"The location was super, right in the center and only a 30-minute walk to the Opera House. However, the people there tend to stick to their own groups, and it's really hard to strike up a conversation, so it's not ideal for solo travelers. The kitchen was okay, adequately equipped. Unfortunately, the rooms didn't have curtains on the beds (which were very shaky), and there are only lockers that you have to pay for. They don't explain much to you; you have to figure out where everything is and how it works yourself (for example, that you need to bring an extra cooler bag with a zipper)... If you can, try not to get a room facing outwards – there's so much noise all night long that even earplugs won't help. So, overall, it's pretty mediocre. The location is good if you're out and about all day anyway and just need a place to sleep."

"The bed was super comfy and good linen for a backpackers. Staff were super friendly and there was a large common area with a table tennis table which was great. Bathrooms are a bit old but kept as clean as they can be. Overall enjoyed my stay and would return. Good value for money and great location in the middle of the city."

Each floor had two toilets and two showers, but 1 of the toilets on my floor was spoilt. There is only 1 elevator for the whole building meaning that sometimes I had to wait fairly long to go up / down. The only charging ports were in the lockers, which made it inconvenient to use my phone.
Don’t get me wrong, this hostel does do the basics unapologetically, but if you have budget I’d recommend paying more for a better hostels."

"Cospa is the best. When you make a reservation and pay, you will instruct you to do it in advance. There is a color 々, but if you do as it says, there is no particular problem. If you have any questions, you can feel free to inquire via chat. It's simple, but I'm happy with the breakfast and dinner service. The staff is not resident, so the impression of your stay changes depending on other guests, and it may be a little stressful when you have trouble."

"This is my first time at the original backpacker.
Answer my phone call when I was late check-in, the guy was very polite.
Reception - very friendly and helpful show me around.
Location - convenience at King Cross with 2 supermarkets, food shop, shopping centre.
Friendly roommates with all women.
Other backpackers are very respectful. No noise after midnight.

"Bondi Beach is within walking distance.
The staff was friendly when I checked in and friendly when I checked out.
The room is about the average you would expect from a hostel, and there is a power outlet and a USB charging port, but the direction of the outlet is not good, so it may not work depending on the shape of the electrical outlet.
That was me...
However, there are two USB A type ports, so although it was not fast charging, I was able to charge my phone without any problems.
As with any hostel, the experience of the room depends a lot on the personalities of the people sharing the room. In my case, I stayed in a mixed room for 6 people with 5 people when I checked in and 4 people on the second day, and I stayed with good people without any major inconveniences.
The bathroom and shower are separated, and the shower is a bit small, but it was not too inconvenient, and the hot water came out well, which was nice.
The hot water did not come out immediately after turning it on, but if it had been a while since I used it, I had to turn it on for about a minute and the hot water came out right away.
The bathroom was clean and tidy with a toilet seat, so it was okay.
It was a bit difficult for me, who has an extreme MBTI I tendency and is not good at English, but it was fun because it was a chance to talk to foreign friends even a little.
I think people who are MBTI E or can speak English well will have a really fun time."

GGuest UserCheck in was great I went out for dinner and when I returned I opened the door to find the complete window frame and window smashed and my belongings scattered everywhere. I raced down to reception to advise the person on the front desk only to be told that there had been a 3 hour blackout at the motel and they were sorry 😡
I had to prompt the receptionist to give me another room which he did then he came up took a look and said let me know if anything is missing & walked away, do I started collecting my things only to find that my TAG heuer watch had been stolen so I lived into room 101 from 107 couldn’t sleep thinking I was going to get burgled the second time. Upon checking out I advised a different receptionist that my watch had been stolen he said we are very sorry but I will talk to management to see what we can offer you that was at 10am this morning and haven’t heard a word from the motel management 🤷♂️ absolutely disgusted

The hotel is above the pub, which is also very busy in the afternoon.
There is also live music there on Sundays until around 9 p.m.
Everything is perfectly fine, unless you have room 10 next to the washing machine/dryer and sleep next to the ventilation. Even though drying and washing is not allowed after 9 p.m., it was very annoying.
The hotel rooms face the back, so in the morning you also have the noise from the loading area of the supermarket.
On the positive side, the room was in a modern condition and the staff were all very nice.
The beach is a ten-minute walk away.

VVicki HughesOverall a good 3 night stay at the Hermitage. Large spacious room, fairly comfortable bed/bedding. Don’t know about aircon/heating as it was not used during our stay.
Unfortunately it is not shown in the online pictures that the hotel is surrounded by commercial facilities on 3 sides and a highway on the 4th.
Great to have a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities as well as a toaster (as breakfast is not offered at the hotel). Unfortunately, though you can cook toast there were no plates or knives supplied to put any butter or spreads on it.
The restaurant meal was great, service was really good, wine list small (inexpensive) but fine.
The whole experience was let down by our final night when we ordered in-house meals from the restaurant at 7.30 and when we called at 9pm to enquire how much longer they would be we were informed our order had been lost. Went to sleep hungry. Attitude over this issue was abysmal.

TTerrenceHoeVery clean room with a big kingsize bed for me one tourist to sleep on is such a comfort in Sydney.
Love the tv and tv programs especially project on Channel 10.
The french lady in the office is helpful and will assist you in everything and the cleaners are also friendly to talk to.
Overall i like the place and is 10 mins to Kingscross station and just 15 mins walk to Royal Botanic Garden

DDr. Justin HattI was travelling to Sydney for New Year's Eve and, of course, finding an inexpensive hotel for this time can be quite tricky. However, El Toro did give a good offer and having booked the hotel much earlier in the year really helped. I do not expect much from ”motor inns”, but this one was well equipped with a bar, mini casino, and its own takeout restaurant that was open late. Its location is about 10 - 15 minutes walking from Warwick Farm station in Sydney, so it is somewhat out of the way from most things, which may be why it was less expensive than other locations.
The room was very nicely prepared. There were some noticeable improvements made to the room I had and it looked very well presented. However, there was a concerning crack in the wall neighbouring the next room, but nonetheless, it did not become an issue to worry about for the trip. The biggest problem I had was with ants coming up from behind the bathroom sink; although thankfully in small numbers each time, they were continuing to appear throughout the trip, but at least they remained in that particular area of the bathroom only and never sought to migrate to other parts of the room. However, on the day of checking out, I noticed a lot of ants coming into the room via the gap under the entrance door, so I had to be somewhat quick in heading out. Although the ants appearing is quite the concern, I still gave this location 3/5 for cleanliness because, for the most part, the ant situation was isolated to a singular spot in the room and the rest of the room was well maintained.
The motor inn will very likely rectify the situation with the ants rather quickly and will seek to make repairs to the wall. It does look like it has more recently been making efforts to improve, so I anticipate it will continue getting better in the future.

Cathy was also a wonderful person in general, throughout my stay.
The room is pretty big, with a sink and a fridge. 👌🏻
The room I had is next to the common area however people weren't too loud, especially in the evening despite it roughly being the dinner time so that was nice.
The area is very chill, a few schools and houses around so not loud at night. It is, however, situated on the planes' route and they are pretty low in the sky since it gets close to the airport. But there aren't any at night (around midnight until 6AM I would say) and it's not every 5 minutes either.
The sun set pretty early at that time of the year and to me, I felt like the neighborhood lacked lights for people to walk around but it wasn't much of a bother and not something the lodge can change, so just a heads-up to have a small light/enough battery on the phone to use when coming back from your day trip activities.

The floor might make squeaky sound when you walk but it’s okay.
Female bathroom was bit disappointed. Space was so small and don’t really have the place to put clothes and the shower head need to be replaced and the water just like pissed down and way too hot or cold.

GGuest UserThe interior and the shower needs to be updated, very old and outdated. The floor in the shower fills up quickly and not running down the drain fast enough which was quite unpleasant to experience. The place needs heating or a heater as it can get quite cold during the winter. The queen bed was comfortable and warm and the room was spacious for 1 person. The reception is friendly and always smiling although it would be good to know in advance if my single bedroom that I booked for another booking so I didn't have to lugged 2 luggages and my handbag with my laptop into up and down the stairs as there are no lifts. I was surprised that a woman knocked on my door at 9:45am that she was ready to get into my room when in the booking, it says check out is 10am. That made check out a very annoying experience for me. The location is great as it's a short walk to the beach and Cronulla centre.
