Visit with  a pax of two. Pictures online show there should be a long sofa in the room for a huge party to sit but when we arrived in our room there was only one small sofa so the other person needed to sit on the floor. We then called the housekeeping and the guy bluntly said: ”Yes, your other pax needs to sit on the floor..” what a POLITE answer to a Ritz Carlton guest. We got enraged and approached the service manager and she claimed it's the NEW standard of the room .... 

Apart from this sofa incident, room is a little outdated. We got some nails and dirts as GIFTS from previous guest(s) before us. TWG teas downgraded to Twinings .... amenity kits reduced from shower caps, cotton buds, handcream etc into just shampoo and shower gels ... and they all look cheap.

The location and cleanliness are good. However, there is no universal power point in the room, which is something Ritz rooms normally provide. Housekeeping service provided after we requested it. It would be more convenient if these could be improved.

It was a great stay!
There were staff members who could speak Japanese, which was very reassuring.
I'd love to go to Jakarta to stay at this hotel again!

Gorgeous sea, sun cream right on the beach was convenient. The staff is very courteous - goes to the client's side, takes into account all wishes. Good tennis courts, but there was not enough information on how to book them in the public domain.

Neat, comfortable, safe, excellent location

Staying at the Ritz-Carlton Shanghai Pudong with my family and elderly parents this time truly maximized our 'vacation happiness'! The hotel's location is absolutely stunning. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, you can admire Lujiazui's dazzling skyline. By day, the Oriental Pearl Tower and the financial district complement each other; by night, leaning against the railing, you can take in the glittering splendor of the Huangpu River. My parents took so many photos of the view, repeatedly saying, 'This view is unforgettable for a lifetime.'

The service was incredibly heartwarming and attentive to every detail. From the doorman promptly taking our luggage when we arrived, to the front desk quickly processing our check-in and patiently explaining the facilities, and even room service helping us with our takeout – the entire experience was thoughtful yet unobtrusive, perfectly catering to the needs of a family trip. I especially want to praise the Executive Lounge – the thoughtful provision of five meals a day was ideal for families! The breakfast was the best I've had at any hotel, and the exquisite desserts at afternoon tea, along with the hot dishes and drinks at dinner, made my parents comfortable and saved us the hassle of searching for restaurants everywhere. It was truly excellent value for money.

The room amenities also exuded quality. The bedding was so soft that you'd want to fall asleep as soon as you touched it. The double vanity in the bathroom meant my family could get ready without feeling crowded, and the view outside transformed the room into a 'viewing platform.' This staycation was fantastic. Thanks to Lydia for her service and the little gift.

This is my second Ritz-Carlton stay, specifically the Portman Ritz-Carlton, which is arguably one of Shanghai's oldest luxury hotels.

**Amenities:** As expected, the hotel's facilities have a very classic feel. However, this doesn't mean they're outdated; on the contrary, the living experience was very comfortable. The air conditioning temperature and mattress comfort were excellent, and the room was impeccably clean. Even the bathroom and detailed corners of the hotel were spotless.

**Service:** The service truly reflects the Ritz-Carlton's quality. Every staff member I encountered throughout the hotel greeted me warmly and offered assistance, making me feel incredibly well-cared for during my stay. The front desk staff, in particular, were very meticulous and thoughtful in their customer care.

The breakfast, as many online reviews attest, was incredibly varied, with every item meeting a high standard of culinary satisfaction. Overall, my experience met the standards of a luxury hotel, and the service even exceeded my expectations.
