my dismay, it didn't even have blackout curtains, and I was woken up by sunlight shining on my bed past 5 AM. I decisively switched to Novotel, which, coincidentally, is located in the same building. I regret that Novotel wasn't a recommended option when I made my initial booking online. **Location:** Situated in the heart of Zhongshan District, it's near Dalian Times Square (luxury shopping) and very close to Zhongshan Square and the charming Nanshan Street. Its excellent location makes it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. A taxi to Xinghai Square only costs around 10-20 RMB. There are plenty of dining, entertainment, and leisure options in the vicinity. **Ambiance:** The hotel boasts a 'light luxury' design, which feels very comfortable and inviting. It's impeccably clean, fresh, and hygienic, with a complimentary fruit platter provided daily. **Facilities:** The facilities are comprehensive and include everything you'd expect. There's both a laundry room and a well-equipped gym. The on-site restaurant also serves a delicious breakfast! **Service:** The service is exceptionally warm and friendly, truly making you feel at home. The staff are polite and greet you every time they see you. Even the cleaning staff proactively offer a greeting with a smile. The only minor drawback is that it shares elevators with several other hotels, and there's no key card required to access floors directly, which could be a slight security concern."

"Because I had an early flight the next day, I chose this hotel; it was new and clean. The receptionist, Xiaotong, was very thoughtful and upgraded me to a twin room, combining the two beds to create a super king-size bed. The breakfast selection was quite extensive. After breakfast, I took the hotel's free shuttle to the airport, which only took a few minutes."

"## Wonderful Family Stay at The Castle Dalian We stayed as a family for four nights at The Castle Dalian and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our spacious and beautifully decorated room on the 12th floor offered stunning views of the sea, making our stay truly memorable. The hotel’s entrance lobby is impressively large and elegantly designed, creating a welcoming atmosphere right from the start. For families with children, there is a large play area available, which requires an additional fee. Fortunately, hotel guests receive a discounted rate. Outside, the hotel boasts a charming small park with fantastic views over the bay and lovely landscaping—perfect for a relaxing stroll. The hotel is situated on a small hill, so the walk back to the city center is a bit long. However, the free shuttle bus service is very convenient, providing easy transport down to the city and back. Our room was thoughtfully furnished and very spacious, including a large and well-equipped bathroom. One minor downside was that there was only one power outlet next to the bed (on one side only), and no USB ports for charging phones, which would have been a nice addition. Breakfast and other meals at the hotel were delicious, with a rich selection of both Chinese and Western dishes to choose from. The only area for improvement would be the cleanliness of the restrooms in the breakfast restaurant, which unfortunately were often untidy and in need of more frequent attention. The swimming pool, maintained at 27°C, was not ideal for small children as there is no separate kids’ section. Guests should also note that wearing a swim cap is mandatory. The pool area includes a mini Finnish sauna and a steam sauna integrated into the changing rooms. However, there are only loungers next to the pool, so the sauna experience was quite different from the relaxing sauna visits we are used to in Europe. Overall, The Castle Dalian offers a lovely stay with beautiful views, excellent food, and family-friendly amenities, making it a great choice for travelers visiting the area."

"We chose this hotel for its convenient location near the Shanmu and Zhenghuangqi dining areas. The lobby staff were very friendly; they proactively offered game tokens to our child when they saw him/her lingering near the claw machine, which made our child very happy. However, the cleanliness was truly disappointing. We arrived around 11 AM during peak season. Since our room wouldn't be ready until after 2 PM, we headed out to explore. That night, as I pulled back the duvet, something got on my hand. Upon closer inspection in the bathroom, it turned out to be a false eyelash. Further inspection of the bed revealed more remnants on the duvet cover. I called the front desk to request a duvet change, but was informed that due to full occupancy, they couldn't provide a spare duvet. It was only after I thoroughly explained the situation (pointing out multiple false eyelash remnants, not just one spot) that they agreed to change the duvet cover. The older male staff member who came to replace it was quite clumsy; the duvet cover was dragged on the floor multiple times, making for a rather poor experience. We stayed for two consecutive nights. On the second day, when the cleaning staff came, I noticed the room across the hall had just checked out and observed them emptying the trash bin directly into a large communal bin. Concerned about the hygiene, we subsequently declined daily room cleaning."

"The hotel clearly had a nice renovation at some point, and the rooms are very spacious. The sofa was a comfortable spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. A heated towel rail in the bathroom was a thoughtful touch, making it easy to dry clothes during our trip. However, the hotel itself feels quite dated. The lighting was dim, the air conditioning had an unpleasant odor, and the curtains were torn. On a positive note, the hotel staff were incredibly helpful. We had originally booked a twin room, but upon arrival, we found its window faced a wall of noisy air conditioning units from the adjacent building. When we informed the front desk, they were very accommodating; they came up to our floor and switched us to a king room without us having to go downstairs. Breakfast was also quite good. The hotel's location is superb, with many restaurants nearby, and it's within walking distance of Zhongshan Square. Taxis to any destination were also reasonably priced."
