Choosing Chengyi was the smartest decision we made on this trip to Hengdian; it was a truly delightful surprise. The value for money is absolutely off the charts: a 200-something-yuan room with a living room, bathtub, and even a vanity table is just fantastic! Every evening, there's a great selection of late-night snacks, and they're delicious! I also have to commend Chengyi's service. Every staff member here is as genuine and dedicated as the hotel's name implies! You can really feel their thoughtfulness. Last night, my husband suddenly got a headache in the middle of the night, and the front desk immediately brought warm water and a steam eye mask – we were truly touched 🥹. If you're driving, it's actually very convenient to all the attractions. The furthest, Ming and Qing Palace Garden, is only a 15-minute drive, and the New Yuanmingyuan is just 3 minutes away. Overall, this experience gets a big thumbs up 👍!"

"We stayed at the Floral Hotel beside Dream Valley during Chinese New Year, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable hotel experiences we’ve had anywhere in China. While the location is already a major advantage being just steps away from Dream Valley and close to the other Hengdian attractions - what truly sets this hotel apart is the heart and personality behind it. This is not a typical boutique hotel. It’s a place shaped by the owners’ passion, taste, and genuine care for their guests. From the moment you arrive, you can feel that the hotel is a labor of love. The architecture and interior design are beautifully curated, with many pieces collected by the owners over the years. Walking through the courtyard and hallways feels like stepping into a different era, almost like entering a scene from the Song dynasty. Yet the rooms themselves are fully modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. It’s a rare blend of historical atmosphere and contemporary convenience, and it creates a sense of immersion that you simply don’t get at most hotels in the area. Even though we didn’t stay in the hotel’s best room, we were extremely comfortable. The beds are very firm - something to keep in mind depending on your preference - but we slept well. The room features a large, modern soaking tub that’s perfect after a long day of walking through the film sets and a separate bathroom and shower. And one of our favorite touches was the smart projector in the room, which turns a simple movie night into a cinematic experience. It’s small details like these that show how much thought has gone into making the stay enjoyable. But the true highlight of our visit was the hospitality. The owners are warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making guests feel welcome. On one rainy day, when there wasn’t much for us to do outside, they invited us into their main hall for tea. They set up a traditional tea table with a heated brazier, creating a cozy, intimate atmosphere that felt like visiting old friends rather than staying at a hotel. They kept bringing local snacks: seeds, small rice cakes, and even freshly cooked sweet potato - all offered freely and with genuine kindness. My wife and kids loved every bit of it. What could have been a dull, rainy afternoon became one of our favorite memories of the entire trip. Their kindness extended beyond that moment. At one point, we accidentally made a mess in our room (entirely our fault) and the owners helped us clean up without a hint of frustration or judgment. It’s rare to find that level of patience and understanding, especially during the busy holiday season. Breakfast each morning was another highlight. The hotel has a local cook who clearly takes pride in her craft. The dishes were fresh and simple but full of flavor, prepared with care and attention. You could feel her pride in everything she served. It’s the kind of breakfast that makes you slow down and appreciate the home cooked moment, rather than rushing through a buffet line like at larger hotels. All in all, this hotel was a true win for us. The personal touches, the warmth of the owners, the passion of the cook, and the unique atmosphere created by the carefully collected antiques all come together to create an experience that stands out among the many boutique hotels in the area. In fact, I would say it’s probably better than any other hotel around Hengdian. It’s rare to find a place that feels both deeply rooted in local culture and fully equipped with modern comforts, but this hotel manages to do exactly that. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Hengdian, whether for the parks, the film sets, or simply a relaxing getaway. And if we ever return to the area, we would stay here again without hesitation."

"This Orange Crystal hotel, newly opened in 2025, definitely has top-notch decor and facilities. However, it seems to be an old building that's been renovated, so it doesn't hold up to close scrutiny. The reason for not giving a full 5 stars is the hygiene; I simply can't give it a perfect score. As soon as you get upstairs, there's a strange smell in the hallway. The cleanliness in the room could be improved, and the same goes for the restaurant… you could clearly see water stains, oil stains, and wipe marks on the placemats and tabletops. Let's talk about the 15% discount on tickets. It's a pretty good promotion, but only adult tickets were eligible for the discount, with no children's tickets available for purchase. If you wanted the 15% off, you had to buy adult tickets for everyone. Later, I realized that a 1-adult-1-child annual pass was the most cost-effective option, so people can choose based on their own situation. After comparing prices across various platforms, we found a coupon on Trip.com and ended up buying a package deal there. The bar area in the room deserves a special mention! You can enjoy making your own pour-over coffee, and the tea set also adds a nice touch. The amenities in a new hotel are indeed quite good. Suggestion: The air conditioning in the elevator and the hallway leading to the restaurant could be turned up; it felt a bit stuffy."

The front desk service was excellent, and check-in/check-out was very efficient. The surrounding area has convenient options for dining and transportation, and it's quiet, ensuring a good night's rest. The soundproofing was good, and the bed was just right – not too soft, not too hard – so I slept soundly. Overall, it offers great value for money and is suitable for both leisure and business travelers. Highly recommended."

"Five stars, highly recommend! The tent experience was absolutely divine 🌌. The environment is tranquil and stunning, backed by green mountains with expansive views. During the day, you're fully immersed in nature, creating an incredible atmosphere. The tent itself was clean, tidy, and odorless, with spacious and comfortable interiors. The air conditioning works great, and the private bathroom has plenty of hot water. The bedding is soft and luxurious, perfectly blending glamping romance with hotel comfort – no feeling of being rudimentary here at all. The butler service was thoughtful and attentive, responding promptly and meticulously to every need. The surrounding scenery is incredibly photogenic and super healing. It's the perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle, offering maximum relaxation and healing. An excellent choice for a getaway, I'll definitely be back!"

"A wonderfully pleasant guesthouse! Quiet and soothing! The rooms were comfortable, clean, and cozy. My friends and I were all very satisfied with our stay. The little tent smelled wonderful, and the kids loved it. The staff were very helpful in recommending great restaurants, and we didn't disappoint – they were delicious! The courtyard was lovely, with birdsong and blooming flowers, white and yellow – so beautiful. We booked a barbecue in the courtyard; the aroma of flowers filled the air, and the atmosphere was fantastic!"

"Super fun! This was one of the theme hotels that were hidden on the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street set. Appropriately, the Rosslyn Hotels' brand icon is the Landlady from Kungfu Hustle. Upon arrival, you check in at the North Gate's Tourist Services Desk. The concierge welcomed me with a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and asking me to add their butler (Housekeeper Xiao Xiao) to my WeChat. If I needed anything, I just had to text the Housekeeper Xiao Xiao (who was super helpful with all my questions (in English) during my stay). Then the bellhop whisked me away, via golf cart, to my hotel. There were several hidden hotels, with different themes, throughout the set. The bellhop took me through an unassuming door among into what looked like an empty set, and up an elevator to the room floors. The walkway offered a lovely view of the Ming Qing Palace set next door. The rooms were supposed to be themed as Guangzhou and Hong Kong in the 70s and 80s, but could easily pass for old Shanghai. The room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, the shower has nice and hot and with fantastic water pressure. The room has some of the largest closet space that I have seen in any hotel. The WiFi worked without the need to register a local cellphone number (I've found that many other hotels, in China, offered free WiFi, but you need to verify with an ID code text to you. The texts never come through to my U.S. phone number, so I have never been able to take advantage of free WiFi; that is until I got to this hotel.) The little details were delightful surprises around every corner. They always refer to guests as ”laoshi” (an honorific of teacher, or master, bestowed to actors) or as ”starlet”. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to take home the pair of the room's bone china cups. The stay also comes with very decent breakfast buffet that had both Chinese and western dishes. They will even make you fresh wontons and noodle soups to order. The restaurants in the park are not great and quite expensive by China's standard. I recommend loading up at the more tasty free breakfast to power through the day. The hotel's location was very convenient for touring Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street; which had very lively evening shows. (As you walk through the streets, look at the stores' signs and test your TV shows and movie knowledge by finding the Easter eggs.) The Qing Ming Palace Set is across the street from the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street's South Gateon the other side of the park (don't worry, it's not that far). To access the other sets, you can take their shuttle, but it does not come around very often. It's more efficient to get a Didi. Overall, it was a magical stay of being in the movies."

"A very satisfying stay, it is very convenient to stay here. There are large supermarkets, fruit shops, and restaurants next to the hotel, which is very convenient for travel. The newly opened hotel has very good facilities, an elegant environment, the hotel is clean and sanitary, and the hot water for bathing is very fast! You can also upgrade your room for free, and the hotel staff provide enthusiastic service throughout the entire process. This hotel must be praised! ! Next time I come to Dongyang, I will book here again"

"When I was planning my trip, I found a package deal that was incredibly good value, so I booked this hotel for a pleasant experience. Upon check-in, a staff member immediately came forward to guide us and help with our luggage. After we checked in, they thoughtfully escorted us to our room. The room was very spacious, fully equipped, and the bathroom and shower were perfectly dry-wet separated. On the first day, the hotel provided complimentary welcome fruits. They also offered free refills of bottled water; the front desk would kindly ask if we needed more. The included breakfast was a buffet with a vast selection of food. The small baked flatbreads were delicious! There was also Dongyang soupy noodles, wontons, regular noodles, sliced bread (with a toaster nearby that was constantly working, and a great variety of jams to choose from, plus fresh honeycomb!), filled pastries, fruits, vegetable salads, coffee, milk, soy milk, tofu pudding, and more – truly everything you could want. The hotel's location is super close to the highway exit, making it very convenient for drivers. It's only a 15-minute drive to Hengdian Town, where there are also plenty of restaurants. When we checked out, the hotel even prepared a parting gift for us. I've already recommended it to my friends and family!"
