"10/10 for location, cleanliness of the rooms, good pool with view, organised restaurant, good linens and towels and good interior. The flavoured yoghurt on the breakfast is good, put many pumpkin seeds on it 👌😋 Suggestion: a grommet hole in the ledge of the bar where the kettle is will be very good to add so you can just slip the power cord to reach the power outlet. To improve: Staff should be welcoming, cheerful and warm to elevate the guest experience. Note: the information on the TV says breakfast starts at 6:30am but they actually start at 7am."

"We stayed here for 9 nights and overall it’s not great but it’s bearable. The room was damp and had some mold issues but it’s resolved quickly when we raised it. However it still got pretty damp towards the end probably because there’s no windows for ventilation. It’s really not very clean, found hair and stains on the bed and the floor and surfaces don’t seem freshly clean when we just moved in. Room service only happened once (excluding the time they came and fix the mold issues) in the 9 day stay so that’s not ideal but still, tolerable. The lack of windows really affects people a lot more than you’d think though, you completely lose track of time in there and it kinda messes with your body clock. There were water splashing from the air con when we turned it on but the water stops dripping after a while. Location wise, quite some food choices within walking distance and quite a few bus stops, however a 15min walk from closest MRT station (Novena) so transport link isn’t really that great, however there are a few buses that goes to town so it’s bearable really. TLDR: Not very clean, damp with potential mold issues but bearable."

"The room was very spacious and well-designed, featuring a double vanity in the bathroom and a separate sink in the toilet area. The balcony offered a fantastic view. It's just a few minutes' walk from Orchard Road to ION. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay. You can even see the Edison Hotel directly across from our building."

"The hotel is located in a relatively lively area with plenty of places to explore nearby. However, getting to the subway isn't very convenient. Also, if your room is facing the road after check-in, I'd suggest asking for a change, as the soundproofing of the windows is really not up to par."

"The hotel's surroundings are very convenient. It's close to the subway station, and Kampong Glam is right next door. There are plenty of places to eat and stroll around nearby. For the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, it was quite a good hotel."

"This hotel is a peaceful retreat in the bustling city center, with a vintage-style lobby. The room itself is indeed on the smaller side, but the bathroom is quite spacious and well-equipped. I highly recommend the hotel's breakfast buffet; it offers a wide variety of options including Chinese, Indian, and Western dishes, all delicious and great value for money. A special shout-out to the handsome front desk staff member who spoke Chinese – he was incredibly warm and patient, which made our check-in experience even more pleasant!"

"I booked a superior room with bakcony for 1 day and through another company the same type of room for next 4 nights! The night shift receptionist was really rude and told me for the 1st day i booked a superior room with balcony but the other 4 not! He also told that i did not understand what i booked!!!!!! After circa 10 minutes of arguments i told him we will see what is wrong or right next day!!! Next day i just presented my booking and the day shift receptionist was soooo kind and he said that i can be in a room with bigger balcony !!! So the management has 1. To check all the web-partners and to give the same names of the room types 2. The room type description has to be in all papers of the booker 3. Some receptionists are really rude and terrorize the guests!!!!"

"The hotel's location is very convenient, just 10 meters downstairs from the Zhongshan Mall, and the hotel even has a direct entrance connecting to the mall. Check-in and check-out were very efficient. It's also easy to get to the city center from here, as the hotel provides a shuttle bus to Novena MRT station, making it convenient to go anywhere in Singapore. The hotel breakfast food was decent; I recommend the Laksa noodles in the morning, they were quite good."

"I appreciate the location and the fact that basic amenities like room slippers and dental kits are provided. You also use an app for check in/out with a digital key provided in the app which is rather convenient. However, I did not enjoy my stay here. The room is not exactly the cleanest because there were stains on the bedsheets. I don’t think the sheets were replaced before we checked in. Also the walls at this place are EXTREMELY thin. If you are a light sleeper like me, you will not have a good sleep because there will be a lot of noises outside. When I was there the noises started at around 6am and lasted for about an hour which disturbed my sleep greatly. This place is for those who are just looking for a convenient place to stay and doesn’t mind getting your sleep disturbed in the morning."

"Stayed at Mama Shelter Singapore on Orchard Road and had such a fun stay! We arrived early after dragging big luggage from the MRT in Singapore’s heat, so getting an early check-in from Pang, the lovely Thai front desk staff, was such a relief. She made a very good first impression and was super warm and welcoming. The hotel looks exactly like the photos online — stylish boutique vibes, cool air-conditioning, trendy lobby space, and a lively atmosphere. The restaurant downstairs also looked really interesting. Pang told us it’s a French restaurant offering a promotional burger + caviar set for just SGD39! We already had plans so didn’t get to try it, but the evening ambiance, music, and crowd looked so tempting, fun, and lively 😂🤣 All the staff we met were friendly, helpful, and approachable throughout the stay. The room felt new, comfortable, and cozy with strong water pressure and great air-conditioning. One small thing though — the dark-toned design and halogen lighting make dust very visible, so I think housekeeping will need to work hard to keep everything spotless 😅 Location-wise, it’s very convenient. The hotel has its own parking lot and it’s within walking distance to Orchard Road, making it easy to hop on buses or explore around. Very close to Somerset MRT Station too. Right opposite the hotel you can find local breakfast spots like Killiney Kopitiam and several other local eateries. Personally, I tried Fook Kin just across the road — their char siu roast pork rice and shrimp wonton noodle soup were so good! You can choose mee kia (thin noodles) or mee pok (thicker noodles). The Malaysian male server there was also very friendly. Another thing we really appreciated was the late check-out arrangement. Since our flight was after 8 PM, we asked if we could keep one room longer and the hotel kindly granted us a late check-out until 2 PM. We actually left around 1 PM+, and it helped us so much. After long walks around New Bahru, buses around the city, exploring Fort Canning Park, and walking nonstop under Singapore’s scorching heat and humidity this week 😅😅, being able to return for a proper shower and short rest before heading to the airport made a huge difference. Overall, a very enjoyable and lively stay in Singapore. Would definitely come back again!"
