"Dara Hotel is a value hotel that is well worth the cost! The breakfast was the best aspect followed by the pool and seating area. The rooms are basic but spacious. We struggled getting Grabs but you can hail street taxis/ tuck tuck easily enough. The shopping center nearby is excellent and a 5-10 minute walk. It’s a couple of miles away from the Old Town and Weekend Market."

"I chose the room type with the largest balcony. From the outside, other rooms' balconies were only half the size of ours. The view was absolutely stunning, overlooking the outdoor breakfast area, lush green lawns, sandy beach, and the ocean. The room itself was also very spacious, featuring a small bay window and a coffee table. The air conditioning worked perfectly, cooling down the room quickly. Breakfast was quite substantial too. You could walk directly from the hotel to the beach. Overall, I was very satisfied. If I ever visit Kata Beach again, I would definitely choose this hotel."

It's run by Chinese owners! The front desk staff speak Chinese, making communication seamless and hassle-free. 4. "We absolutely LOVED this hotel!! The food was insanely delicious — oh my goodness! In-room dining was tasty and affordable. The hotel is Muslim-friendly, very clean, and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. Getting a Grab was super easy. Whatever you need, just ask — the hotel staff will gladly help. "Great hotel and fantastic location! Short walk away from Kata but still quite a lot of stores close by such as 7/11 right next door and a good dispensary across the road if you want to partake in the greenery. Pool room is a MUST if you enjoy using the pool though as the hotel doesn't have a sunlounge reserving policy so I observed many people putting towels on them ones around the main pool early in the morning. The only slight negatives were that I personally didn't rate the breakfast much, however it was passable, and I found it a bit odd that the pool is closed at 7pm."

Transportation to Patong Beach (1.5-2 km away) is conveniently provided via free shuttle service until 11 PM, with Bangla Road just another 200-300 meters beyond the beach. **Dining Experience** The resort offers decent food quality, though options lean toward local cuisine. While vegetarians seeking Indian dishes may find limited choices, both egg-eaters and non-vegetarians will find ample variety. "The owner is Chinese. My child accidentally broke a glass table in the villa area, and we had to pay 1000🐷, not a penny less. I thought it was too expensive. However, when my husband cut his foot on glass while swimming in the pool, the owner showed no concern whatsoever, even suggesting it couldn't have been a problem with the pool. I feel this attitude significantly diminished our stay, especially considering it was over 1500 baht a night. We had no choice but to move upstairs for the second night because the hotel was fully booked during peak season. Families with children should be very careful about the balcony railings and tiled sofas. The railings are very wide, and a child could easily fall through. The sofa is right next to the railing, so extreme caution is needed when playing there; you can't let your guard down for a second and must keep a close eye on your kids. There's a seafood market nearby, which is convenient for getting seafood cooked. We went twice, costing about 200 baht per person, and the food was decent. It takes an hour to get to the airport and 30 minutes to Phuket Old Town. The location doesn't feel great, being at the very end of the island. Everything is quite expensive and far away to get to! **Hotel downsides:** The water pressure is low, and it takes ages for the hot water to come; it's cold for a long time, then suddenly scalding, and if you turn it to the middle, it gets cold again 😟. The room facilities are a bit old. The latex pillows are too high; I'm used to flatter pillows and barely slept all night. Personally, I don't like mirrors facing the bed. **Upsides:** The breakfast is more Chinese-style. Communication with the owner was smooth. The fifth floor gets good sunlight and offers a distant sea view, which is great for drying clothes. There are two washing machines on the first floor, but you need to bring your own detergent. Overall, I feel the quality doesn't match the price. I'd rate it 3 stars!"
