"The location is fantastic, right outside the Central Avenue subway station (pictured in Figure 3). The staff are incredibly friendly; on Winter Solstice, they invited everyone to eat dumplings together, and you could even join in making them, which was really heartwarming. The dumplings 🥟 were delicious!"

"Within walking distance to several attractions. Close to bus stops, making it easy to reach various attractions by bus. There are several ways to get to the accommodation from the airport, for example: You can take Airport Bus Line 3 and get off at Central Avenue Station, though it's a bit of a walk from there. Alternatively, you can take the Airport Express train to the city center and then take a taxi. You could also take an airport bus, transfer to the subway, and then walk the rest of the way, among other options."

"I am not a person who likes to write reviews. But for this stay, I had only satisfaction. This place is superb, especially for certain people like Malaysians because the washroom is equipped with a water pipe 😆😆.. I love traveling to China but the only thing I mind with was the toilet. And here fully solved what I am worried about. Beside, the location is super strategic. Located near the famous walking street and a few meters away from the morning market. The actual environment compared to the official photos was an 85% match. The only disadvantage is the need to climb up to the 4th floor, but you can contact the in charge to help with luggage carry. I will definitely pay a second visit."

"The hotel has a very convenient location, within walking distance of Subway Line 3 (Friendship Palace Hotel Exit 2), Zhongyang Street (Central Avenue), the Morning Market, Songhua River, St. Sophia Cathedral, and Manhattan Mall. The area is surrounded by many restaurants and convenience stores, making it easy to find food and daily necessities. The lady owner speaks English very well and is very responsive, kind, and sweet. She even surprised me with a cake for my birthday. The staff are helpful and welcoming, and they invited us to a Christmas Eve party with free food, which made our stay extra special. The room is quiet and spacious, with free bottled water provided daily. What I liked the most was the large window, perfect for people-watching and enjoying the view of cars passing by 😆. Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant stay. 💕"

"The room offers great value for money, and there's a washing machine available. After washing my clothes and hanging them outside, the owner turned on the heater, and they dried overnight. The owner is also very kind; they helped me with my luggage, and even carried it upstairs for me when I left to catch my ride. I'll definitely stay here again if I get the chance to visit Harbin. It's really excellent, located right on Central Street, which makes shopping super convenient. Getting anywhere is easy; taxis to the subway and the airport shuttle are all very close. Basically, the transportation is very convenient. My flight back was at 7:00 AM, so I woke up at 3:30 AM, took a taxi to the airport shuttle stop, and caught the first bus. I arrived at the airport just in time for check-in and security."

"Before coming to Harbin, I was most worried about accommodation, but this hostel turned out to be absolutely amazing! The location is incredible; it's just a 5-minute walk to Central Avenue, and after visiting the Ice and Snow World at night, there are direct buses and subways back. As soon as you enter, it's warm. The lobby even has a traditional Northeast 'kang table.' In the evenings, sitting around with friends from all over, snacking on sunflower seeds, sharing travel stories, and listening to the owner recount tales of Laodaowai – you instantly feel the warmth and hospitality of the Northeastern people! The rooms have solid wood bunk beds, and the quilts are thick enough, so you don't have to worry about being cold indoors. The only downside is that it's a bit dry inside; maybe a basin of water could be placed in the room."

"The location of the hotel is so convinient, it's close to grocery stores, restaurants, mosques and morning markets and many more. The staff is very helpfull, the environment in here is so warm. I like my stay in here."

"Indeed the hostel is very clean and is within walking distance to Harbin Railway Station. There are many eateries around. And the morning street market is also nearby. You have to bring your own towel and toiletries. Toothbrush and toothpaste are provided. The bedsheets are provided but you have to make your own bed."

"Here's a revised version of your review: We are from Malaysia, and we coincidentally found this hotel after we failed to book a train to Harbin City. Fortunately, we found hard seating available to Harbinxi, which led to our journey here. The family room in this hostel is very spacious, and the private bathroom is large with solid concrete walls, unlike many budget hostels that use tempered glass partitions. The location is convenient, just a 9-minute walk to the station and several large shopping centers. To access other popular areas, you can take the subway for just 4 Yuan per person per trip. This hostel is run by a couple who are very nice and helpful. We felt very welcomed; the lady owner, Mdm Wong, even told us, ”If you get bullied by anyone in Harbin, call me. I will protect you.” 😀 Lastly, there's a gray cat in the hostel that our kids loved. She enjoys being petted a lot. The only thing I would like to mention is that some hidden areas, like under the bed and curtains, are dusty. I hope the owner can address this."

"A magical youth hostel, a place you won't want to leave once you check in. Let's start with the stay: the environment is exceptionally clean and safe, the facilities are warm, and the decor is artistic! As the owner said, this isn't just a place to sleep. It's a cultural community! I was lucky enough to catch one of their regular events. I had no idea Maodong Youth Hostel had such extensive resources, inviting renowned intangible cultural heritage teachers! One after another, vivid intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, bursts of hearty laughter, and I was ultimately moved by the spirit of craftsmanship, traditional techniques, and meticulous use of ordinary materials. Thank you, Maodong! You've truly made me understand the greatness of intangible cultural heritage! I'm astounded by the Chinese people's pursuit of excellence! The owner and teachers' final words were even more profound! They are truly working hard to contribute, in a small way, to national culture and the cultural tourism of Longjiang. But I find this truly remarkable!"
