"The atmosphere here is great, filled with young people from all corners of the world. It's a bunk bed dorm with curtains for privacy. Inside, there's a charging port and a small shelf for your belongings, plus two hooks. When you check in, you'll need to make your own bed with the provided sheets, duvet cover, and pillowcase, and return them to the front desk when you leave. The location is excellent, right on Central Avenue, just a short walk to the subway station, and there's a convenience store nearby. Meals are prepared in the communal kitchen. The room itself is relatively quiet.
However, there are activities in the common area as late as 11 PM, and if your dorm mates don't close the door properly, it can get quite noisy. If you're an early sleeper or concerned about getting a good night's rest, you should definitely keep this in mind."

Let's start with the stay: the environment is exceptionally clean and safe, the facilities are warm, and the decor is artistic!
As the owner said, this isn't just a place to sleep. It's a cultural community! I was lucky enough to catch one of their regular events.
I had no idea Maodong Youth Hostel had such extensive resources, inviting renowned intangible cultural heritage teachers!
One after another, vivid intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, bursts of hearty laughter, and I was ultimately moved by the spirit of craftsmanship, traditional techniques, and meticulous use of ordinary materials.
Thank you, Maodong! You've truly made me understand the greatness of intangible cultural heritage! I'm astounded by the Chinese people's pursuit of excellence! The owner and teachers' final words were even more profound! They are truly working hard to contribute, in a small way, to national culture and the cultural tourism of Longjiang. "It's been years since I last stayed in a hostel. This time, traveling solo, I specifically chose a hostel to find fellow travelers, and it really helped a lot! I found someone to go to Hulunbuir with, and we had a fantastic time.
The hostel was very clean, and the 8-bed dorm had an en-suite bathroom. I arrived in the middle of the night, so to avoid disturbing the sleeping occupants, I used the communal showers.
However, I didn't expect to have to make my own bed with sheets and duvet cover, especially on the top bunk. I ended up sweating again after my shower from the effort! It was impossible to stand upright on the top bunk, making putting on the duvet cover incredibly difficult.
The common areas were well-equipped. Overall, it was great, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Harbin."

"The accommodation is conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from Friendship Palace Hotel metro station. The entrance is through a restaurant, which is very easy to find. The host speaks English well and was incredibly helpful with everything we needed.
We had to check out at 5 AM, and there were no staff available at that hour, but the host went out of their way to assist us and even provided great recommendations for places to visit. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and truly appreciated the hospitality! [ P.S. It’s a pity that I forgot to take pictures of the room, but I did capture a photo of the metro station right across from the accommodation.]"

"This youth hostel is just the best youth hostel I have ever been to. The people are really nice, friendly and can speak english. This is a must place in Harbin. It's a lot of fun for kids and adults to be able to be creative, cook, and play music or sing on the stage. We made a pen out of wood, and made some baozi. I recommend it for people who want to have fun and make some new friends. We have great souvenirs of this place and hope to be able to come back soon.

"Friends who come to travel alone can come and experience it. I just arrived early, and the landlord arranged an early check-in for me, so that my tired body and mind can get a rest. If you want to travel, the landlord will also enthusiastically provide tour routes. This place is relatively close to Central Street and St. Sophia Cathedral. There is a direct bus downstairs, and it takes about ten minutes by taxi. It is recommended to form a group to go to the Ice and Snow World in winter. I came here in autumn and have no say. I will comment next time. When I am free, I will also organize a reunion or go there to exercise and relax. The network is also very fast. The landlord is a very clean person. You can also meet different friends here. Overall, it gives people a good feeling."

"Highly recommended! Super convenient location, right by the subway exit. What's most important is how friendly and helpful the owner and staff are; they answer every question you have. Here, you get to meet many interesting friends from China and abroad, sharing meals and conversations. It's full of human warmth and the atmosphere is fantastic, completely different from a typical hotel stay. XingSu is definitely my top choice for any future trips to Harbin!"

IIBRAHIM إِبۡرَاهِيمَ 依布拉欣If you're planning to visit the Harbin Ice and Snow World, remember to purchase spikes at the counter (8 YUAN). It's affordable and can prevent falls and injuries. Unfortunately, I slipped on the ice and badly hurt my ankle. Luckily, there's a nearby hospital, Harbin Shengfeng Hospital, just a 10-15 minute walk away (you can use Google Maps). The doctors there are helpful, but they don't speak English, so bring your passport and use Google Translate if needed.
On a brighter note, I really enjoyed staying at this hostel. They have a large mirror and a hot water station where you can prepare instant noodles. Although they don't have a kitchen, you can easily get utensils and a mug from nearby convenience stores, especially if you're planning to make coffee.
One thing I found really convenient was the international charger ports provided for each bed. Before checking out, remember to strip your bed and leave a note in the lobby to indicate your presence. I left a Malaysian flag as my mark.

The facilities are very general and the public room is very inconvenient to take a bath. Health is average. The room is small and the sound insulation is poor. Suitable for catching the train will be overnight. Consider carefully for those who have requirements for the environment or girls.

We are from Malaysia, and we coincidentally found this hotel after we failed to book a train to Harbin City. Fortunately, we found hard seating available to Harbinxi, which led to our journey here.
The family room in this hostel is very spacious, and the private bathroom is large with solid concrete walls, unlike many budget hostels that use tempered glass partitions.
The location is convenient, just a 9-minute walk to the station and several large shopping centers. To access other popular areas, you can take the subway for just 4 Yuan per person per trip.
This hostel is run by a couple who are very nice and helpful. We felt very welcomed; the lady owner, Mdm Wong, even told us, ”If you get bullied by anyone in Harbin, call me. I will protect you.” 😀 Lastly, there's a gray cat in the hostel that our kids loved. She enjoys being petted a lot.
The only thing I would like to mention is that some hidden areas, like under the bed and curtains, are dusty. I hope the owner can address this.

The transportation is very convenient. You need to bring toiletries and slippers in advance. The prices in the supermarkets near the hotel are also low, which is OK. After checking in, I went shopping to buy some. I bought a toothbrush and toothpaste for 5 yuan in total. There are great barbecues around and the price is affordable. If you come by yourself or with your best friends, this is a good choice~
