"This hotel was fantastic! I really appreciate that they were able to accommodate my request for a room with an openable window, and they even upgraded me to ensure a better experience. I'm especially grateful because my English isn't great, and while the front desk staff couldn't speak Chinese, they took the time to read my translations and made a real effort to communicate with me. Their patience was truly commendable. As a solo female traveler, I admit I was a bit nervous, but from the moment I entered the lobby, I felt a sense of cleanliness and warmth. What made me feel most secure was that after 9 or 11 PM (I can't quite remember), the main entrance downstairs required a room key card for access, and you also needed your key card to access the floor. This provided a great sense of safety. The room itself was excellent – clean, with new facilities, and very well decorated. The only minor drawback was that the window glass seemed a bit thin, allowing some street noise, but overall, I was very satisfied. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious. Since dining options are a bit spread out in Sydney, it was incredibly convenient and satisfying to enjoy a hearty breakfast on the first floor of the hotel before starting my day of sightseeing. The overall security was great, and it was excellent value for money. Plus, it's very close to nearby attractions; whether by subway or on foot, you can easily experience the beauty of Sydney."

"The service was quite good; I was able to check in early, and my luggage was already in the room. I booked a full harbor view, but I didn't receive any vouchers, even though I saw many other guests getting them. Also, the room cleaning schedule was a bit odd. They came in the afternoon, right when I was in the room, so I told them it wasn't needed. They still insisted on coming back in ten minutes, which was a bit funny. Regarding the deposit, I'm not sure if it's been refunded yet, but it's not on this statement, so it might have been."

"The hotel is very conveniently located within the Sydney city centre, and is accessible via the Museum metro station (5 mins walk) or the Chinatown light rail system (3 mins walk). The room was spacious and well maintained, and was great for solo travellers, or even as a couple or small families. The beds were comfortable and there was more than enough room space for multiple luggages. Slight downside to the bathroom which was a bit small, but it may not be an issue if you’re staying solo. Some water also leaked out of the shower box, which led to a small mess with each use. The heater for the room can only be adjusted by calling the reception desk, which I found slightly troublesome. Nonetheless, it was a very pleasant stay at Ibis! Housekeeping was conducted daily and done well. The Ibis staff were friendly and accommodating to my enquiries. I will rebook if I have the chance :)"

"The location is excellent! The light rail station is just a 5-minute walk away, and Darling Harbour is also within walking distance. It was very convenient to enjoy the Vivid Sydney light displays every evening during our stay. The room was also very spacious, providing plenty of comfort for our family of four."

"This time, I booked the apartment with a meeting room for a company meeting that coincided with my birthday. The kitchen is quite spacious, large enough to accommodate 20 people for a birthday celebration, which was great. There's also a balcony with fantastic views."

"Service: It was okay. I was changing hotels, so I dropped off my luggage early in the morning, and the front desk staff was really enthusiastic. However, for the two nights I actually stayed, the service I encountered was pretty standard. Facilities: The hotel definitely shows its age. The showerhead is a rainfall type, but the faucet doesn't close tightly, so it dripped all night long, which was quite noisy. The shower floor is plastic and very slippery – it feels like you could easily fall. Harbour View Room: I booked this hotel specifically for the view, but the windows don't open, and there's no balcony. Looking through the glass at night, you really can't see much, which was a big disappointment for me. Overall: This is a chain hotel with a lot of guests, so it must have other reasons for people to stay. But if I had to choose again, I probably wouldn't pick this one."

"Wonderful family trip staying at the Darling at the Star! Location is good, very close to Fish Market, nice atmosphere with cozy cafes & restaurants at close vicinity (and a large Coles too!) Stunning view of the Darling Harbour. Room is neat & spacious. Staff were extremely helpful, especially credits to a Front Desk Staff named Tristan settling my room arrangement & bill issue very efficiently. Highly recommend this hotel!"

"The hotel is located in Darling Harbour, just a 5-minute walk from the aquarium, zoo, and Madame Tussauds. The room clearly shows its age, but the unparalleled balcony view makes up for it, and it's spotlessly clean. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but there are plenty of fruit and bread options, fresh juice, and a good variety of coffee. The staff are very friendly and engaging! **Highlights 🤩**: There's a water and ice dispenser on every floor, available 24/7. We didn't need to buy any water during our stay, and you can choose between water, half ice, or full ice 🧊. **Pros**: Excellent location, incredible ocean views, and the service quality of a seasoned five-star hotel is definitely still present. **Cons**: The room facilities are a bit dated, and the soundproofing isn't great. It really depends on your personal preferences."
